yeah, no :) , I never had enough cash to buy the best pc and state of the art games so I never got around to playing all those FPSs that came out, plus I never was one to be very enthusiastic about FPSs, so even though I have heard about Unreal, I've never actually played it. (except maybe a demo of a story-less PvP mode which would have turned me off of it immediately).

Dead Game News: Ubisoft / Game Journalism Zeitgeist or Something
kerdios replied to Ross Scott's topic in Other Videos
Best I can tell it's about companies like IGN who have reviewers who completely tare into games in reviews but still give them a high score like 4/5, or just give bad games high scores just because they are afraid of being canceled (i.e. lose their critic perks) by the game company. like the examples here (at the time stamp) -
sorry, meant doom, not duke, but duke 3D and quake 3 did have pretty ok engines duke 3D Quake 3 Unreal

AFAIK it was just another duke/quake clone

Games that aren't Souls-like but have similar storytelling

Have you ever played Exile? (not the avernum remake) It used wall bumping in order to find secret passages and so rewarded every nook and cranny with a small surprise, trash heaps outside of cities sometimes having a special knife or a hidden ruby and other such things. The dev abandoned most of that in the remake, which saddned me at first, but I can understand now that for a more mature audience the constant need for wall bumping could get tedious fast. -

Any Idea why they are still in Beta? -
So... did Ross put you up to this or was just a self imposed guilt trip?
