This game is Half-Life 2, the sequel to the original Half-Life used in Freeman's Mind in earlier episodes. It was released in 2004 and featured a pretty complex physics engine. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Half-Life_2 Edit: Also, read 1984 if you like the dystopian stuff.
