While the whole casino thing is pretty bad, in a weird way I find it to be better than surprise mechanics. At least it's something everyone knows is bad and it fits into adult game themed around crime. Not that it excuses being able to purchase currency with real money, you can then gamble. But, I'll take it over gambling in game 3+ that pretends it's not addictive.

In my opinion "potential" alone is worth pretty much nothing as good writing and direction make show much better than cool idea ever will. And anime that relay only on cool idea and then fail to even to expand on this idea is something we see way too often.

I started Dragon Quest VIII (3DS version) recently. It's my first game in Dragon Quest series and so far I'm not having a good time. Hope it picks up.

People love Witcher series though. As for me, I can't think of many. There are many unpopular games that I like, but it's not like people dislike them – just don't know or aren't interested. Like Ace Attorney series. On the other hand I could name games I don't like that others do, which makes me kind of sad, because it's much easier to hate on things than to defend them.
