  1. Humor is for everyone. I wouldn't imagine Bo Burnham specifically targets just males. At least, not completely straight ones.
  2. Ooh the second response given to me seems slightly less generic. Slightly. The fact that they have to be at least seeing my messages is a good sign, right?
  3. It's not doing it without interpreting, it's doing the interpreting in the way that people would've done back then... People are trying to interpret it as if it was written in the past 100 or so years, not as if it was written (mostly) over 3000 years ago, (the old testament) and over 1800 years ago. (the new testament) Most people don't realize that the bible would be over 1000 books if every book they wanted to put into it was actually in it. People even complain about the Catholic bible having two additional books, saying that we're "changing the religion" or "adding propaganda", but it's just that the extra books are added because we can use thinner pages when we print, and can now fit some of the other books in where they were supposed to be from the beginning. (last I heard, more were coming) Maybe that was the plan from the very beginning, but we'll never know for sure until we meet God and ask him. People interpret the bible every which way as it is. Anyone who claims that their own interpretation is the correct one will have a hard time convincing others of the same, or proving it. ------------------------------------------- If "he" even exists. But yeah, every person of a particular religion is going to have their own interpretation. Which is good because if everyone believed the exact same thing then nothing would ever change for the better. Wanting to keep the same interpretation as existed thousands of years ago when the entire world was completely different is backwards thinking.
  4. American copyright law is confusing but I think you would have to give money from selling Feeman's Mind episodes to Valve. I dunno.
  5. Actually, I've set this up. I'll need some help to keep it going but I think a plug.dj room works pretty well. Yeah you're not able to go full screen, but you'll be able to join in watching an endless Freeman's Mind marathon and chat with people at the same time.
  6. 9/10 hawt
  7. Alright so I've set up a plug.dj room for constant streaming of Freeman's Mind. http://plug.dj/freeman-s-mind/ I'm looking for people to help manage streaming the show. I.E. people who can keep it going while I'm away. PM me or send me a skype message (xddash1) if you're interested in helping out. Or you could just post on this thread. I've stopped hosting due to the constantly dead room, if anyone is interested in this at any point, let me know and I'll start it back up.
  8. Everyone realized it was a joke. The disappointment was in the fact that it couldn't possibly not be a joke. Unless there was going to be an occasional episode or something of the sort. I wasn't really disappointed but I think seeing how badly other people want to see this thing is wearing off on me. x3
  9. Crate City! For all your creative crate needs! My simian skills saw me safely. The ruptured rusty rods reveal a rift! Rocky the... rocket ranger... ... sorry, had to do it.
  10. Ooh what part of the state are you in? I'm near the Cities. Brooklyn Park.
  11. Welcome to the Freeman's Mind Collective, Cassie. ^^ Here you'll win a chance to fight freaks of nature, escape countless safety hazards, wander aimlessly for hours, and die scared, tired, and alone.
  12. Hmm... indeed all the NPC's in the game are very special. I just think my interpretation would go further in terms of continuing into HL2, but I guess we'd just have to see what you do when you get to it, if you even continue at all, etc. I suppose the way you interpret it will make more sense in the "Follow Freeman" chapter at least. I really want to see how your version of Gordon would react to the Antlions. And the vortigaunts being allied with the rebels. And Alyx. And everything.
  13. And probably hundreds of millions of people killed in the name of religion to increase their power base or seem more justified in murder. It's still wrong, and a lot of the blood spilt might not have happened were religion erased. Not necessarily, but it's still an important factor. The history books aren't written by the losers, because they lost and don't exist because they were killed. In other words - were not the crusades shown to be romantic and inspiring, the spread of God's will or whatever when in reality it was a bloody and murderous campaign? .... [citation needed] I really need to do more studying. Off-topic if anyone could recommend any good history books, that might be cool.
  14. At the moment, this. QCVGpvzcHko
  15. Hope it's alright to revive this thread. The title is quite a loaded question because it could be referring to any god of any religion. Personally I don't like the idea of religion being the most central thing in people's lives. Religion should support spiritual wellness, but far too much you see it affecting people's judgement in the media. Why doesn't the U.S. have marriage equality? Why are there people who will fight to force pregnant women to have unwanted children rather than going through with an abortion? If we look at those questions from a purely logical standpoint, there's no reason for there to be any sort of question about it. As for whether a divine being exists, my answer is that if one does they don't involve themselves in our lives. I'm agnostic about it overall, but I'll clearly state that what I DON'T believe in is divine intervention. I don't believe that if a divine being exists, they'll involve themselves in our own lives in any apparent way. I very specifically choose not to believe in the Christian God. In fact, from Christian Mythology I'd be much more interested in having a conversation with Lucifer, who was cast out of heaven for disagreeing with God. I'm a little fuzzy on the information but isn't he the one that thought to give humans knowledge? How long was God planning to keep Adam and Eve ignorant, unable, unwilling, and uncaring about discovering the profound wonders of the world around them? Lucifer was made out to be a "tempter" who caused us to lose "paradise." Personally I'd take knowledge and wonder over eternal "bliss" and being forced to worship some divine being who created the world, gave us free will, but never wanted us to exercise the ability of free will. Original sin is also bullshit. Surely someone would eventually have eaten the forbidden fruit, assuming Adam and Eve were ever allowed to reproduce which I suppose might not have ever happened had they remained in "paradise." Why newborn children are assumed to have some moral impairment because of some action of their distant ancestors is beyond reason. It can relate to how eventually people have to get over the transgressions that happened in the past such as slave trading or the way the U.S. took over the inhabited land and relocated native peoples to specific confined areas. Speaking of which there was also the whole deal with giving "education" to native americans which included forcing the bible and the christian religion onto them. I also can't stand bigotry. I don't like to hate people, but people that spread hate are absolutely despicable. Convincing gay people that there's something wrong with them and to hate themselves for having emotions for a member of the same sex is just disgusting. I'd say it's the worst but there's a lot of bad things people have done in the name of religion. I'm tired and I'm already not citing any sources for any of my information so I'll stop there. I'll need to read into some history again sometime soon. I don't get enough of it from college classes. It's the thing I'm most interested in but everything is either too broad or too specific. Maybe I should look into sociology more than history because I'm interested in global connections and interaction. But wait, sociology focuses more on people, I want to focus on the connections between different countries and governments. Whatever.
