  1. I want a survival horror game that looks like this.
  2. Modding it brings the life back to it but eventually it starts to hug hard for some reason and the bad performance makes me put it down. I still remember those early "giraffe" builds or whatever very fondly but it's always left me wanting more.
  3. Was just too scary for me. The open water and just turning around to see a giant toothed fish in my face was just too much. Needed co-op to feel a bit safer lol.
  4. This game checked almost every box except the "beautiful forested scenery" one, but everytime I get to that main hub and try to get all the systems functional I get completely lost and give up. I made it through one time back in 2017 or something and put it down thinking I'd pick it up later, but now everytime I come back I just can't figure it out. Cool zombie shooting while it lasted. Sequel looks like a disappointment.
  5. I really enjoyed my time with it but I hit a point after reaching the main hub in the city that made me kind of lose interest, but all these years later I still remember that first bit of the game very fondly.
  6. This game was really sad. When it ended, I wasn't ready. It made me care.
  7. I've tried the older Fallout games, and almost beat Fallout 2, but they lost me at some point. This is the only turn based game besides LISA that I have enjoyed every minute I spent in it, and it feels like a true Fallout successor. I mean this game is just special. Only problem, is there's a part of the game close to the beginning that seems designed to help you decide whether or not you need to throw 10 hours of gameplay in the trash, I mean that gauntlet is jsut brutal and I couldn't get through it with 2 different builds. And if you can't get through it, there's just not much you can do if you're on the oddity xp system. But the oddity xp system was such an allure to me, leveling up by finding odd trinkets and interesting items instead of just killing things over and over seemed really cool and made a stealth build seem viable. I intend to try again one day because the art and atmosphere in the game is so good.
  8. Good action, super creepy vibes, but it's mostly just a wave based rogue-like with a lot of work required for progression and to unlock lore. I really like this game, but it makes me want safe rooms and more functional multiplayer. This is one of those games that just floods my mind with ideas for how this could be expanded upon. Also, that level complete and after mission main menu music is just amazing. Great saferoom music.
  9. This feels like a british dystopian Pathologic with a focus on the survival gameplay loop. But somehow, it just kept losing my interest while I've put over 100 hours on Pathologic 2.
  10. One of The Best Physics platformers out there. The old flash games were just awesome, and this game just dialed that up to 11. But a fair warning, there aren't any real "Zombies" in this version of Zombotron according to the lore. There are zombies in the old ones. You can play the old games on Flashpoint. Still no fullscreen on the old ones though. Eagerly awaiting the sequel.
  11. There was something about this game that just didn't grab me the way Hrot, Dusk, or Cultic practically grabbed me by the balls and pulled me to the finish line. I start it up, paly for a couple hours, and then lose interest.
  12. After having played Mordhau and dying light, this combat felt really lame and was hard to pinpoint what approach I was supposed to take to it.
  13. It's hard to make a horror shooter that's actually scary, but this is. Lot's of jumpscares though, which get pretty grading over time.
  14. With games like Mordhau's horde mode, And Dying Light existing, the combat for this game really falls flat and didn't inspire me to keep going. Performance is also terrible
  15. It's a lot of fun, has good action, but the level design is so bland and samey it's almost discouraging. It's just rectangular rooms one after another.
  16. A true classic. Lot's of fun with a friend or two.
  17. Some of the best first person Max Pain gameplay I've seen. the gore and gunplay in this game is almost unmatched. Huge map making community.
  18. Just amazing. Even has a open beta for a version where the bioshock-like superpowers can be used.
  19. This was very very good. It's pretty hard, but is better than the original and the original was great. I wish some of this leaked over to the devs new paid game, Vomitorium.
  20. Honestly, I thought this game felt like dog shit compared to it's demo and the alternatives we get these days. The main characters quips are super annoying and I wish he'd just shut up. He's no Duke Nukem, and no Doom Guy.
  21. Lot's of issues and feels abandoned (but isn't, according to the dev and community) but the art direction, atmosphere, and gameplay is so tight it has really left me bitter that the dev is taking so long to add the functional co-op that's advertised on the steam store. It has a fully functional single player campaign and rogue-like mode.
  22. I've watched a ton of gameplay of this and it looks great for a "run away and subvert monsters rather than fight them head on" type of game.
  23. Has some great gameplay, spent about 40 hours in it, but has many many bugs and performance issues to this day. I can run Metro Exodus at ultra graphics settings, but can't turn on grass in this game. Which does make it easier to see lootable corpses, but takes away from the art direction.
  24. Solid. Enemies can feel a bit bullet spongey but everyone's wearing body armor so...
  25. I've put in almost 20 hours in two days. If you miss the old browser version of Mini DayZ, and Project Zomboid is a bit too daunting with it's complicated mechanics. This is the perfect middle ground. Here's my steam review. - I'd put off playing it for a while because I wasn't sure what to do at the start, but recently got a hankering for the old browser version of Mini DayZ, which has been completely destroyed and forsaken by Bohemia. This game is like a mixture of old Mini DayZ and Project Zomboid, because it's complexity and graphics land somewhere in between. But I'd have to say, the overall feel of combat and gore effects far outclass either, as well as having some truly messed up enemies to face. I'm saying some straight up nightmarish body horror type enemies. The true dread and terror in Mini DayZ and Project Zomboid seem to come from the thought of dehydration/ starving to death, or getting so depressed you can't swing a frying pan to save yourself. This has a similar vibe, but also has some stuff to actually be scared of. I have never been able to get into Zomboid mostly because there are so many different mechanics and ways to play the game that I kind of get overwhelmed, my guy has like 20 debuffs in the first 30 minutes, and the combat just felt too slow and sluggish. Zed Zone wins in the action category by a far margin and is the reason I'm enjoying my time with it so much. This really scratches the itch I get for a solid Mini DayZ type game that's not so complicated but has enough progression and new stuff to do/ see without making me overwhelmed and having to use too much brain power.
