I was too young(stupid?) for Myst but i LOVED Riven. That game gives an idea, how such games could work now days. Similar to the great OBDUCTION, i loved it very much BUT those games need bigger budgets!!!! MORE such environments! MORE Puzzles! MORE!!!!!

The first game EVER that i restartet immediately after beating it the first time.

Just got the "final cut" version for the price of a bad sandwitch. Never played anything from this series before. It ticks ALL my boxes: It's like Diablo, but far more complex wich doesen't mean it's hard. On normal, with my tanky damage "protector" build, it's the never ending story of me, beating the cr** out of everything moving! (except for some people, i have very mundane dialogue with) The enemies STAY dead!!! (except for if you want to grind and activate respawning in the options) Music is good to incredible! Unlike Diablo, it's ridiculously funny but also grim and scary. (...seems unlikely....but remember the movie: Monty Python and the Holy Grail...it managed to do the same thing imo ) All the environments look great and are full of little secrets that make them feel much more alive, compared to Diablo. Atmosphere is dense at all times and the characters, the writing and the voice acting never let me down. The popculture references, although overabundant, never seemed to me to be shoehorned in.(...the above mentioned final boss goldfinger quote beeing one rare exeption...) subj. rating: good/great (i prefer serious games in general, wich is the ONLY thing, keeping this game from FANTASTIC)

Imagine the same suit against Steam! (compare with 13:47) Some one would claime: The steam term "library" is misleading in giving the impression that i owne the stuff in it. If it was called "list of temporally licenses you purchased" and i had understood this at the moment of my "purchase", i would have never paid the money i did! The court (under californian law...) would say: Yes, this meets the requirements for a "deceptive advertising case" ( not fraud!!!! hahahah). Despite the eula, the plaintiff agreed on! Now just fill in the "buy" button for the "library" section.....

Hey Ross! Hey folks! Have you seen this!? LMAO! Not posting this for the apple lawsuit! Go to 6:35! In their first "meetings" with Ross, they explained "..how fraud is technically the wrong term..." etc. Now check out their video title! I know, its complex and Ross talked allready over the overarching theme in the last dead game news video. But i like, how those hoeg guys now use this "technically wrong term" themselves!

For a year, i moved to vaping and it worked. But the distribution laws in austria kept pushing the liquids back...the store next to me closed down....then the next store was 1,5 h away...since the pandemic/lockdown, since the vaping stores are not "relevant" enough, liquids are out of reach. Now i m back, stepping out my door 5mins later i have my fix. The law doesen't allow inner country sending via post ("shipping" is really the wrong term in austria :-()) because of child protection...."shipment" from abroad would be possible, but it's very expensive....i'm working my ass of and rents are leaving me enough to eat, when lucky.....as soon as i find a solution for that...im back at vaping...

Sry, if this topic allready exists elswhere....maybe on the "serious topics"....since im new here, i can't check everything on the forum.... To the point: I'm stuck with my FIRST build.....'cause of the current GPU shortage. (if someone cares: my plan is: CPU: intel 10600K (got it for 190 €!) Board: Asus rog strix gaming f (i don't need wlan and i plan to oc the sh** out of the chip and the memory as well..; and i can't recommend Asus boards enough, my last one (h87-pro) kicks derrieres until today...no probs at all!) RAM: 32gb Corsair lpx vengeance 3600mhz (if OCed...!!!! Attention on the official 10600K support rate!) PSU: corsair rm750 M.2 SSD...duh! CPU Cooler: Dark rock pro 4....for actually hardecore OC! Fits the Ram, but needs enough space in the case) BUT NOW: GPU! I need a rtx 3070 at least, to make the upgrade from my gtx 1080 worth it. So, at the moment....i'm "loved from behind in a solid and unpleasent way"! I know, i don't have to upgrade at the moment...i don't care so much about VR or Raytracing right now.... it's more about the building, than the having...if you get my point. I'm not rich, but i get a good structure in life...by buying one part at a time, when i can afford it. OK, that's my perspective on the topic...i consider myself to be just "mildly" affectet by the shortage...i can play all i want.....but the fear of my gpu having ANY issue feels like damocles's sword over my head....not nice! But that article kind of hits to close to home, imo. If you think about it, it touches some quite important issues: resource shortage, maybe environmental issues, inequality (if you can afford it to pay 1500+ bucks, just for a gpu, you don't have a problem at all...), the capability of the "free market" to provide for everyone,..... So, what is your opinion/perspective/experiance/expertise/current knowledge on the Topic? I'd love to know!

For the love of christ!!!! Now, i have to see the bad ending!!! I'm pretty sure, you are right about the "not even worth to be shown".... ....and i would hate myself for completing this game for that reason only.... AHHHH! The definition of: between a rock and a hard place !!!! To add insult to injury, this seems to be that one game, where NO LET'S PLAY is on yt at all!!! AHHHHHH!!!! But there is a quantum of solace: The videos coming up on yt when you enter: "go to hell bad ending" are quite interesting. I mean: (viewer discretion is advised)

So, i read through this comment section for the third time now.....(maybe i'm blind?!?)..... HOW COMES, that NOBODY wants to know about the real "worst director in hollywood" ????? At 35:33 , for the fragment of a second, a guy appears, giving thumbs up, just as Ross says the words: "worst director in hollywood".... Who is this??? Did all of you recognise him instantly or what???? Is it Uwe? If it is Uwe, i would strongly disagree, because Uwe is making bad movies on purpose, to cheat on taxes in some way! So he may make the worst movies in hollywood, but for the "worst director in hollywood" award, in my opinion, you should try and fail....