  16. Strong Language Warning:
  17. Well based on what I've heard about Valve and seen in terms of Half-Life 2: Episode 3 / Half-Life 3 and in regards to how they haven't responded to you, either, I don't have high hopes of getting a satisfactory reply from this. I'm hoping at the very least it might start to get their attention so if other people do the same thing... yeah, who knows. Lolwut? What is sucking up to Ross going to accomplish for you? Besides making yourself look quite silly indeed. On further note, your sentence structure is very poor. Periods never hurt anyone. Except boyfriends and husbands.
  18. Oh Quantum Leap style. That's a good way to think of it. Just one mission or objective per game. Would be pretty cool to see. Definitely not a regular series, but something to do once in a while if other projects start to feel stale or something.

Well I got called by a manager at work and was told (essentially) that I wasn't worth keeping for the rest of my shift. She then laughed at me when I asked to stay. She later apologized for the fact that they had to send me home but did not apologize for laughing at me. Whenever I accidentally laugh at a customer looking for .22 or 9mm ammo I'll apologize profusely. It's not so much laughing at them as it is about the whole situation. It's still very rude to laugh at people. Back to the getting sent home. It's such bullshit. I work in the sporting goods department which is the most difficult area of the story with the stock changing every couple of weeks. It's constantly fluctuating. Lately we've been pressed to somehow just become more productive, now they're sending home me, a part-time, leaving the full-time people to close without my help. There's also the fact that I was holding onto the phone, dealing with many customers through that, and I sold the display of a digital electric smoker cooker which really ate into the time I could have spent getting things accomplished. At the time I was told to leave, two people were working on putting out summer fishing lures and tackle and everything and the other person was helping a customer behind the gun desk. And there I was, being told that my help wasn't worth having for the night because there wasn't "any business." Now, you could say 'hey, at least you got to go home early,' but that's fucking bullshit. I don't go to work for fun. I go to work to make money, and if they don't respect or appreciate the amount of work I do, laughing at me when I ask if I can stay to help my coworkers, then that's really going to push me further away from wanting to continue to work there. Short Version: I'm feeling very devalued and disrespected. I need a new job. Speaking of a new job I'd really like to voice act. Maybe be on the radio or possibly do the news or something like that as a potential secondary option. If anyone works in that sort of field or has any information regarding that sort of thing I'd deeply appreciate it. I spent a day researching it myself but couldn't find much information. I'll have to spend more time on it.
  20. Well, I actually submitted a support ticket to steam support, but got some weird generic message. Probably because there was no selection for support with Steam Workshop items so I selected the community market. I only sent my second response today but here's what it looks like so far. Now we'll just have to wait and see if anything ever comes from that, either. I dunno. If we all organize to have everyone email Valve front desk with "Ross Scott 'Freeman's Mind' Announcer Pack" or something as the subject, that should cause some interest.
  21. Yeah I can imagine how rough just that episode had been on his throat. And we don't even see all the takes he had to do, so imagine that one episode times like... fifty. That's how much of a strain he has to put on his voice all at once. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Unless they were getting paid remarkably.
  22. Hmm... I wouldn't mind setting something up so that there was something running in the background from my computer but yeah that probably wouldn't be reliable anyway. I would be doing other stuff at the same time and all...
  23. Hello, I've been here a little while. I like games and I'm an unbeatable procrastinator.
  24. I haven't watched any spin-offs. I'd like to see a really good one that goes through Portal & Portal 2 but I just don't know how that's possible. With Freeman at least we've been given a good chunk of information about him but Chell is quite a bit more mysterious. I can only imagine her having amnesia and thus only knows the information provided by GLaDOS but obviously just... not accepting that information because GLaDOS is obviously a liar. ... thinking about it, with how much Freeman complains about everyone in Black Mesa being a liar, GLaDOS would fit right in.
  25. Yeah, such as Genesis and a good chunk of the first testament at least up until Noah's Ark because that totally happened for sure. Actually wasn't there some sort of scientific evidence of there having been a flood somewhere that might have inspired the Noah's Ark story? Either way, this looks like it's turning into a theological debate so yeah. I'll get out before I go on some rant about my own logic against religion.
