The Crew 1 is shutting down, You have 'til the 31st of march, 2024 to play! To everyone who was bought The Crew: I hope you all have the time to play this game, even if this game may not be the best, complete the main story! Even with its issues, The Crew is/was one of the best racing games I've ever played! Being able to drive across the entire main-US is something which hasn't been made before nor since (I know about The Crew 2 and Motorfest but those games don't have the same feel). Rest In Peace The Crew, You where real good son, real good, maybe even the best! The real sad thing is that, Offline mode has been in the game since day one! This is so preventable! This is like knowing that your mother has cancer and WILL die, you just don't know when. However, the cancer is still in it's infancy, but instead of getting rid of it, the doctors say: "Yeah no, there is NOTHING we can do". And you know that's a BIG F**KING LIE! But what are you gonna do ? Become a doctor and do it yourself ? Well there is still some hope, a discord group called "The Crew Unlimited" are trying to get The Crew running in offline mode. The difference between this and other people trying to revive a dead game/soon to be dead game is that The Crew has an offline mode, it has always been there. Here's the link to the group if anyone is interested: https://discord.gg/6UuCXS2f I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your day!

Steam will drop Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 Support
Daniel Garner replied to Daniel Garner's topic in Gaming in general
@kerdios I'm unfamiliar with Linux Distros but they might be affected too. -
Hey guys! Today I started up Steam like I usually do until I noticed this: "Steam will stop running on Windows 8.1 in 279 days." So yeah, whilst I have 279 days to update (while writing this) I sure wasn't expecting this so soon. Why is this happening ? Well if you click on the message it sends you to: https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/6E66-54EC-3EFC-283C Which gives information on why XP and Vista were no longer supported. Kinda sloppy not updating it yet for 7, 8 and 8.1, huh ? They do this due to: "The newest features in Steam rely on an embedded version of Google Chrome, which no longer functions on older versions of Windows." And that was for XP and Vista, now probably being the same reason for 7, 8 and 8.1. So how many people does this account for ? Well according to: https://gs.statcounter.com/windows-version-market-share 5.39 % use Windows 7, 0.52 % use Windows 8 and 1.15 % use Windows 8.1 on February. Which amounts to 7.06 % of the Windows market share. https://www.bloggersideas.com/how-many-windows-users-are-there-in-the-world/ says there are 1.4 BILLION Windows users. Now, if we do some math: 1.4 billion/100 = 14 million. If we take 14 * 7.06 = 98.84 Million. Jesus! Now, I know that not everyone is gaming on these machines. According to: https://www.statista.com/statistics/265033/proportion-of-operating-systems-used-on-the-online-gaming-platform-steam/ only 1.6 % of Steam users have Windows 7. For 8 and 8.1 there isn't an individual category and they are counted into the "Other" category. Fine we'll count the entire "Other" category as-well . 14 * 5.69 = 79.66 Million. Christ ! So. Whilst these 79.66 Million PCs aren't all on Windows 7, 8 and 8.1, they still are going to need to update, not to mention their PCs as-well. Conclusion: Steam will be dropping support for Windows 7, 8 and 8.1. Currently 79.66 Million people have to upgrade. Edit: The comment for Steam only giving information on why XP and Vista and not 7, 8 and 8.1 is now invalid. I will still leave it in, because: 1. I'm lazy. 2. I don't think it's harmful to leave it in. Here's the link: https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/4784-4F2B-1321-800A And yes, Google Chrome is the reason...

So I made a post about this before but I decided to delete it because it wasn't really good. So here's a fix for a guide to fix B&W2. Disclaimer: I don't know how to make guides, so some parts might be unclear. I'm going to talk about the DVD version of B&W2 so no piracy. But most of the guide still should apply. (I personally don't care if you pirate it, It can't be bought digitally, so physical copies and piracy are the only ways to get it). Last thing: I have Windows 8.1, so what works for me might not work for you. So first Install, I hope you know how CD-/DVD ROM installation works. Put the folder somewhere, preferably where you can find it. Also name the folder e.g Black and White 2. So it's installed, now what ? Well there's only one thing left. First go into Nvidia Control Panel or what the AMD version's called. Then go into "Manage 3D Settings" then on "Program Settings" tab. Select the B&W2.exe called white.exe . Scroll down until you see "Vertical Sync" and select ON and apply. Now there are patches for the game at https://www.bwrealm.com/official-files-patches But these patches aren't actually needed, you can play B&W2 without them. Get these Patches if you want to. However one time I did install them I couldn't pick stuff up, which is very important. So install at your own risk.
