The atmosphere is great and I liked the story, as cryptic as it is. The voiceacting is very decent. The speech of the last boss is really great and I didn't mind listening to it several times. The update added a Spanish version due to the setting, but I think the English one is better. The enemy design in general is pretty good, though some of the bosses are boring. The controls are good and the designers knew its limits when building the levels. All in all it has quite a lot of content and much of that is good - it's just spread out too thin.

No, it's as I wrote: It's worth a try as it is fine, it just could be so much better.

If you played the tabletop game, you'll like this one. Who am I kidding? Nobody played the tabletop game, I hardly have.

I would recommend it. It has many things that rubbed me the wrong way, for example the too few fast travel points and endless backtracking without any reward, but in the end it was decent. They could have done so much more with the idea, though. Many of the environments are bland and not much thought went into the bossfights. It's not that hard as people often claim. The difficulty is highest in the second hour or so and then takes a deep dive. I almost got stuck on the second boss and then didn't have a problem until the last one. The last boss has random platforms appearing, so you can just have a bad luck streak there. The music could also be better for that kind of setting. They should have dared to put more organ and more Spanish guitar into it, more choirs. Still, the world is interesting, the Dark Souls-like backstories for all the objects are fun to read and I liked the general style. I'm sure I would have liked it more if I hadn't played it right after Hollow Kinght. This way I was always thinking: "It's fine, but not as good as Hollow Kinght". I think that also sums up the whole game. There's a free expansion out since yesterday, so I'll give it another go.

I spent half an hour with it, found it to be clunky and bland. Somehow it felt like a low budget Japanese action RPG, which it isn't. However, the reviews are not that bad, so I'll give it another try sooner or later. When I'm done with playing all the Myst games, maybe.

It's so slow! I haven't yet found the time to get through the beginning. You just walk around for ever and ever and I haven't even found the first gun. It's not like it tells you any story in this part either.

I couldn't get into it, too. It just feels like a cheap, somehow.

Repetetive. I also never understood the appeal of FPS games that consist of very small enclosed rooms. I think I played it for two hours until I got fed up.
-
Also on GOG. I have tried to play it, but couldn't get into it yet.

I played this as a kid. It's an educational Myst-like puzzle game. I can't remember much of it, but I think it was rather easy. The follow-up, Bioscopia, was a bit better since the story was more serious.

A great game if played casually. I come back now and then to go on with the journey, but I never played it for hours in one sitting. I think it can become boring very quickly.

I bought the steelbook collector's edition. For one Euro. I still regret it. Believe me, you don't want to play this. I started it several times, but never got very fat. Bland, boring, buggy.

Good in small doses. I don't regret playing it, but I never saw any point in trying to finish it.

Gripping atmosphere, vicious, even often unfair difficulty and nice, simplistic graphics. I agree that it's best to go in blind.

More like a surrealistic survival game. I think that describes it best. You might even call it a rouge-like. It's not, but what good are save files when you just noticed that you mismanaged your resources and brought yourself into an unwinnable situation hours ago?

It's released now. It's... well, definitely interesting. I like the architecture and the atmosphere, but the gameplay is terrible. The voice acting is even worse. I regret paying money for it.

This game is a harsh mistress. Stunningly beautiful and terrible at the same time. It makes you doubt your abilities, your sanity, your existence. I don't think I ever lasted more than two, maybe three hours and never got close to the ending.

So much wasted potential. When I started the game, I tought you were going to explore the house, haunted by the demons of your own memories. But instead you walk corridor after corridor with things screaming and crying at you.

I put many hours in this game and regret it completely. The nice handdrawn style is completely ruined by the animation looking like a flash video from 2001. The randomized level design and constant backtracking makes progress boring and the story is almost unnoticable most of the time.
