  1. Brought back from the dead and now available for purchase! http://store.steampowered.com/app/781250/Eternam/ Edit: Not sure if it's the CD version or the Floppy version however...
  2. Yeah, the neat thing about Uplink is that it was basically cut content so it was clever marketing in that none of it actually appeared in the game so anyone that had the demo, basically had more of the full game. Gunman Chronicles did the exact same thing with their demo. When demos were still popular and useful, I know a number of games that did this. Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun, Starcraft and Age of Empires all include levels that are not in the full game iirc. It was pretty cool. Also, my first Valve game was Half-Life in '99 or '00. I was young and already a fan of numerous game studios and their games. id, Westwood, Bullfrog, Microsoft (when they made games), Looking Glass (aka Blue Sky), Monolith etc etc... When Valve released Half-Life I was hearing crazy things about it, and once I got my hands on a copy thanks to my father... my life changed. A huge chunk of my time gaming is playing/modding Half-Life, playing the countless mods that spawned from it, and participating in the various communities like HIT and Sven-Coop. I still remember going to Planet Half-Life almost everyday. And while I don't think Half-Life itself is very fun to play nowadays (Though Black Mesa looks like it might fix that for me), I'll always cherish it for giving me so many good memories and getting me through a few rough periods growing up. Definitely one of my all time favorite games right next to DOOM, Dungeon Keeper and Command & Conquer. Quake was a huge step for FPS after Wolf3D and DOOM, and I honestly think HL was the next huge step afterwards, because like Quake it gave us SO much. I was a Counter-Strike junkie for YEARS and I still get the itch to go back to it here and there.
  3. Your avatar suits the situation well.
  4. Here's an odd one. http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/gender-wars
  5. At first, I thought for sure this was going to be an actual prank video, like something silly was going to happen and it'd fade to black. But after watching the first few minutes I realized something. This is ROSS we're talking about. It's much more in his style to make you THINK it's a prank video, when really it's an actual legit video, and therein lies the prank! You think the prank is that it's a prank but the prank is that it's not a prank, you just think it's a prank! What a mad man...
  6. Funny, I was born in '92 and also lived in MN for 22 years of my life. Though to be honest I hate sports AND hunting/fishing. Actually I didn't like really anything about my home state, but I know I'm not the only one to feel that way. I'll play sports games if they have arcade elements in them though, like Mutant League Hockey or a good boxing game, but I could never get into sports on a hardcore level like others and it kinda freaks me out when I see and meet them during their sports seasons. I do admit I played THPS 3 when it came out to completion and was ecstatic to unlock the DOOM marine as a skater.
  7. If Ross ever talks about Phantasmagoria he better talk about the sequel. It's hilariously bad.
  8. I think it's more to do with less visual clutter so they can track other players easier.
  9. http://www.mobygames.com/developer/sheet/view/developerId,97124/ Honestly Mr. Crowther hasn't had a terrible career and was last credited in 2014 as Lead Programmer for Forza Horizon 2. Pretty interesting.
  10. I No Longer Fear The Razor Guarding My Heel
  11. Devil Daggers.
  12. The end of the world is when I realize I'm out of cigarettes.
  13. Quake on Nightmare is actually easier then Hard because the enemies become so aggressive they often just sit and spam their attack leaving them open and exploitable. I find Quake is only enjoyable on Hard and anyone accustomed to the way classic FPS handles themselves shouldn't find it a problem though, Quake has some nasty balancing issues. The Vore missile is ridiculously unfair in how freakishly well it tracks the player and the fiend's jump attack is either bugged or fucking retarded because as long as it's in the air the damage goes up incredibly fast, meaning it can literally one hit kill you in the right circumstances even if you have 200 health and full armor. Also the Spawns are just a bullshit enemy design and they were thrown in the last minute. It shows. Anyways... I too like a challenge in games and take joy in mastering its mechanics and basically gutting the thing inside and out, but there are SO many games out there that I find it hard to believe you'd become bored. Typically modern games will not be extremely hard because they're trying to appeal to a mass audience but there are some geared towards a hardcore audience. Otherwise there are plenty of indies, older games and mods for games geared towards the hardcore.
  14. I built this system a few years ago, but it currently has: OS: Windows 10 Pro 64Bit Mobo: ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0 CPU: AMD FX-8320 + Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO RAM: Kingston HyperX FURY 16GB GPU: Sapphire Radeon NITRO R9 380X 4GB PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2 HDD: Seagate 2TB Case: NZXT Phantom 410 The keyboard is a Logitech G710+ and the mouse is a Logitech G303 Daedalus Apex. I got a basic Logitech speaker set with a subwoofer and two controllers, a Logitech F710 and F310. The monitors I have are two Dell 23in, it was $200 for both so I snatched them up years ago and despite the lack of HDMI they are still going strong so I can't yet justify getting anything newer. I'm thinking about getting a Steam Controller soon. I'll also be building a second PC soon for my S/O because I have some parts laying around already like a 2GB GPU, 8GB of RAM and a 1TB Hard Drive.
  15. Grand Theft Auto? Carmageddon? Postal? Hatred? Manhunt?