The "Cowboy" suggestion: It has been suggested before, but i wanted to affirm this: "Outlaws" by LucasArts, 1997 - It's not really obscure, but the music, man!!!! "Redneck Rampage" by Xatrix Entertainment, 1997 ...not exactly about cowboys...but....its from the same year! maybe a double feature/comparison episode? Then, i recently stumbled over a pretty obscure game, where you play partly as a cowboy, who is kind of to old for this shit. It's called "Red dead redemption 2" by Rockstar Studios, 2019 I know, i know....but just think about it, for a moment! Close your eyes and imagine a full lenght GD episode on it! No "cop out" "april fools" short. Wouldn't that be the most crazy thing ever? Wouldn't you want to see it? You know, you do! C'mon, Ross! Are you a Mexican or a Mexican't? Wouldn't that be a new kind of challenge? ......Just daydreaming......but.......you know, what i mean......? (of course, it is against everything, the format is about and it would only take 3-5 lifedestroying years to make, not speaking of the copyright nightmare....but....ahhhhh....i like the idea!) The "Non-Cowboy" suggestion: "TIS-100" by Zachtronics Industries, 2015 - From the Steampage: "It’s the assembly language programming game you never asked for!". I don't know sh*t about assembly language programming and i am BAD at math! BUT, after the mathewmatosis video on it, i spent the 6 bucks...to kind of troll myself....and...after some help from some nice yt guys, who are actual geniuses.....ITS FUN!!! It has a story! What they did with the manual is also great, or, at least exeptional! I want to close, with my favorite steam review ever (.....ok, its for SHENZHEN I/O, the direct successor from the same dev, but its a very similar game, just WITH graphics and on crack! written by mapadj, translated from german by me: "I earn 80 € net per hour to code microcontrollers. If you are up for this ****, go for it!". (recommends the game)

Hi! I'm chris. I am 38 years very old. I live in Vienna, the capitol of Austria, a small country in central europe, where people speak german, wich explaines my terrible english! I choose the nickname HUBERT, 'cause its a really stupid sounding (if you say it in german...sounds like : Hoobert, while the 'e' is pronounced like the 'a' in care), but common name around here, and it's the name of an austrian singer/songwriter wich i like (hubert von goisern). I'm late for this forum, like for everything else in life. Primarily, i came here from the: "Gaas is fraud" video, on wich i agree. I stayed for the "game dungeon" and the "other videos" but i have to admit, that "civil protection" may be the funniest thing invented by man and after the "modern military general" episode of "Freeman's Mind" i accepted ross as the one true god. My favorite GD episode is the "BLACK MIRROR" one, because of the Ninja-theory. I work mostly as a voice actor and author of short stories. My posts are usually to long. I also like the big game list very much. My hobbies are pc gaming, strangling small animals, masturbation and golf. (...don't call the cops on me, its a monty python quote and its not true! I hate golf!)

Partly GREAT music! Had a lot of fun with it!!! I think, it aimes at even earlier times than "DOOM". I was surprised, how good it feels to play, coming directly from "DOOM ETERNAL". I don't miss jumping! For me, that "kid" did a great job!

Played it a lot, about just before they added Boats n stuff... so it's been some time....i'll jump back on it, when my new rig is done.....but back then, i spent 100+ h on it, loving it so hard, i'd give it 3 times "ALL TIME FAVOURITE" Awards! It's one of those MP games, that turn out to be GREAT SP experiences (like "CONAN EXILES"). I posted some wishes on the steam community blog, rooting for more SP content and some guy replied, that the devs actually think of it as a SP game, but they use the EA phase with the MMOish gamplay to raise awareness and financial support n stuff....but the focus was always on SP. Then, a dev replied in the same post and kind of (cautiously) agreed with that guy!!! @Hiphastis: +1 to pretty much all you said.

After agreeing with Ross's rating on "SUBNAUTICA", it is, after "DEX", the second game i ONLY got, because it's one of the 5 games with the "Fantastic" rating. Third time agreed!

For me, it's just "NOT PORTAL" in every way. Like "Chad Mojito" pointed out: next to "PORTAL" and "THE (f*in!) TALOS PRINCIPLE", it feels so underwhelming, that i have a hard time recommending it, even though it's not BAD at all.

I'm not sure if i like these games because they were pretty much all there was, when i started serious gaming, or if i am a genuine fan of the "old school shooter" genre,........but this rocks! Played it in late early accsess (first hub world) and can't wait for the full release. Feels and plays like in the "good old days" but with super smoothe modern day polish. No Problems at all! If you feel anything of what i've said ...don't miss this! If "ION FURY" is the modern lovechild of "Duke 3d", this game is it for "QUAKE" (1 !!!)
