An interesting thought occurred to me. After rewatching the series and more specifically episode 61.5 it got me thinking. After reading through the comments that proposed the same thing, I was pretty convinced. Episode 61.5 is not non-canon. It actually takes place in the Freeman's Mind universe rather than just an alternate ending. Now before I get to the point I want to bring something up. Perhaps Gordon was right about the teleporters, they clone his atoms, destroy his old form and reconstruct them on the other end of the teleporter with all thoughts and memories intact, but he is not the original. Perhaps during the final teleport to Xen, Gordon's old self was not destroyed but somehow remained intact, so one Gordon was teleported to Xen, where he was supposed to, and the other was placed in an unknown location. (likely somewhere in eastern Europe) Now to the point. I believe that Mike from CP IS that copied Gordon. Gordon and Mike do share some similarities. Gordon and Mike both know Eddie. Now this could be a different Eddie but evidence points towards it being the same guy, such as when Dave was searching the crazy guy's home in The Tunnel and says he has nothing worth stealing, to which Mike replies, "You've been hanging out with Eddie too much." While we still don't know much about Eddie, we can all speculate that he is either a professional thief who sells his merchandise or a Black Market dealer as Gordon says he can get human skulls from Eddie and even says he should give Eddie a call to lift a huge weapons stash and make a profit off them. So, it's likely the same guy. Another is during the CP Christmas special when Mike was telling the viewers how to make a "Christmas brick" Mike then goes on to give suspiciously detailed instructions to which Dave notices he's talking from experience. This is likely a hint to Gordon's backstory. While Ross keeps the original backstory on Gordon very lore friendly such as how gordon became a scientist and his time in Austria, he also implies and often admits that Gordon had or still has a drug problem. What i'm getting at is I think Gordon was homeless at one point and highly addicted to drugs before he even went to MIT or joined Black Mesa and Mike/Gordon is telling his stories from childhood/adolescence/early adulthood, I don't know. The next point is the name change. Despite the marines saying "forget about freeman" it's likely that Gordon #2 would have been paranoid enough to change his name under fear that the U.S. Government would find him again as he still thinks he's a fugitive. Even after the Seven Hour War when the U.S. Government, along with all other governments, fell to the might of the combine, the name Gordon Freeman is still synonymous with the thought of him being a savior among the rebels and a deviant among the Combine. He likely would have kept his fake name and never mentioned anything about Black Mesa to keep himself safe from the Combine. He decided to make himself even less of a target by joining Civil Protection to get more benefits and make himself seem less suspicious. Now, onto Mike and Gordon #2's mannerisms. As we all know, the events of HL2 take place over 20 years after the Black Mesa incident. This seems like enough time that Gordon #2 would settle down into the Metro-Police. Given the complete worldwide ban of all narcotics, Gordon wouldn't be able to get any more of his Oxycodone, likely making him reform from his drug fueled ways, making him more level-headed and calm but still keeping his over-the-top sense of urgency and short temper. Add the fact that Gordon #2 was never put in stasis at the end of Half Life, making him age and mature like everyone else. Imagine what Mike would think when he hears that Gordon Freeman has been spotted in the canals and what he sees when he reinforces his police team.

Hey ross, if you're planning on doing a halloween episode for the game dungeon this year, i have an awesome flash game you might be interested in. It's basically Dead Space and DOOM in one beautiful and gorey masterpiece. I highly reccomend you play it. It's called The Breach. And if you don't like the white contrast like when you skipped Union City. (I am still a little miffed about that) Then you can play the newgrounds version with the dim lights option. I highly recommend playing it. http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/542858

ROSS'S GAME DUNGEON: BIP BOP II
urcousinvinnie5 replied to Ross Scott's topic in Ross's Game Dungeon
Hope you don't get harvested Ross. Also, I'm blaming you if the entire world ends because everyone who has seen this episode has seen things they shouldn't. Thanks a lot Ross, hope to see you in our slavery to the warlock overlords. -
Hey! I just posted this!
-
So I was checking around SFM videos on youtube and I found this cool beauty This guy remade the Civil Protection episode that was cartoon animated. So one of my questions to Ross is; Why not HIRE an SFM animator for Civil Protection? There has to be at least SOME SFM animators that are probably willing to partake. EDIT: PFFT, it's like this guy is reading my mind! The subliminal text at the end of the video reads "Hey Ross if you ever, you know, want to continue the series you-uh have my contact information. So yeah, see you soon?" Something to think about , Ross?

"Well done everyone! The war is over. We must remember all who had the courage to step up against the combine. Many good men have died by their hands, but one final push on their forces liberated our planet. With all of our efforts to rid earth of the combine, we have succeeded. But without one man, we could never have broken their hold. The Free Man did what no one else could have done, he gave us hope. Humanity is now stronger than ever. We now have the resources and the manpower to fight the combine should the need arise. But we couldn't have started it all without him. He inspired all of us, to be free once again. He shall never be forgotten."

