  1. So what kind of broken stuff are you currently having to deal with? My monitor's display went all sorts of wonky on me today. The old bastard currently displaying numerous vertical bars and and segmented text. It'll be amazing if I can post this without any typos as I'm still using the monitor .
  2. No Dave, you're not allowed to look into my soul. I don't care how many times you ask.
  3. Finally, my dreams of become a death metal singer will finally come true.
  4. I had no idea GOG had a podcast. I'm going to do a bit of catching up beforehand. If anyone want's to join me here's a link to a playlist of their previous podcasts. Overall this is very cool. I wonder what topics they'll cover. Ross also gets to talk to more Polish people.
  5. @BTGBullseye If you'd like to PM me I'd be interested in knowing how it plays. I myself am going to wait till it goes down to 25% or 50% depending how impulsive I am feeling when I go to get it.
  6. Nice review Alyxx, I myself had an interesting experience with Undertale. Initially I was very hesitant about playing Undertale because I hate JRPG combat and have stirred past pretty much every JRPG out there. I've had friends tell me that I really missed out on great games like the old Final Fantasy games. But for me mechanics always came first. If I absolutely hated the mechanics of the game then I wouldn't care about the story. I'll put up with passable mechanics like with MMOs and some WRPGs. But when it came to most JRPGs their combat was so convoluted, uninivolved and boring that I couldn't tolerate it. So I played the demo instead. To my surprise I didn't find Undertale's combat to be unbearable like with previous JRPGs I played. I continued playing and was told to not to look up anything regarding Undertale as I would find it more enjoyable this way. You know what happened? The whole non-combat aspect of Undertale completely flew over my head and I ended up murdering everything in sight. It never registered for me once that I should be saving these characters instead of killing them. I was just so used to the conventional idea of what combat is that I never consider peace within the combat system an option. I only figured out that I was doing something wrong during my second run. I took the time to see what my options were during combat and to my surprise there were non-combat options. At first I was like "What is the point of those options?". I played around with the options and found that I didn't kill the thing I was fighting. Then I finally got it. Took me practically forever to figure it out though. Also I didn't really feel bad when I killed Toriel. From my perspective she had abducted my character and imprisoned him. So in my mind fighting her was purely self-defense. Gosh, I really can't think outside of the box now can I?
  7. I thought this would be an interesting topic to cover. I ran across a trailer for a game called Deadbolt. I've watched trailers before but I've never felt quite so hooked on them like with this one. It starts out pretty simple but it gradually builds up throughout the trailer. This is a very tiny detail but the fact that footage is in sync with music I thought was very interesting. With previous trailers I've watch the music and the footage didn't sync up at all. They just seemed at odds with eachother with previous trailers. Whereas the music and the footage from the Deadbolt trailer seem to complement each other very well. Needless to say I thought it was amazing. Have you ever had a trailer really grip you and not let go? P186Ev3hSQo
  8. As much as I dislike AlphaOmegaSin he would be perfect for causing a giant stink about this.
  9. I"ve already played through Human Revolution. I have been kinda curious about Invisible War though. Maybe I would like Invisible War for what people didn't like about it. From what I've heard one of the criticisms for Invisible War is that the levels were too small and compact. Sounds perfect to me. IMO Deus Ex's levels are way too long. My issues are largely with the lengthy level design and mechanical emptiness. These aspects are so endemic to Deus Ex's design that I might as well be playing something completely different. At it's core I do not like Deus Ex. I highly doubt my opinion will have changed in a few years. This my second attempt to play Deus Ex as my first attempt was a few years ago. My opinion still hasn't changed. I didn't enjoy playing it then and I most certainly don't enjoy playing it now. I wanted to find out why people considered it to be one of the best games ever made. But I just don't see it. Deus Ex is just barely competent at best IMO. It seems to me like Deus Ex is just another example of a hyperbolic circlejerk by it's own fans who're incapable of looking at it critically. I just need to walk away and never look back. For me Deus Ex stands as nothing more then an overhyped relic.
