I find myself appreciating the little things in video games. As a game designer I know when things will be the same but when they're not I pay very close attention to them because they seem as though they were cared for by delicate hands. Whoever the developer was for the given thing had carved their own particular design philosophy into it. * Leveling in The Witcher 3 Witcher 3's Leveling system at first isn't very notable at first but it's the way it was handled that really take it over the top for me. In the Witcher 3 Geralt only levels when something important has occurred and nothing else. So not only is it virtually impossible to grind, thus make it the same as many other leveling systems it also serves to highlight those moments. Every time you handle some situation smartly you feel it because you get more exp from it. Whereas had you handled the situation like a complete moron then you would be rewarded with similar exp and feel like one. * Fallout 2's Combat Initially I hated Fallout 2's combat. As I kept playing I got used to it but didn't love it either. Then the big moment happened, I had just acquired a new revolver from a person I killed earlier and I wanted to go see what this baby could do. So I went outside and aimed my revolver at some random thug. Now this shot had a 55% chance to hit as I was a fair bit away from the thug. But I took the shot and not only did it hit the shot blew his arm clean off for 74 DAMAGE!!!! My eyes were fixed on what the combat prompt was telling me and I was completely baffled at what had just occurred. I was thinking "There's no way that could be right" but then I realized that's exactly what happened. It was fucking magical, perfect and insane all at the same time. I doubt I will ever see something like that again.

Um no, Ross is literally a mad street preacher. If you haven't watched Ross's content that isn't just his comedy. If you really think that you're far too invested in him as an authority figure. It's really unhealthy to make idols out of the people you watch on Youtube.

Fallout New Orleans filed for trademark

Bethesda always butchers the lore/game mechanics in their games because each game is being made by a new and different team each time. If you look at the credits for Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim outside of Todd Howard there are virtually no similarities amongst their respective teams. They might as well be considered separate entities because their teams are so vastly different. -
Which JC Denton is your favorite? IMO albino JC Denton is the best JC Denton.

I disliked Bioshock 1 and don't really have any desire to play it again. I kinda wished that I had played System Shock 2 first instead of Bioshock because they're the same game and so playing one game effectively spoils the other. I felt like I was having more fun with SS2 than Bioshock 1. I really wish that I had foreseen that.

It's not just that the environments aren't different it's that they're so dull and uninteresting. Fallout 1 & 2's environments are soulless, artless, uninspired, generic husks which quite frankly are an embarrassment to some IRL deserts that have some pretty unique characteristics. In general Fallout 1 & 2's art direction is pretty damn terrible.\ OT: Grim Dawn

I don't know what it is about Deus Ex pacifist runs. Pacifist runs on Deus Ex aren't challenging and that playstyle is virtually indistinct from a genocidal run. Outside of ammo conservation and a few more items you get from NPCs(which you don't need since there's plenty of items lying out in the open for you to take) I can't think of a good reason for limiting your playstyle in this way. With Deus Ex you should be experimenting with your playstyle (within the given boundaries of the game so you don't break it.) as much as possible in order to get most out of playing Deus Ex. Yet pacifists not only insist that playing pacifist is the only "correct" way of playing Deus Ex but they also insist on breaking the game in the process so that they don't have to kill anyone, why? Shouldn't that be like a sign that your doing something wrong if you have to break the game in order to play the way you intend? Why don't you mod the game to accompany your playstyle rather than having to go through this rather jarring and glitchy experience? I'm not condemning this playstyle but it does bring up a fair amount of questions and I find it to be rather befuddling. By the way if anyone wants to get the absolute most out of Deus Ex please by all means get GMDX http://www.moddb.com/mods/gmdx before you play. As a newcomer to Deus Ex there are so many little niggles with the original version that it drove me insane to keep playing and as far as I'm aware GMDX fixed all of them. Not to mention it adds a ton of new mechanics. You have no idea how much ledge grabbing adds to the game.

Fallout 2: People keep saying that Fallout 3 and 4 don't feel like 1 and 2. What on earth are these people talking about? Even though I'm having a lot of fun with Fallout 2 it's setting is generic as fuck. I mean you're in a post apocalyptic desert with 50s iconography. How is that interesting? I just don't understand these people that find it so intriguing when from my perspective it really isn't.

Was No Man's SKy doomed to fail?

