Interactive Narrative Experiences/Walking Simulators
BidetoftheDead replied to Heliocentrical's topic in Gaming in general
I like them, sometimes they're a nice change of pace after playing stuff like Fallout 4 or Europa Univeralis 4. Stuff that requires you to be active or constantly thinking what your next move should be. -
Automatron lets me build my dream companions.

I'm kinda bleh. Sleep schedule is fucked, I feel tired all the time, pollen attacks, been kinda lonely and this state has made me more unstable when talking to people as I feel like I'm either distant when just normally talking to people or hostile when debating things with people.

So because they're desperate for attention the Fallout 4 haters are once again populating the Bethesda forums and steam forums going "Uhhh these shouldn't be a dlc because mods can do it!" and I'm just sitting here going, what. This is fucking ignoring the damn fact modders can do almost ANYTHING Bethesda can with the dlc. Modders have made new mechanics in Bethesda games, modders have added in landscapes and stories that are as big as the dlcs, modders can do a shit load of stuff Bethesda can BECAUSE MODDERS ARE USING THE SAME FUCKING TOOLS, maybe a bit watered down for legal reasons but literally everything script wise and editor wise can be used and tweaked by modders. The only fucking things modders don't have is the animation stuff, modelling, texturing and whatever was hard-coded into the game but besides that it doesn't even stop modders from adding new animations, models and textures to the game. The whole fucking bullshit of "Well modders can do it" is just so disrespectful to both Bethesda and Modders themselves because these systems actually HELP modders out and take work load off independent modders. So fucking what if it costed 5-10 dollars for a small dlc that still has more damn content then what most companies churn out with their dlc, so fucking what if it's a robot building mechanic or a arena mechanic that modders can do themselves, it literally doesn't matter and Bethesda shouldn't limit themselves to just whatever modders can't do, if they did everything around what modders can't do they'd be extremely limited in dlc ideas. It's nothing but another bullshit attack made by pissy little obsidian fanboys, witcher 3 fans who can't stop wanking off to CD Projekt Red and feel they must attack everything and idiots who think "Fallout 4 is a insult to rpgs". Fucking hell, I'm so sick of these assholes. I wouldn't be so pissed off if they had actual good criticism but most of the time they fucking don't.

The problem isn't driving, I can't even do that yet. In America you have to take a test before you can drive. It's usually just 50 questions but in order to take the test you have to read like, a 1000 page manual (at least in New Jersey) which is like trudging through sludge from how badly written it is.
-
Why the hell is learning to drive from a manual more complex and badly written than it needs to be. "Here is what you need to know by the way we'll talk about this later but mention stuff we left out before oh and we'll also word it almost entirely different enough to be confusing! This is a good way to learn!" Like seriously, who ever writes New Jersey's drivers manual needs to be fucking fired, hell I'd say ANYONE who had a hand in this atrocity needs to be fired. Even the printing company.

Thinking of how I want to re-design my farm in Stardew.

So this is a sentiment I see a lot throughout the internet, people think boycotts are useless which is fine but they won't even recognize personal boycotts or the reason behind them. For instance I have a personal boycott of Nintendo for a various amount of reasons from seeing Amiibos as nothing but over priced micro-transactions to their contract they force LPers and Streamers to sign in order to take a rather large portion of their ad revenue. The whole reason behind personal boycotts is you personally will not in anyway financially support anything the game company does, you'll go out of your way to make a point that they won't get your money. It's not about hurting a company it's about taking a stand in protest to what a company does. Does anyone else feel the same about this or rather do you disagree and why is that?

I think if we do get to the point of making AI we make them as old as a kid and teach them like we do our children. Just raise them right, teach them about the importance of life and caring for others, make them feel like they're part of our society not a robot made for a purpose that has no other choice. Treat A.I.s like people, not machine slaves who must do as they're told.

I'm 5'9" also I get overly worked up in debates about game mechanics, Fallout, Elder Scrolls and other useless things a tsundere crush on bidetofthedead and yandere crush on blighty waitwhat

Started playing Tropico 4 with the population limit turned off. It's a good game if you can ignore most of the characters are just stereotypes.

Way too sunny and warm. I miss my rainy weather and gloomy skies

I tried to do a no power armor run,

Not sure if there are any other Morrowind/Guar lovers but have this

I've built about...7? settlements now and note this is 7 fully functioning settlements with room for 20+ people, shops, farms and plenty of water. I'm mostly just trying to recruit or capture all the ones in the north-west part of the map before moving to the east and then doing around the south. Once that's done I'm going to set up my supply line in a big circle with Sanctuary being the start and finish, the center of the Commonwealth. My goal is to make Sanctuary into my own version of shady sands mixed with the hub so I want to get everything around Sanctuary first and then expand my reach to the rest of the commonwealth. My character is more interested in becoming the leader of the settlements rather then just the builder.

Taking a break from Fallout 4, been building settlements all day and I just generally need to cool down from gaming right now....by watching LPs.
-
I'm not a huge fan of Danse and you can easily get an identical power armor if you join the BOS. Oh, I know The BoS T-60 paint is my favorite paint as well, BoS was pretty much my go to for my first character. Anywho I became addicted to settlement building again, every damn time I waste an entire day just building settlements, just finished up Sunshine Tiding and I'm really surprised by how it actually makes a convincing town. I'm so use to building smaller settlements that end up a bit more cramped.
-
I never really had much of a problem with companions getting in my line of fire in Fallout 4. Also I might be biased on Danse because T-60 power armor is like, my very favorite power armor design.
-
Bored out of my mind, no one I follow is streaming anything good tonight and I just have nothing else to do. Kinda sad my fridays mostly depend on someone streaming something I'm interested in in order to be good..
-
MacCready has like, the best looking outfit among the companies imo, well besides Danse but Danse isn't fair because he is in big fuck you T-60 power armor.
-
I recently got the first Fallout 4 dlc and it was amazing, short but amazing and robot customization is soooo cool.
-
Watching a video game-related game show called Arcade Pit by a streamer/youtuber called SmiteSA. It's pretty entertaining and kinda good for background noise. Other then that waiting for dinner and trying to figure out what game to play, either Stardew or more Fallout 4.
-
Been playing a lot of Fallout 4 since Automatron came out, been having a lot of fun and even got back into settlement making.

aMY0IETkDrU I've been really hyped for the Automatron dlc for Fallout 4, it looks so damn cool.
