  1. I'll try to show up if I can. My internet is pretty sickly so it might be for approx. 5 seconds.
  2. It's(it being the average product) way too overpriced, especially for an accessory. No sane person would spend more money on an accessory than the actual console or computer.
  3. Marcus, always Marcus. I'm waiting for a Fallout game where Marcus is rebuilt as a cyborg mutant that needs destroy the last remnants of the Enclave. :')
  4. I've actually been thinking about the Nexus for a long time and how they could benefit from expanding, especially since another big website shut down a few years ago. I forget the name. Also, some mods CAN be classified as games. Remember, Counter Strike was originally a mod for Half Life.
  5. Accidentally only voted for Stalin but I recently learned about Mao Zedong and Stalin in a basics History course. Mao Zedong came off as a dick to me, for the most part. Stalin is, well, Stalin. Classic SOVIET RUSSIA. Not terrible informed on the rest but from what I *think* I know about Caligula and Khan, I hate them equally. So, that's how you don't answer the OP's question at all. 10/10
  6. I know pretty much nothing about video-capturing or watchyamacallit but I've hear-said from some pretty good youtube channels Q&A's that OBS a pretty good free option for video-capturing. I might be missing a possible fact that OBS can't be used for streaming but I 'unno, I've heard OBS is a really good program for recording and the like. I think it's also very stable, so unless the lag is your computer dying from a stroke, I think using a stable program might help a lot, and I know for a fact there's a lot of free programs out there.
  7. I haven't ever been into plays or stuff like that but I've been on a field trip a few years ago to go and see a Romeo and Juliet play which was alright. I also saw Jesus Christ Super Star which was... It was good but I didn't really understand entirely what was going on because it was just so "Uh... What?" I'd definitely go and see more plays but I never like to do anything alone, so that's out the window.
  8. I don't really play "INE" or "WS" but they are both valid in their own ways. Honestly, VN(Visual Novels) get the same shit as them and don't necessarily even advertise as games - Thus the name "Visual Novel". Walking Simulators are generally the same thing except the visual part is, well, interactive for the most part(not every game does it but still). Stanley Parable was a Walking Simulator with interactivity - That's essentially what it was. This is especially true in the first game (and the second one with the "follow the lines" theme) and it's "Choose A or B" paths. Gone Home is a game that I know got a HUGE backlash and I don't think it was truly because of its "filthy degenerate walking simulator" aspect. Besides, you got to explore and discover things about the characters, the events within the world, etc. The issue I see myself is how bland it can be. Dear Ester, for example, was pretty bland from what I saw of a playthrough and it also had a pretty obscure story, like some kind of pretentious telling of a religious tale(because they tend to use puffed-up words, it's ridiculous despite 99% of them being pretty old and able to be told in modern words). It's pretty much "The people who complain about it don't even use it!" issue that still plagues the whole "sexualization in video games". Point is, it's a genre of games where if you play it, you play it. If you don't, you don't. The fact that the genre gets so much backlash makes me think about how much people like to start any kind of drama on the internet for absolutely no reason. It's a monkey playground that's been set on fire.
  9. Android because... I absolutely despise Apple and Android is what I currently have. Works fine, too. Pepsi albeit 99% of soda tastes just about the same and has the same enjoyment. Root Beer is my favourite, though. Playstation because it's what I grew up on and what I chose to enjoy and play on. NVIDIA because pretty much what I've always had, albeit I have AMD right now. Dogs, because I'm allergic to cats and I've had *horrible* experiences with cats. TRAINED dogs are generally not assholes.
  10. Well, it's supposed to thunder tomorrow where I am, so there's that. No idea how bad it will be today.
  11. The soundtrack to LISA(I think that's the first one. Not sure.) was pretty good. I'm rather cautious about playing it though. I want to make sure that playing the LISA games isn't something that I will eventually regret doing if I decide to play them all. It's not that I can't stomach dark subject matter as I was perfectly fine with it in Hotline Miami 1 & 2. Is that in anyway comparable to the LISA games? How far do the LISA games take it? I'm not against playing them, just hesitant. Honestly, it comes off as cartoony at certain parts of the game but it definitely follows a strong theme, especially if you get into the theory-side of the game series. If you play the first one, it is VERY different from Painful and Joyful, both in gameplay and theme/setting. Since you're talking about themes, it does get into some personal and real things (specifically LISA which IIRC it has some uh... Implications of bad things going on. I never got too far into it). If you can stomach implications of abuse, for example, then you're good. Doesn't get intensely worse than that, though. You really just have to play it to know for sure. Sorry I can't explain it too well.
  12. At least checkout the prequel to it. It's... Less messed up and it gives some pretext to some stuff in Painful. Soundtrack is interesting too, IIRC. EDIT: Also, first and third video isn't working. Devils Baths Boys is also under the spoiler for Forever Heat Turbo Dance, too.