JCG9YLeIB98 Best explanation video I've watch in regards to No Man's Sky. -
It's probably because he has more fans in the USA than in the EU. I don't see any other reasons why he would choose servers that give him bad ping.

Could be your HDD. I had a PC once that would randomly shut down for no reason. I replaced the PSU and nothing happened. But then when I wiped the HDD and reinstalled Windows on to it stopped randomly shutting down.

Alien and distant, I've joined other gaming based forums like this one to see if I have any common grounds with other people and can relate to them through gaming. I realized that doesn't work at all. Once I got down to specifics such as skill levels, preferences and the video games themselves I eventually realized I couldn't possibly be anymore different from everyone on this forum. Outside of the love for gaming I feel like can't truly relate my thoughts to anyone because they aren't on the same level as I am. Most people are moderate when it comes to gaming and there's nothing wrong with that. But I'm nonetheless worlds apart from most people and there's nothing I can do about it. I'm an obsessive scholar stuck in his ivory tower desperately clawing his way out in the hopes of knowing that he isn't alone in this world. But the outside isn't meant for his kind and he feels this in every fiber of his being.

Could someone recommend me some industrial metal? I'm looking for something along the lines of NIN and definitely not Rammstein or KMFDM. I know that's awfully specific I was just wondering anyone might know. I really enjoyed SIN and The Hand that Feeds.

Fallout 2: I'm enjoying Fallout 2 and I can't figure out why which is weird. Like I can't give you a reason why I'm playing Fallout 2 except that I'm playing Fallout 2. Usually I can describe what makes a game fun pretty well but I couldn't give you a reason why Fallout 2 outside of saying it's just fun.

Games Not Being Difficult Anymore
Heliocentrical replied to Heliocentrical's topic in Gaming in general
It's not just randoms whole groups can be toxic too and that's all I was able to find when I tried to look for one. As I said I've yet to find even one group that was well-behaved and I don't know how to find one. -

That and I refuse to tolerate toxic, screaming, insane, chimpanzee communities that games like CS, LoL and Overwatch are notorious breeding grounds for. There probably are a few communities that are well-behaved but I have yet to see even one and I don't know where to look. In my opinion playing without a team is infinitely better than playing with a team. You don't have to worry about communication or anyone else's skill level except your own. I don't mind playing in teams with player's with lesser skill levels then mine but if that's the case then I shouldn't be playing competitively alongside them. If I notice any ineffective play and I'm playing to win then I'll inevitably grow to hate those people because I'll feel like I'm being held back by them and it's the same case for them as well. I've acknowledged what's occurring and I refuse to add to an already toxic environment. You can play to win or to just have fun but you can't do both. Trying to do both is the sole reason that competitive scenes around team-based games are as toxic as they are. -
Well I already have an R9 280. What about Blender? Interestingly enough I found out that Blender can do video editing and I already installed it for 3D modeling purposes so if I use Blender I wouldn't need to install another program. Another question I was wondering is could I record raw gameplay to the SSD that I'm going to be editing the source files on? Raw gameplay footage would be the source files that I'm editing.

Well I despise working in teams so Dota 2, LOL, TF2 and Overwatch are right out. I think the new UT4 is trying to start up a competitive scene so maybe I should check that out when it happens. Starcraft 2's got a pretty good competitive scene too. -

I don't recall Zenimax or Bethesda ever holding a grudge against Obsidian. Was there something going on behind the scenes or did you noticed something hinting at some sort of grudge? I'm genuinely curious now. -
I think I understand now. So basically each SSD would be used for a single task but that task would be able to run at the SSD's maximum speed. Whereas if I had 1 SSD that was used for both reading and writing tasks along with storing other stuff it's speed would become bottlenecked by those other things. As for video editing software I think I'll go with Lightworks since there's a free version of it. Now so that I don't bottleneck one of my SSDs I would want to install Lightworks on my HDD like I would normally correct? This is all quite fascinating. I really didn't know much in regards to storage and tasks until I gave a thought as to how it all works and this all makes perfect sense now that I'm thinking about it.
-
What exactly are the benefits of using two SSDs as opposed to just one? I still don't quite understand that.

No one gets my ZP references. OT: Quake I The further I go the more insane it gets, just the way I like. I'm currently on E2M7 and it is intense.

I think you mean Jew Sex. Jew Sex traditional occurs after a rabbi has given his blessing and often through a hole in a bed sheet.
