  1. Oh yeah, I complete forgot about Speedrunners.
  2. I'm aware of this common courtesy to preface any story they've encountered and others might not have as spoilers. I find this practice to fascinating so I've decided to examine it. While I do preface spoilers for other people out of politeness I myself am not bothered if I encounter them. Unless I know that a story is going to be really good and just haven't experienced it yet I usually don't go out of my way to avoid them. To be honest I don't understand where this sensitivity stems from since any information related to the story is a spoiler and this courtesy pertains to even the most minor of plot points. Not to mention spoilers become irrelevant over time if their well known enough. For instance I can say that Darth Vader is Luke's father without upsetting most people since even if most people haven't seen the original Star Wars Trilogy the concept itself is so ingrained that in pop culture that people know it intuitively. But if I said that in the 1970s people would be pretty upset since at time it wasn't well known.
  3. It depends on how action-oriented or player-dependent a given title is. It doesn't matter if say a turn based strategy or point and click is locked at 30 FPS because those genres require almost no direct input from the player. At most you're making a couple of clicks and that's it. There isn't a whole lot of emphasis on direct action due to the way those games are designed as well. However things get muddled as more action-oriented or player-dependent elements are present in the game. If your game is real time it's not unreasonable for a player to get frustrated from noticing that their input is delayed if they notice it. Mind you input delay can come from various sources but I digress. Games like Super Meat Boy(a 2D platformer) and Hotline Miami(a top down 1 hit 1 kill shooter) which require an insane amount of skill and reflex would most definitely suffer from a 30 FPS cap. This is especially true for competitive games like Starcraft II and Unreal Tournament 4 because in those games your action is down to the wire and you need every edge you can get if you're to be competitive. The concept of getting every single possible edge doesn't end with FPS either. For instance I got a mouse with 5 different settings of DPI(Dots Per Inch) and a keyboard that doesn't require you to bottom out(pressing a key all the way to the bottom) in order send input. In fact I am considering purchasing a mouse with better DPI since mine only goes up to as high as 8200 DPI when mice can have DPI settings as high as 16000. It gets insane and not every gamer needs to be as insane as I am nor should they as I am an extreme case. This varies from person to person but I would tend to say people who play action oriented games are gonna be a lot more sensitive to an FPS lock than say people who play turn based strategy games and point and clicks. I'll set my settings down as low as they can go if that means I'll get a consistent 60 FPS and that bare minimum for me. The higher the framerate the better IMO. I want to emphasize that this is how FPS feels to me and by no means am I saying your wrong. My general rule of thumb is that if your game has an FPS lock you need to compensate the player in some regard otherwise it's unfair. Does your game take place in real time but you're going to have to lock it to 30? Then find someway to compensate for that or better yet ditch the realtime elements if your game doesn't need it.
  4. Jeb, he's perfect, I completely dig the look. Thank you so much. He could be a potential antihero/villain in your comic too. Well how do I look?
  5. I once saw someone online called Genderfluids. I almost spat out my drink from that.
  6. Oh no, please by all means go full Reaper on him.
  7. Tell that to the internet.
  8. To be honest no, I don't feel that I'm missing out. As hard as I try to find a sense of belonging by empathizing with what regular people value I can't help but find them superfluous which ultimately alienates me even further. Maybe the idea of a community is a misnomer since everyone is different in one way or another. At times it does seem like I'm destined for solitude as an outcast that no one understands. I do apologize for that bit of pretentious dribble and I will say I didn't come up completely empty handed by attempting to seek out others that are like me. I mean I did meet you after all didn't I?
  9. Hey Jeb I have a request/challenge for you if you're interested. Based on what you know of me from my posts on these forums I'd like you to draw me an avatar in that art style you do. To give you an idea for the character he's well intentioned, humble, polite and doesn't take anything seriously. But he also can be overly intellectual, smug, stubborn and a bit of edgelord at times. From theses traits alone I'd like to see what you come up with and I'll wear it as my avatar. It's only if you want to and if you're busy with other things I understand.
  10. Jaden.
  11. I hate the internet sometimes. Every time I have to type a word starting with H Google autocompletes to a particular 7 letter word that starts with H, fuck me.
  12. Why would you want to do anything involving people?
  13. True, but with that being said there's still informative sources out there. It's just not profitable to do so. One Journalist that comes to mind is George Weidman of the Youtube Channel Super Bunnyhop https://www.youtube.com/user/bunnyhopshow . I've never found any of his positions to be overblown nor his videos clickbaity. On top of that he actually has a degree in Journalism unlike most "Gaming Journalists". I seek out and promote these sources in the hopes that journalism will slowly fix itself. I don't fix anything by complaining about how awful it is but being proactive might. That's a big might but it's better than doing something that adds up to nothing.
  14. Unfortunately some "Journalists" try to blend together entertainment and information with mixed results. They do this to appear "hip" and "with the times". I hate this because it can lead to a compromise on the information presented for the sake of some gag/joke. I say can because some people are able to maintain a balance between entertainment and information. I have no problem with them. But As far as I'm concerned unfunny "Journalists" should shut their traps, stop trying and actually give me the information I came for in the first place.
  15. I feel the exact same way with Youtube channels. I know lots of obscure channels that deserve way more subscribers for the high quality content they produce, it's not fair.
  16. Hmm, I always thought Intel DDR4 builds would be much more expensive than DDR3 builds. But then I did some math and the builds came up to roughly the same price point. Can I still use Windows 7 on an Intel DDR4 platform? I can't remember if that was an AMD DDR4 specific problem or not.
  17. YAHHHHH!!!!! POKE HIM WITH A STICK.
  18. Okay so which system would handle video recording and editing better, an AMD FX-9370 @ 4.7 Ghz with 32 GBs of DDR3 1333 RAM or an Intel Core i5-6400 4.4 Ghz with 16 GBs of DDR4 2133?
  19. miVRaoR_8xQ OHHHH MAEE GAWDDDD!1!!1!!!1!! and to think it only took 12 years to make. It's like poetry, it rhymes.
  20. Which makes me even more fearful for Elder Scrolls VI if Bethesda makes it. After Skyrim and Fallout 4 I don't know what to think. What is Bethesda going to carve away this time from Elder Scrolls VI if it comes to fruition?
  21. Which I5 processor is best for the money? In the future I want a definite upgrade from my FX-8320 and the I5-4460 looks promising. The I5 4460 is only $50 more than the FX-8320 and according to these benchmarks completely knocks the FX 8320 out of the water. Any thoughts? http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i5-4460-vs-AMD-FX-8320 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117302
  22. Fallout 1: Holy shit, you guys I found Bob's Pre-owned Car Mart. That's like one of the most rare encounters in Fallout 1. I found the Red Ryder LE BB Gun too.
  23. Granted the video is only 5 mins long as opposed to the almost 45 min long Game Dungeon for Deus Ex: Human Revolution. And Danielsangeo is just good like that.
  24. As do I sometimes, in fact most of the time I'm a complete unapologetic edgelord. Do you think both of us could rule over the realm of edgelordia together? SelfSurprise, would you like to go on a conquest of unending agony and atrocity with me?
  25. That's a new one I haven't heard before Selfsurprise. I probably would've called them incompetent slobbering manbeasts but this works too. Coming up with your own insults is fun isn't it?