  13. ...Thoughts...? Digital Homicide(or Homocide in the case of my spelling error pre-post-edit) clearly puts minimal effort into their games, despite them saying otherwise and REPEATEDLY trying to put games onto the Steam store several times. Man, at this point it's like the same criminal trying to rob the same store multiple times and saying it was a misunderstanding. At some point, it becomes *really* obvious what the truth is. Also, the guy who spoke to Jim Sterling was a snarky ass. So, there's that too. Nice person to represent your "company"!
  14. Wait, seriously? The Mechanist? If Bethesda actually makes that a *cool* character, bravo. I don't think a trailer will ever hype up The Mechanist, though.
  15. My initial impression is that it's graphics only but if they fix up the gameplay, then cool. All I know about SS1's gameplay is that it's clunky and takes time to get used to, unlike SS2's.
  16. That trailer still amazes me. If I read comic books, I'd read Deadpool with "X gon give it to ya" playing in the background, non-stop.
  17. I wouldn't call it "Japanese cyberpunk" unless you're referring to the composer, who I don't think is Japanese. Probably just a joke. Honestly, I found it in the music thread IIRC, for Ross' birthday. Apparently it was a game but it's, what, dead now? It was apparently really good? Yeah, I have the full thing in my music list on Youtube. It somehow just blends in with whatever I'm doing and becomes background sound. It's like getting immersed in a story and being shot back into reality when someone talks to you. Might just be how this type of music is (only way I can explain it is "soft", I'm not a music expert).
  18. You mean this trailer? Yeah, that's the same version used in the game. Perhaps the version I heard was a custom one used in a video, then. Anyways, I always thought their naming of characters was interesting, like for example how they used the name "Ulysses" in New Vegas on purpose. Pretty sure it's a reference to Odysseus(Ulysses being the Latin name for Odysseus, quick google search to clarify that). Although, apparently there's a novel called Ulysses(which I have no knowledge of), so that could be the reference too.
  19. Actually, that's just the 1961 recording of Blue Moon, not a cover. Because it's an addictive real-world drug that was rampantly abused and shares its addiction with its prodrug heroin, causing many morphine addicts to turn to heroin when morphine is no longer available? That was quite a problem for most of a century, you know. That's how the illicit heroin trade got started. (Also, yes, heroin was invented as a pharmaceutical.) Yeah, my mistake. There's some custom cover that was made for a trailer or something like that but one of the versions of the song(you can google it if you want, it should come up as one of the first results) is a non-vocal cover of Frank Sinatra's version.
  20. Well, I do know that the Blue Moon song on the Radio in New Vegas is a cover of Frank Sinatra's cover and isn't the original. I could probably play through FO 1 & 2 and look for the countless references but I can't be bothered. There's also A LOT, like for example the pussy cat magazine (the sneak one? Whatever one it is, it's a reference to a real adult magazine).
  21. I'd agree to it as a suggestion if only because it's kind of obscure and a very very interesting game, albeit I never got the chance to try it.
  22. Splitscreen doesn't really work on most computer screens. My screen is 1920x1080 and it's not even a computer screen, it's a TV screen that I'm using for my computer. If you think of TV screens, they tend to be ridiculously bigger than your average TV screen and even then splitscreen tends to be annoying to use.
  23. Should add you need mods to fix it as the game was a very rushed thing and the PC version got the short end of the straw with it. Still, a really good game. Yeah, I really pushed it when I played it vanilla. I got stuck on top of a tiny cardboard box once.
  24. The only thing I can suggest that is a big flaw in many many games is character development - If you're going to have any kind of character development, don't be loose with it. Actually put effort into it other than "Hey, here's some dialogue for one quest! Wow! Now we're friends! Okay, bye forever!" I don't know how in-depth you're going to go, but don't be like most games and do it half-assed. Such a waste of good potential when character development goes half-assed. I think smaller but stronger enemies fit for more "realistic" atmospheres, unless you intend to have fodder enemies that are very weak but annoyingly high in numbers. Personally, I like the less-but-stronger, especially for RPGs. Makes it more fun for me. The way you explained your intent to make the combat seems to fit how I'm envisioning this game - Defensive combat, perhaps a bit of stealth or focusing on ambushing enemies? Hit and run tactics? Not a lot of games do that, so it would be new. As for the story, it seems like you're going for a dark atmosphere, which I suppose could work but then again it's starring two children. Interested to see how that would work out. It sounds different, so that's a good thing. I'm more into action-RPGs and, at times, turn-based RPGs but the way you've described it makes it sound interesting, especially with defensive combat which really isn't done a lot. It's either having a party of members with a weak support character or being an individual with high power that requires a lot of skill.
  25. You really have a sadistic attitude sometimes, don't you? There wasn't even a pinch of effort going to into arguing, regardless of what you think. Actually, not even going to bother. Not worth my time(the 20 daily minutes I spend reading posts here is better spent elsewhere). It's important to get it to the *right* place. Emails are generally cared about less than physical mail. The best anyone can do to a business is spam their physical mailboxes rather than the internet mails. More noticeable and clutters up easily, causing distress and worry. Electronic mail on the other hand is unnoticeable and easily removed, even if not automatically. If efficiency is the plan here, emailing isn't very efficient. Then again, EA might not even have a post-office setup. Who knows. Maybe they only get emails.
