  1. Well color me surprised except I'm not.
  2. Bioshock, while I loved the atmosphere there are points in the story that are stupid and contrived. At the beginning I thought it was fine,I liked all the audiologs telling me all the little details of each given area. Only when it gets to Jack's backstory is when things turn to shit. Honestly why does Jack's Backstory even exist? Bioshock would've been infinitely better without it.
  3. Immortal.
  4. Jontron made a video regarding the Nostalrius server shutdown. It Looks like this incident is getting some traction. EzT8UzO1zGQ
  5. Last time I checked he was going to jump out of an airplane without a parachute.
  6. How dare you judge Flash the Sloth for his life choices. He could walk fast if he wanted to but ableist microagressions like that will only discourage him further. You should be ashamed of yourself.
  7. Well a guilty pleasure would imply I have some standards for myself to begin with. In regards books that I know are awful I did once read the entire Dark Elf Trilogy by R.A Salvatore . For those who're familiar with Mr. Salvatore's works I can say they're at least entertaining if nothing else.
  8. My views on relationships are very different compared to most people so please take what I say with a grain of salt. I've never really cared for relationships to be perfectly honest. I just can't see them as something I'd be interested in pursuing. I don't really see the appeal of someone else providing me with comfort like that as I've always preferred to support myself in every regard. If you honestly think you're going be single forever then I would encourage you to make peace with it and move on. I think that would be the best thing to because you very will might be alone for the rest of your life and the thing is it's okay to be alone. Also you should totally become a full blown wizard. OT: Feeling neutral.
  9. Typical console peasant behavior. They must be cleansed of their console filth and embrace the glorious PC master race. Only then will their sins be forgiven by our lord and saviour Gaben. May lord Gaben smile upon you.
  10. Cow vomit moments are the best kind of moments.
  11. That thing looks like something that was regurgitated by a cow.
  12. Okay I have to ask, who is this Blighty person I keep hearing of?
  13. I'm with you on KOTOR II and Planescape Torment. If I created a list for the most well written video games Planescape Torment would be at the top and KOTOR II would be just below it. Sadly I can't really make a list with just two games. Seriously, well written video games a practically nonexistent. IIRC I played Neverwinter Nights 2 until midgame, hit a breaking point and never picked it up again. I seriously can't remember what happens in NWN 2. I just remember it being very boring. Obsidian usually does good writing but their games are often infested with bugs as well. Though I've heard good things about Pillars of Eternity so I might get around to playing at some point.
  14. Yes I was referring to Baldur's Gate II. Probably should append that since it's uncommon to abbreviate Baldur's Gate as BG.
  15. BG II(Baldur's Gate II), NWN I and KOTOR I. I still think the character progression in these games are great(except for KOTOR I because fuck KOTOR I). But man, if these games don't show that Bioware can't write for shit then I don't know what will. I'll start with BG II as it's easily the worst of the bunch IMO. Let me put it this way, I've beaten BG I whereas I haven't spend more then 20 mins with BG II once I figured out where the plot was going. BG I didn't require you to rescue Imoen who btw is single handedly one of the most annoying characters ever written in gaming IMO and the fact that most of the plot revolves around rescuing her is. NWN I and KOTOR I aren't nearly as bad but their stories still suffer from being egregiously boring trite. Both stories in NWN I and KOTOR I are basically fetch quests. Go find/touch the four thingies to get the big reward thingy at the end and that's as far they ever go. Outside of KOTOR I having a pointless midgame plot twist they're pretty similar if you boil them down.
  16. I've started the first few modeling drafts for the farm barn. I'll post some screenshots once I feel I'm happy with them
  17. I'm kinda of an oddball when it comes to reading books. Out of all the books I've read the only ones I can say I've legitimately enjoyed reading were manuals and textbooks. If a book isn't teaching me something, I lose interest fast and my enjoyment plummets. Writing essays on each chapter helps as I'm doing something alongside reading. But I'd still say I enjoyed reading manuals and textbooks more.
  18. Alright I found a workaround. I just paused the video at the end of the RGD DarkSpore episode at the highest visual quality setting, pressed my print screen key, pasted it into paint and saved it as a .png file. That's probably the highest quality image I can get. Do I need ask Ross for permission before I upload the graphic for other people to use in their modeling projects? I probably don't need to worry about it but it never hurts to ask first. Edit: I've crop the individual graphics away from each other and there are somethings I've noticed. The grain silos are heavily obscured by the farm barn so I barely have any graphics to work with. They are also tilted at an angle so I can't just mirror them. Are the grain silos modeled off of any particular grain silo or are they purely custom? Also the scarecrow is pretty indistinct and blobby looking when viewed close up. I can try to model the scarecrow off of the picture but I'll really have to wing it.
  19. Do you have a file of Accursed Farms ending graphic that Ross uses at the end of each video? That would be the best image for me to reference as I model. It also appears to have a large resolution which will help me take in all the detail.
  20. Okay, should I just do whatever I want in regards to detail level/polygon count then?
  21. I'll take a crack at this. I've made some pretty good models in the past. It's been a while though it shouldn't be hard for me to get my modeling brain juice flowing again. I could never figure out how to make decent textures I so I'll make some serviceable UV maps instead. For reference what is the average polygon count for the Witcher 2 assets Ross is using? I want to make sure that the models don't look jarring when sitting next to other assets. They should seem like they belong together.
  22. To start I'm going to abbreviate Interactive Narrative Experiences and Walking Simulators to INE and WS for the sake of convenience. What's your opinion on the new INE and WS genres? I have mixed feelings on both. I liked INE the Stanley Parable. I thought all the little tricks it did to mess with the player was rather unique. Now onto the WS genre. I can't help but see the whole WS genre as potential threat to video game development as you only need only the ability to walk to be apart of it. Case in point being Everybody's Gone to the Rapture. Critics practically tore it to shreds for what little substance it had to offer. I think the WSs genre might set bad precedent for video game development in general if it's left unchecked because IMO it seems like it's trying to get away with doing as little amount of effort as possible.

  24. I think the main problem with Arch is the fact that it's a pure, cutting edge, rolling release distro. There's definitely a barrier to entry when it comes to rolling release distros if you compare them to non rolling release distros. If you're used to just updating whenever there's an update available then you will break packages in Arch. That's something you'll have to unlearn if you want to use Arch. It took me a while to figure this out and in the process my Arch VMs broke like 7 times. That's what I like about Manjaro. It's a rolling release distro but it's stable when compared to Arch. The devs took their time to make sure that none of the packages they forked from Arch were broken. If the packages were broken then they would hold off making those packages available until it was fixed for the stable branch while simultaneously making it available to the unstable branch. It's the best of both worlds IMO.
  25. I'm trying to remember where I last saw this. About 2 months ago I ran across an article that was talking about a scientist who made grass fiber biodegradable condoms. It was a really strange article and I can't find it again. Google's being rather unhelpful. I wonder if those articles were taken down for some reason. But yeah you could totally digest them since they're made out of grass fiber. How did I come to a point in my life where I'm now discussing the digestibility of condoms? Eating a condom sounds like something someone on Jackass would do. I'm willing to bet they already have.
