The best way to keep a long story short: oof. Wish it could've gotten some love and bloomed into the sci-fi tactical shooter godsend it wanted to be but we're just stuck with the reality of the situation. Fun going back to the official forums and getting to wave my fancy backer status to a bunch of spam bots though!
