  1. Again it's something that I've built up in my mind for many years until it was as tall as a skyscraper and as impenetrable as a fortress. I don't know if I can get down from the heights my fear, paranoia, anger, hatred and of course ego. I am so mentally fucked.
  2. Well time for more ego again. I've came to the conclusion that I'm straight but I'm in denial about it. Why? Well firstly it has to do with the fact that I could live without ever having a partner. That's been the primary motivator for me believing that I was asexual. The idea that I could live without something that most of the human population couldn't has given me this sense of great independence. It felt amazing like nothing could hold me back. As you can imagine this little revelation of mine was an incredibly crushing one at that. I'm left feeling disappointed in myself for not being as great as I thought I was. That I can't live without this void that my brain has itself put there? That's not my choice and I don't want it to be there but my brain says otherwise. I can't help but feel like my brain is holding me back from doing more important/enjoyable things rather than hunting down a partner for who knows how many goddamn years. This is not the way I like to look at myself and vehemently refuse acknowledge what is being done against my will. I don't care how much false pain I have to endure I will endure it for my own sake. I will not lose my identity to something this disgustingly primal. Sorry about the ramble. I'm pretty angry and split on this issue. Complying with what my brain wants effective destroys what I've built up for so many years and I'm not okay with that.
  3. Okay does anyone know how to install the Mindgrid weapon sounds for Quakespasm? I've tried extracting the .pk3 file which gave me a sound folder and I put it in my id1 folder. Still doesn't load and Quakespasm does support .wav files.
  4. Jeb what kind of software are you using? I tried making my own music once with a program called LMMS(Linux Multimedia Music Studio). Now despite the name it works on Windows and Mac too. From my own experience LMMS can crash occasionally (make sure to save your projects often.) but it's free and it's way better than nothing. Not only does LMMS include a ton of instruments you can also download more instruments known as VST plugins. I honestly know nothing about composing music so I wasn't able to get much out of it. But that's my fault not LMMS's. maybe you'll get more use out of it than I did. There's plenty of videos on Youtube to help you get acclimated with LMMS. Though I learned how to use LMMS mostly from just playing around with it. https://lmms.io/
  5. Alright I'm at the gates of Nightmare difficulty. LET'S FUCKING DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Have you given your Guerrilla a hug today? That's all they want really, not war. If only people hugged their guerrillas more then the world would be a much more peaceful place.
  7. I actually prefer center-gun shooting as opposed to right/left handed shooting because it aligns with the crosshair more accurately. While it doesn't make sense from a realistic standpoint because you don't have a third arm growing out from the center of your chest I also find it hard to believe that a bullet that was fired from your right/left would make a 90 degree turn dead straight ahead. That's why if you have right/left handed shooting the gun is always at a 45 degree angle towards the center of the screen. It's also worth noting that iron sights in modern military shooters is basically a step back to center-gun shooting.
  8. The problem is they won't be happy no matter what you do. Yes they could be happy, but they let life/work get to them and so they choose not to be. So being nice to them is pointless because that's a choice they alone have to make. I did the exact same thing you're doing right now a few years back and it was so unbelievably draining. People only remembered me for the bad mistakes I did. It didn't matter that I was trying to be nice, it never mattered that I was trying to be nice. So I said "fuck it" and never looked back. I am still having to deal with the fact that nothing I do matters but at least I've stopped indulging the illusion that it ever did. So Jeb please don't let people push you around, fight back. Every victory you make for yourself is always something worth fighting for and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Remember it's their choice and their choice alone to wallow in their own self-fulfilling misery. Don't let that be your choice too. Anyway enough of this super depressing stuff. Now time for super happiness.
  9. What's wrong with pissing people off? Unless I'm specifically told not to I do it all the time and I don't care what other people think. If I'm being insulted I usually chuck the insult straight back at them. As far as I'm concerned it's their fault for getting that frustrated with me in the first place thus making me superior to them because I didn't get mad at them. .Plus I sorta love watching people lose their shit. It's like watching a firecracker, except the firecracker verbally explodes rather than literally. The salt is delicious.
  10. Ross are you going to continue hosting PS2 play sessions or are you going to move on to something else?
  11. Ross knows it won't be the same experience he mentions this in the RGD for BattleForge at 14:27. However the least a company can do is release the source code for a game that fans will no longer have access to. At which point the game's life and reputation will be in their hands rather than the developers. Now I do agree that it's not the most ideal experience but it's better than outright killing the game. kmvcJuBOaQE That's specific to Russia though. I can't remember if Russia doesn't have copyright laws or has much more looser interpretations of them but I've never heard anyone say "I'm not playing this game because shitty Russian servers exist for it.". That doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
  12. That was glorious Selfsurprise. I almost fell out of my chair laughing.
  13. So just how likely is PS2 going wined up on the chopping block here? Is it still making Daybreak a good amount of cash? Though that still hasn't stopped game companies from killing games that were profitable. Also does this mean that Ross might stop doing PS2 play sessions if Daybreak decides they aren't going to do anything for PS2?
