  1. it's probably this and not anything forum regulars here do, although i don't think this forum would be really lively even if discord wasn't around. i would never expect this place to become as populated as an active SPUF forum for example, but i bet a lot of people who might post here see the "official" accursed farms discord server on the AF subreddit and situate themselves there instead
  2. https://www.theintelligencer.net/news/top-headlines/2021/09/update-squirrel-chews-through-line-leading-to-transformer-leaves-thousands-in-ohio-county-without-power/ there is an alternate reality in which freeman is fondly remembering this rather than a squirrel at MIT
  3. i say do it. what do you have to lose? bip-bop and bip-bop 3 were only saved from extinction because ross e-mailed the creator, so you may as well give it a shot even if nothing turns up for it
  4. star wars battlefront 2 2005 might satisfy you a little - it won't feel like you've created a big army in an RTS game but in the right circumstances it can feel sufficiently congested. it has offline play where you can customize the settings of the game. you can also find mods for it and although i've never really looked into that scene i'd be surprised if there weren't mods that upped the bot count for both teams. i know there's a mod that adds the KOTOR era to the game, as well as one that adds a new "era" that's actually just halo if you don't mind doing a bit of prep work, garry's mod might be able to do this too, although you'll feel like you have superpowers unless you go deeper into the prepwork for it due to the default player stat values being over the top. i imagine the right mods for any of the first person fallout games could probably get you there. similarly, if you're into melee combat the right mods for elder scrolls games could achieve something like what you want.
  5. it really doesn't matter and you shouldn't care about whether people think you're good at games or not unless you're trying to play competitive/ranked matches in pvp games or something (and you should only care about when they're trying to give you advice instead of just telling you that you suck) if you're able to play touhou adequately then you've got one on me, i find shmups really hard in general. even something like tyrian which ross described as not particularly challenging unless you use one of the unlock code difficulties stumped me very early on
  6. i was actually wondering about this the other day, i think if you have at least 2-3 hours to spare it'd be a good idea to ask ross about it in the coming chat session when he starts taking live questions since that's guaranteed to get his attention
  7. brave dave's big fat freight hop was one of the greatest things i've ever seen
  8. the program itself is broken (for me, at least - have to use sharex to upload to puush) and making new accounts is disabled but anyone who had a puush account can still upload to it. i wasn't aware that it had a security breach though, worrisome

  10. i'm waiting for a conclusion to the amazing halo video series, part 2 ended on such a cliffhanger
  11. monolith only.mp4
  12. a bit of self-promotion but also due to recent interest i'm bringing this thread back. kind of nuts to believe it started before ME3 was even released. if anyone's interested in wild, completely baseless speculation about the next mass effect i'd like to see some thoughts on what it might be/what gameplay systems it may include and change
  13. have been playing mass effect: legendary edition. it's a fun time, but i'd recommend waiting for a sale, especially if you already own the original games. or, if through some stroke of luck the updated versions are released separately at some point, grab ME1 specifically
  14. admiral bop's post is cringeworthy but that image is revolting if people want a particular question answered, they can upvote it to get to the top of the list for ross to see. that's the main reason he has those threads on reddit you should buy a stress ball
  15. i'm not a fan of discord so if you happen to see this message and are still part of this group can you say if they're still working on ZMR or if development has pretty much died? more importantly, does anyone host gamesessions on specific days/nights or something?
  16. i was honestly thinking that there'd just be an elevator or something modded in that could fit the boat to circumvent the dam jump but we got an entire new area instead lmao i have to ask to ross: given that freeman's mind is mostly just a chore to you, do the modded aspects of half-life 2 bring more enjoyment/excitement to working on a specific part in the game?
  17. i realize i'm years late for this but just in case no one ever mentioned it, here's detective alex murphy talking about a "movie from the 80s" with one of his coworkers. he's in the third floor of detroit PD
  18. ross is gonna go through oompa loompa helpers like he'd go through cookies if this keeps up
  19. assuming neither of you have learned since you made these posts, the mushroom thing is one of the monsters in the park from bozo's night out excellent painting, OP
  20. it wasn't for me since barney becomes an established character in half-life 2 and the character in barney's mind doesn't come across as the same person. one thing i'd like to mention though is that making a mind series is a lot more work than i expected and i appreciate anyone who does it as long as they aren't saying exceptionally cringe things. barney's mind didn't come across like that, i just got the sense that barney was kind of stupid. i didn't watch the entire series so i don't know if it got any better as time went on, but it just wasn't hooking me. got through barney's mind, i actually ended up liking it more than shephard's mind. most of the dead air in barney's mind is filled unlike notable instances in shephard's mind where there's no dialogue from shephard, and like shephard's mind not every joke landed but there were some good lines here and there.
  21. anime in general isn't for me and i don't know how it's possible that i found azumanga a good read do not escalate, this is a FAMILY missile silo
  22. lightning bolt.mp4
