Supposedly the reason was because the PC port was outsourced to another company instead of being worked on by the actual devs. I really hate outsourcing products, it's better to delay a product so you can polish a certain version then rush it.

Oh definitely, presets are very useful. Especially when you have modding communities making new ones though a mod for Skyrim introduced something that should definitely be done. A mod called RaceMenu let's you save the character you made and export it to an external file that can be uploaded on a service like dropbox and the Nexus. I think that should become a common thing in video games that allow customization as it could build an entire sub-community based around sharing characters and customization tips. As for story based games, well, customization is pretty useless for first person games

Customization is probably the only gimmick that will never be complained about or done to death. Especially when you get games like Saint's Row and Elder Scrolls.

Fallout 3 has kinda grown on me over the years. I used to kinda dislike it (because it was immensely inferior to Fallout 2 in terms of tone and gameplay) but now I love it. I guess if you install enough mods it can be fun. My problem isn't so much the technical stand point but the writing and the world design. The settlements to me make little to no sense and the areas they're in (Like Rivet City) is just so hostile no one in their right mind would go there. I also have a big problem with the linear and plothole filled main quest and how short the DLCs fell in content and writing. Sometimes there isn't enough content in them and sometimes the content is just ridiculously overpowered and can be acquired at an early level like the chinese stealth armor in Operation Anchorage or the alien weaponry in Mothership Zeta.

I understand the idea of respecting the dead, for some cultures it's a very big deal. As for using them for experiments and poking around to understand the body but I think it should only be done to a corpse if the person agrees to it in life.

Gimmicks are all over the industry, ranging from good to bad, becoming a defining mechanic in a game ranging from useful to useless, bad and good. The purpose of this thread is to talk about your favorite and least favorite gimmicks in a game. One of my favorites is customization of weapons and armor in a game, like Fallout New Vegas has weapon mods which I absolutely loved. Made me feel like I was building up my own gun.

Honestly I have to say Dragon Age Origins. I know, I know there are probably worst games I could pick but it wasn't so much as it was a bad game it was just, to me, a really generic and boring one. Even games that are god awful have some comedic value to them in the "Why would someone make this" and "This is so stupid" but for Origins it wasn't any of that it was just purely boring and dull.

I'm a long time fallout fan and from what I've seen in 4's trailers and reveals I'm a bit hopeful. I wish we knew more about the story and more about settlements and the setting but that's fine I guess. I just really hope it doesn't end up like Fallout 3 in terms of world design and writing.

Yea, for multiplayer on expert (not sure about other modes) the bosses scale with the player count and it becomes so very annoying.

There is this really weird and bad pc game called Spuds that even managed to get a sequel. It's a point and click adventure, the first one follows a kid who has to go rescue his grandfather, who happens to be Santa Claus, and the second one is more halloween themed. The games are filled with bad movie references, bad jokes and moments that are creepy, it's mostly just a game series centered around weird things.

Oh you think that's bad? I was watching a stream a few days ago and the streamer had like, 15 people on the map. They could barely beat Eye of Cthulhu and could only make about 10% on Skeletor's health before the night ended. I think the new multiplayer boss system is ridiculously broken.

I think making gambling illegal would be a big mistake. Hell, there are already illegal gambling halls in places where gambling is illegal, it just makes the entire situation worse and puts people who have a gambling addiction in a worse place with no support. This line of thought can actually be applied to a lot of things ranging from sex work to narcotics. It's better to legalize, regulate and enforce then make it illegal and just hope people stop doing it. It's why the war on drugs is a massive failure and is draining America's budget, it's why people who are forced into sex work are often victims of sexual assault, abuse and sometimes even murder. We need to provide a safe place for these people, if we work hard on making certain things legal and providing a safe place for these things to be done we would lose a lot of problems. It's not perfect, there will still be selling of unapproved narcotics and illegal sex work being done but it would make those things become small and a rarity because people would have a safer environment for these activities.

While I think misandry is a thing I don't believe it's as wide scaled as misogyny for it to deserve "activists" and while not all MRAs may be sexist the vocals one really are. I spend a lot of time on twitter, one of the hubs of feminists vs MRAs and a lot of the people I follow are commonly making fun of MRAs or retweeting stuff like what a MRA named Peter Nolan recently said about how MRAs need to "Start killing women who speak out against men" as if he wants a gender war to happen. His views became so extreme that Ireland barred him from entering the country and Australia is considering it. I think a major problem is is misinformation is a common thing on the internet, there are probably people who don't understand what is going on or may actually buy into the idea that feminists are trying to take away male rights, which is stupid, so these groups with vocal sexists become popular and people who are uninformed and don't know where to go for accurate information start to actually believe it and get roped in with the group.

I've been re-playing Mount and Blade Warband with the Perisno mod lately, thinking of giving nation building a shot since I always play a vassal. Other then that I've been trying to get back into New Vegas.

I'm completely amazed how stupid people can be. I don't understand the idea of "This person is lesser then me because they are x" it just makes little sense because by logic the person is saying they're better yet how? How is the racist/sexist better then the opposite gender or someone that has a different skin color? It's just really stupid.