  14. Why, Quake 1 has got fantastic atmosphere and a great industrial soundtrack by Trent Reznor himself. Every Quake after 1 is pretty generic IMO.
  15. Speaking of Quake has anyone found any mods similar to Brutal Doom for it? all I could find was a mod called Kleshik https://sourceforge.net/projects/kleshik/ and I'm pretty sure Kleshik only affects multiplayer too whereas I'm looking for a full-on conversion like Brutal Doom.
  16. Not being combat centered is not an excuse for having terrible combat. if Fallout 1 and 2 were going to half-ass the combat this badly then they shouldn't have it in the first place. In terms of turn based strategy Fallout Tactics fixed the issue of the combat dragging it's feet like it did in 1 & 2 by giving you up to six characters. What's annoying is how simple this solution is. Whoever was in charge of the combat obviously didn't give two shits about whether it was good or not. IMO If you can't get one of your core mechanics right then it shouldn't be there. The combat in Fallout 1 & 2 was such a turn off for me that I don't care as to what I may be missing out on. I also think the setting is boring as hell too but I digress.
  17. Well then I look forward to your 20 paragraphs Necro. Morrowind is my favorite game of all time. But I'm always up for well reasoned arguments and looking at Morrowind from a different angle. I could say the exact same for Skyrim, that piece of utter fucking garbage. I've burned Skyrim down to a crisp, danced on it's ashes and taken a piss on them for good measure. I'd be more than happy do it again if you'd like. Consider this my invitation to a duel. If you'd like to proceed then we'll shall begin under one condition. I've not played any of the DLC for Skyrim so we'll talk strictly about vanilla Skyrim and vanilla Morrowind respectively. As a gesture of good faith I will let go first. You're more than welcome to decline if you'd prefer not to. I will respect your wishes whichever you choose.
  18. If the play session starts at 2pm EST there's no way I'll be able to make it. I wish everyone else a fun play session.
  19. What's that, you want me to run setLayour(null);? Okay, here's a fat stack of null reference errors coming your way and I'm not going to tell anything about them.
  20. Fallout Tactics: I really don't get why Fallout Tactics got as much flak as it did. It's genuinely the only old Fallout game that I enjoyed playing. The combat is functional and not half-assed like with 1 and 2. Deus Ex Invisible War: IMO Deus Ex 1 had worn out it's welcome with it's length and it felt like I was trudging through the whole game. So a more condensed version of Deus Ex was what I was looking for. On top of that it actually felt like an FPS and with no "Tactical" bullshit attached.
  21. Of course, Vlad the Impaler's equine of choice.
  22. Then I would argue that the US doesn't have the capacity of being strict. Look at Prohibition and the War on Drugs. Both instances where the US tried to ban something and inadvertently created an illegal market that was more lucrative than the previously legal market because of it's illegal status. It's psychologically enticing to do something illegal and possibly get away with it. If 80% of the US population were unable to obtain firearms legally then there would inevitably be a loophole that would grant them that access again and the demand for firearms would be much higher than it would have been otherwise.
  23. I Don't believe there is any direct correlation between strict gun controls and lower rates of crime. Look at South America, the countries in South America that have strict gun controls hasn't stopped that general area from housing one of the largest cesspools of crime and numerous cartels.
  24. No offense Selfsurprise but I think you may have contradicted yourself. The Left is using the Orlando Shooting as a platform for Gun Control. Same goes for the Right, just replace guns with Muslims. Both instances are using the Orlando Shooting victims as props for their propaganda, are knee jerk reactions to fear and I don't think for a second that either one of them is correct. As a US citizen I think there's a definite concern for what sort of effect Gun Control may have here if it gets implemented. Take a look at The War on Drugs and see how well the US did in actually banning drugs. By that I mean not at all. The War on drugs essentially added fuel to the fire that was an illegal market and I see no difference with Gun Control. Sure you start off with a basic background check which on it's own I have no issue with since guns are still available to the vast majority of the public. But what if it doesn't stop the shootings in the US? Well then it may be used as an excuse to implement more restrictions until the public no longer has access to guns. Criminals won't just stop because they no longer have access to guns legally. All they have to do is illegally smuggle some guns because they're outside of the law. Now the public is even more at risk as result, not less.