  10. Alright I think it's fairly safe to say that I don't like Deus Ex. In fact I fucking hate it right now. I've reached another breaking point at the Naval Shipyards. It's yet another level that I find to be way too long with nothing in it. Hong Kong was pretty long too but it at least had some variety with it's routes whereas the Naval Shipyards has nothing. I'm trying so hard to like Deus Ex but I keep finding more reasons not to. At this point I feel like I'm really reaching. It shouldn't be this hard for me to like Deus Ex. But I just don't. The "Choices" you can make in Deus Ex are literally pointless. I can down one obvious route or I can frustrate myself and go looking secret route to get extra stuff. Let me fucking tell you I do not need anymore stuff. I've been stockpiling stuff like a fucking hoarder. I have 20 lockpicks, 20 multitools, 20 biocells, my ammo is maxed out and I'm constantly running across more stuff that I have maxed out. Why does Deus Ex insist on giving me so much? I have it on the highest difficulty setting so you would expect resources to be scarce. Nope not on Deus Ex's watch. You get to have your cake and eat it too apparently without any notion of an actual fucking challenge. Yeah know it would be nice if the routes had something novel to offer me instead of another fucking multitool which I can't carry. More to the point who the fuck cares which way I go? Deus Ex is a linear game so it really doesn't matter which way I go. I've mentioned previously that Deus Ex's mechanics have no depth to them. This has become more readily apparent as I've progressed through the game. I kid you not there's an augmentation to reduce power drain of all augmentations which also drains more power while active. Umm, why does this augmentation even exist? I hope that it ultimately costs less to use because otherwise it would be pointless and redundant. Now it's just redundant. Initially, I thought the soundtrack was pretty good. But after listening to it over and over again for several hours my brain was practically melting out of my ears. Now if the soundtrack had more variety to it I probably wouldn't have mind it. But there's nothing but Techno and I can't stand it. Alexander Brandon has done much better soundtracks then this. Where's the guy who did the soundtrack for Unreal? Needless to say I'm pretty pissed with Deus Ex. If Deus Ex was an actual person it would be tempting for me to not take it to a back alley and shiv it with a broken glass bottle. Seriously, fuck this overrated garbage.
  11. I've had a similar issue with alcohol. Where I would initially fall asleep but when I wake up it was like not getting any sleep at all. Just plain awful. Anyway I'd suggest you stick with teas. Chamomile mixed in with milk does wonders.
  12. Agreed, this is absolutely fucking maddening.
  13. Sometimes you've got to stop yourself when no one else is willing to restrain themselves. Yes, it exactly as unfair as it sounds and trust me this is something very difficult to learn. But if you can take some responsibility(Even if it isn't your fault. Emphasis on the not your fault part.) and say " I'm stopping this right here, right now" you've shown just how much control you have over the situation. The fact that you can say no and not post is quite an achievement in of itself compared to other people on the internet who have less restraint.
  14. Yeah, can we just agree that the way we view relationships is entirely subjective? It's very clear that we all have differing opinions on the subject and I suggest we leave on a peaceful note rather then continuing this.
  15. @Seattleite I just felt that Psychotic Ninja was being unfair to you. Even though his opinion is in the majority that doesn't make it any less subjective. How you view relationships is your own business as it is for the rest of us. I for instance find relationships to be completely repulsive and I would never willingly enter one. Whether it's natural or not doesn't matter to me. It's simply a view that I feel content with having.
  16. Seattleite's probably more concerned with the freedom he has within his relationship rather then the actual meaning of it. Relationships don't necessarily need to have a point to them. In fact at times they can be rather pointless.
  17. I admit I never really understood the appeal of being in a relationship. I just don't get the depth that people seem to impose on them. If I had the choice getting to know someone or play a video game I'd rather go play a video game. People are boring.

  21. I regret sucking on that lemon for so long.
  22. I've heard good things about Steven Universe. But the art style kept me away from watching it. The art style just looks strange and wonky to me.
  23. No, I just wanted to say hi.
  24. Yup, took me long enough.
