So... How are they still getting away with this? I mean, really...? HOW do they still even make a decent amount of money? How are they even respected, at all?

Riiight... I forgot about the side effects. Their bites are apparently pretty serious without treatment, right? Actually, I don't want to know. Apparently daddy long legs have poisonous bites but they are very very weak to humans. I have enough to worry about, and it's pretty much nothing! Also, my room is like a breeding ground for spiders somehow.

Kinda in the middle. It's about an inch and a half(legspan included). Exciting for a garden spider by California standards. My camera's got a very high resolution so you can see all the details the eye can't catch. XD It's safe to say this is the first time I've found a spider adorable. It's an odd feeling. Don't worry, I'll spoiler it. I just really like the pattern on it. Aww, that's kind of cool looking. I can't sleep. I was hoping you'd scare me! Kind of reminds me of a wolf spider for some reason. All I get around my area are daddy long legs and house spiders, from what I've seen.

Is it one of those creepy tingly spiders or is it one that looks like a fly could crush it? If it's the latter, then lovely. If it's the former, I might cry myself to sleep tonight.

I figure why not so... Mine is NecronusPanda but I really only have used it for Dragon Age and Mass Effect 3. I also have Kingdoms of Amalur, which I should try at some point. The rest I either have on Steam or I'm not interested in. Does anyone even use Origin for friend interactions anymore?

I don't know if this will work for you but two things that come to mind immedietally are : Gothic (the series, if preferable) The Longest Journey (Again, the series, but the latest game is in chapters) Both of these games would make for interesting conversations. EDIT: Okay, somebody already suggested Dreamfall Chapters (The Longest Journey) so somebody probably already suggested Gothic. Sorry!

I'm still trying to get back into the whole "being part of a forums community" but my Steam, at the moment, is Robot Death Party. It's great, I know! /s

I know this sounds stupid but... Doesn't EVERYONE want to be a J.C. Denton or Adam Jensen? If it's just me, maybe I just have a natural immaturity that comes from my lack of enjoyment of anything in my life at the moment. Maybe I want my humanity to be ripped away only for me to become some kind of human machination and conclude my story with some sub-plot philosophical monologue about what it means to be human. Or, y'know, maybe I just have a wild imagination. I will only truly be worried about the current progress of technology if we invent A.I. without considering the "being human / mimicking human behaviour". We need to make A.I. more like us and not think that it has to eradicate humans to survive. Although, ironically enough, we kill each other to survive.

I think I've actually heard of this. It IS an Oblivion mod, right? It's supposed to be similar to the New Lands mods (like the Dunes of Elsweyr mod that god abandoned?), no? I think I followed the Elsweyr mod for a bit but it got abandoned in the last few years and, sadly, removed(although another version or something like that is still up). IIRC, there was another New Lands mod from Oblivion that was nearly complete but got abandoned as well. So, another paragraph that I'm writing as a "post-note" because I decided to look some of these up. The "current" Elsweyr mod is the popular "Tales from Elsweyr Anequina". The OTHER New Lands mod I was trying to mention was Hammerfell which, AFAIK, is still abandoned and was nearly completed. Now then, the REAL cream of the pie that I just found at a glance is the *amazing* project of Solstheim, Vvardenfell and Mournhold that is... Abandoned and last updated Jan. of 2013 with a Beta release. The issue with these projects is that they almost always get abandoned or released as incomplete. I understand why. From what I remember about the OLD Elsweyr mod, the mod creator got bored of it and moved onto other games. If it was still up, you'd be amazed. When I had explored it, I didn't even explore 25% of it. There was A LOT to the area as it used almost(maybe all?) the whole chunk of the Elsweyr area on the world map. I REALLY want a good Oblivion mod to be finished. Oblivion is my favourite Elder Scrolls game so far (haven't played Morrowind but I'm probably brainwashed to hate it at this point, it gets a lot of hate because it's ridiculously overrated and "hardcore") and it hasn't got a lot of completed, up-to-date expansion mods. You can do a lot with Oblivion because it still holds up today and it runs pretty well on Windows 7/8 from my experiences. The one I played(the original) had the elephant enemies, orcs in a city (it was like a stronghold) as well as a forest-town at the border and several khajiit caravans dotted around the desert. It was pretty indepth with the basic.

I have a 1920 x 1080 screen and some of the pictures in this thread (e.g. SWTOR) are too big for my screen on the "fill" option on Windows 8.1. I'm using stretch right now but I feel like that might ruin some of the pictures. If I use "fit" it has a black bar on the top and bottom, so it's a struggle to choose which one works best.

You're amazing for mentioning that one. I'm not going to get into the whole "fall of the developer" stuff but that's a big reason why I love that music. Amazing soundtracks from both of those games(point and click games, if you're interested!). I don't know if they are for sale but as I said, if you're interested... Wink wink? Would make for a good Point-And-Click Ross' Game Dungeon, I think. Maybe. Anyways, Dreamfall's song "Nothing Hurts Now" is especially amazing. I love it.

Sort of a stupid question but... Websites like those don't necessarily care about the usage of the picture being a desktop background, right? I'm thinking of collecting backgrounds for the slideshow feature because, why not? It's an iffy situation but I doubt it wouldn't be allowed, right?

Honestly, I've always just glanced at Ross' content. In the last year, I've started to watch him a lot more other than "Oh, that guy who does Freeman's Mind stuff!"

Also, and I know this is sort of a bad suggestion since it possibly requires buying a game but the concept art for Tomb Raider, the reboot, was amazing. Specifically the concept art for the environment. The reason why it possibly requires you to buy the game is that I don't think it's online. The mine challenge got bugged for me so I couldn't complete it, meaning I didn't get the concept art for the beach area. I looked it up but couldn't find it, so I assume it's not on the internet.

I just signed up because Ross told me to on Youtube. That's a good reason, right? Anyways, maybe I'll pop in every once in a while. I'm not the most intellectually advanced person you might meet but I hope I'm not too 'cringey' for you guys. Was that even an introduction? I don't know.

I found this a couple of years ago and it's been my favourite desktop background for a while now. Before you click the link, it's from Chrono Trigger and it's of the Kingdom of Zeal, one of my favourite parts of the game. Unforunately, it's one of those things where finding the source is a bit hard(for me, that is. I remember looking and it's a toughy to find). For those lacking context(play the game!
