Popping foot blisters.

I don't like diagnosing myself with mental disorders because the last time I tried, I had schizoid, bipolar and psychopathy all at the same time. But this one issue has been really noticeable for the past few months. My empathic reactions have been incredibly delayed. By that, I mean that I feel absolutely nothing during moments where an empathic reaction is warranted, but after a few hours or even days I start feeling the reaction I was technically supposed to feel at the moment. When encountering people being extremely emotionally distraught or in great physical pain, I find myself just observing the whole thing without even bothering to comfort or help them. Long after the whole thing had finished do I feel a lot of sympathy, pain and understanding. A friend of mine had opened up to me about her family troubles and the absolute horrible time she had been enduring during the last few years and I all I could react was by falsely responding "I see.". I vividly remember after a few days that I found myself crying alone in my room because I suddenly felt a lot of pity and guilt for her. This really isn't a big problem for me at the moment because it's pretty easy to pretend that you feel empathy, but I figured it was something interesting to share.

I used to have a lot of ideas for such things but I currently can't find the folder where I saved all my documentations of my creative sessions. But I did have a concept of a multiplayer deathmatch game where you were constantly in dual wielding mode. You could separately switch between which hand would have which weapon and the game's depth would come in the synergy you can create out of unconventional dual-wielding choices. Like a Rocket Launcher in the right hand and a Gravity Gun in the left or a Revolver in the left hand with a Hand Grenade in the right.

That game you hate that everyone else loves.

Half-Life 2. I have trouble expressing why I dislike this game. It's just strangely uncompelling for me. Around the time I got to control a squad and assault the Combine fortress, I had lost all interest and motivation for moving on. I don't know why but the game is just incredibly uninvesting. There is just something about Half-Life 2 that feels like a stepback from Half-Life 1 which I absolutely loved alongside Opposing Force. The Gravity Gun being the only interesting weapon and the lack of brutal gibs like in Half-Life 1 may factor into it, but not that much. I guess since I wasn't exactly a gaming fan during the time it was released, I may not realize the full impact it had on the industry, but I would never really want to play through it again. -
Brutal Doom. Cranked up the difficulty by just one level and already having a hard time.

Most of my life, I always had a big thing for girls that were older than me. There is just a biting feeling of guilt for dating someone even a year younger than me. I always felt like I am leading them towards a bad example in life or something in that notion.

There is a fine line between an alias you take on the Internet and the name you wish for everyone to refer to you on a professional basis. -
Interactive Narrative Experiences/Walking Simulators

Hmm I never really thought of it like that. Do you feel that birth names sound more proper then nicknames? I've always called a person by whatever name they wanted to be called by. It's not something I'm very conscious of though I do have a pet peeve for pronunciation. For instance I've been playing Witcher 3 and it has names that are pronounced in very particular ways. I think this is due to the game being Polish and the English voice actors were told how those names are actually pronounced. What bothered me was that until a name was mentioned by a character I had no idea how the names were pronounced. I thought Skellige was pronounced Skel-egg but instead it's pronounced Skel-egg-guh and I cringe looking back on the way I initially pronounced it. I Also thought Quen was pronounced just qu-en but again I was wrong it's actually pronounced q-when. While that is not always the case, I sometimes feel like having a one-name nick is a bit too pretentious, especially for musicians. And when your nickname has a "The" in front of it, I feel even more compelled to not call you that. The Weeknd and The Edge can suck it. -
"Arrow in the knee" doesn't mean "marriage", you fucking shittards. - Me on Skyrim video comment sections.

Not really. I just really hate calling him Yahtzee. He has an actual damn name and I always preferred to use that one instead of this one-word nickname. Kinda like how I always liked to call Slash as Saul Hudson. -

@BTGBullseye: Lol, I don't even like Half-Life 2. -
Not really a big fan of indie pop rock but I'll make a pass for this one. YXwYJyrKK5A

It just snowed here a few days ago. And not some pussy snow that falls about a hair-width deep. It was reaching almost my fucking ankles. Shame I don't have pictures, though. Seriously, Mars looks pretty good right about now.

Who is your "favourite" fascist dictator? :3
PriestOfJudas replied to Selfsurprise's topic in Free-For-All
Does the dictator qualify as insane if the country greatly benefited from his rule in the long run directly due to his decisions? Because I can attest that at least 1/3 of the leaders here knew exactly what they needed to do and efficiently accomplished it, no matter how tyrannical their rule was (Genghis Khan, Stalin and Mao comes to mind). But leaders like Caligula and Idi Amin were so fucking clueless with leadership that reading their exploits feel more like reading an Onion News article than an actual history book. However my personal favorite two insane leaders are Emperor Nero of Rome and King Di Xin of Shang Dynasty of China. Nero castrated and married a boy because he looked similar to his late wife he and Di Xin took sexual pleasures from executing criminals by making them hug giant iron cylinders heated by fire until they scald to death. -
I think someone on Accursed Farms showed this to me once. To that one person, I trully thank you with all my heart. I was slowly losing interest in heavy metal before I heard this. Many thanks for revitalizing my love for it. aItNg5SDX9Q

That moment when you had finished your university assignment so early that you had to wait 4 weeks to finally submit it? Fucking torture. It's bliss once I had finally gave the prof the damn thing.

Interactive Narrative Experiences/Walking Simulators

Ben Croshaw made a pretty accurate assumption of what I think of Beyond: Two Souls. xiaB8XJqyLs I fucking despise it. Heavy Rain is pretty good though. And Life is Strange is most definitely an good WS. It's just so brimming with extremely dense detail and backstory with so much information to gather if you look for it, it is kind of like the overly detailed fantasy video game lores. That's not a bad thing for me because I am the type of person who really likes to gather that much of information through reading and listening. Life is Strange sometimes have some atrocious pieces of dialogue, but it is infinitely more enjoyable compared to its competition. @OT: While it is by no mean a walking simulator; Pony Island is a very good "Interactive Narrative Experience". It's kind of hard to explain why is it so great but like Undertale, you really have to play it yourself to understand it. If the name Pony Island kind of turns you off due to the childish undertones, I can promise you that Pony Island has a lot more to do with Satan than ponies. -

Max Payne 1. I guess I sorta enjoyed it when I first played it but now that I think about it, something about the whole bullet time mechanic seemed broken for me. As I kept playing the game, I kept waiting for the bullet time to be more satisfactory in its use rather than just some sort of spectacle the developers added. That feeling never really left me and it has increased long after finishing the game. To me, the bullet time never felt as satisfying or as useful as anyone else ever claimed it was. I still enjoy the story, but I think the later games may have did a better job implementing bullet time. -
Dota 2. Trying out the custom games are a lot of fun. Definitely reminiscent of the Warcraft 3 modding scene.