Let's hope that even after a possible episode one and two, Valve will finally announce half-life 3. I still have some hopes that it's coming soon. It's been seven years since episode 2 came out and I think we're getting close. If it took Ross seven years to complete freeman's mind, than we have a long journey ahead of us.
-
Let it be our New Years present from ross.
-
I'm sure you would, and thank you. But what I was referencing was the fact that Mike and Dave from Civil Protection are (possibly) stationed in Bulgaria and were also mentioned in Barney's Mind as being barney's "Friend's from Bulgaria"
-
A nod to my older post [Freeman's mind intro] "Okay, now shit is DEFINITELY getting real. If I understand this correctly, aliens from another planet have invaded and have taken over the world, and I, out of some freak coincidence, am it's only hope. What form of meth am I on where aliens can take over the world in seven hours? What am I going to do? I can't exactly escape to Massachusetts if the entire world is enslaved. Hmm, if i'm right about this, city 17 might be in the middle of some sort of eastern European country I've been seeing a lot of signs and posters with some sort of Russian letters. I can probably make my way to Bulgaria, I have a couple buddies there who can help. If I can find eddy he can probably smuggle me across the country, give me some weapons. I wouldn't doubt he has a SPAS-12 up for sale. That man can smuggle anything anywhere. Man I miss my shotgun, the satisfaction of punching 12 gauge into someone's abdomen is so overwhelming."
-
I think I started watching this around '09 to '12 I think I remember it as seeing a couple episodes of Freeman's mind but then got more interested in civil protection. Once there were no more episodes to watch, I took notice of freeman's mind and now i'm here. What a good run it's been. I would (and still) check in once a week on the accursed forums just to see if there was a new episode out. If ross doesn't make a freeman's mind season 2, then it's been a good run and maybe we'll see other source related material. It's amazing to me how far Freeman's Mind has come. I was once on the Black Mesa website and found that some guys were doing some kind of role playing around the Black Mesa complex and when they came to Gordon Freeman he was depicted as having a voice box with ross' voice. Kind of makes me hope for a Black Mesa remake. It would be nice but we all know the answer to that by now.
-
If freeman's mind season 2 is confirmed, we all know that Ross has to turn off the music to preserve the realism of freeman's mind. I would find it cool if he would enable the music at least during the really "action-y" scenes like when he fights Civil Protection or when he first encounters Overwatch snipers or when he guns down all the CPs and scanners with a mounted gun or when he assaults Nova Prospekt.

I have the theory that all of these islands are just pieces of landmass after a catastrophic occurrence which left most of the planet in pieces. think about i, all of the islands have gravity which means the islands must still be within it's gravitational force.
-
I was/am really hoping to see freeman assess the workings of xen for it's environment and flora/fauna like him saying something like "If all of these islands are floating in the deep void of space, why don't they move in perpetual motion? They can't be held by a gravitational force if they are all just islands without a base." or "Why am i still breathing if all this is is just a void in space?" There are many interesting things about Xen that COULD make sense, for instance, if you look at the animated freeman's mind movies the creator depicts Xen as being an actual planet but the islands we see are just small chunks of the whole planet which has somehow been almost completely destroyed. The gas giant below and all of the chunks of the planet orbiting the remaining half like moons.
-
I actually think i understand the backrubs thing. The whole time, freeman couldn't hear very well due to the portal vibrating and the aliens (forget their names) are screeching. He probably misheard him as he could only make out one word and misheard the rest. Get |BACK| here you big orange fuck |BACK| rubs

ROSS'S GAME DUNGEON: THE LAST STAND
urcousinvinnie5 replied to Ross Scott's topic in Ross's Game Dungeon
You know ross i personally didn't think the review you did on union city was very fair, you were done after the lighting contrast pissed you off. I've played union city and thought it was great for a flash game. And yes, I did play it on the armor games website, i couldn't give two shits about the border lighting, i thought the gameplay was pretty well done. Please just don't be stingy because this is a flash game. Not all flash games are god awful. I know a lot on newgrounds which are awesome. Plasma burst 1 and 2 which had physics, body breaking and ragdolls, Madness: Project nexus Which had it's quirks but was an overall blast to play. Also in the game, if you haven't played much of it, You have more weapons than in any of the other last stand games. You have pistols, ARs, Anti-personel and anti-MATERIEL sniper-rifles, Shotguns automatic and pump, grenade launchers, rocket launchers, i could say what kind of guns their are in this game but i won't because the list is way too long. All i'll say is that they really went all out with gun variety instead of one model per category. So please ross, what was the actual gameplay like? -
Then how do you explain the, ahem, "alien jizz" all over the keyboard if HE was the one who made it. The aliens wouldn't have touched it if he had already created it.
-
I am dumbstruck! How long has it been since ross posted this? Three days!!? And he's already at $13,000!!!! !!!aenkfhlsgjfufgbkdgbkvyiwdtvadelfn!!! My brain is malfunctioning. Ross, i think you just broke the world record.
-
My guess is, once he finds a rebel base, he asks the rebels what's going on. The episode ends and in the next he takes a super long pause after he finds out that the vortigaunts are on their side, the combine took over the world in 7 hours, and beer is ILLEGAL in this new totalitarian world.

The Tunnels pt. 3? Predictions on how it turns out.
urcousinvinnie5 replied to devilk870's topic in Civil Protection
Hi again, it's me, I know, i know, your probably all saying "Vinnie, this thread has been dead for almost a year now, what are you doing here?" I just had a thought and i would like to share it as a theory ,or if the story isn't done yet, idea for how it would turn out and how everything from the episode links together. My guess is that a mad scientist who formerly worked at black mesa in "questionable ethics" wanted to find a way to control the headcrab zombies and have them invade the city without killing any of the citizens. but to do so, he had to extract a pheromone from the headcrabs as well as a fluid the headcrabs have to use to take control of the host's brain. He got a green light from the rebel commanders to go ahead with his research. Him and his assistant were looking for a place to set up, when they found a door inside the tunnel. At first glance, it looked like a construction project, but as they head deeper inside, they found the "dug-out" tunnels, and after following the tunnels, they managed to find an elevator that leads down to a secret laboratory that was used by Aperature science in the 1970s (when i took a look at the maps in hammer, i noticed that behind the corpse where Dave went missing, there was what looked like an elevator) They found that it was the perfect place to study. After a few months of research, the doctor started to get a god complex. He discovered that he can use the headcrab's cerebral fluids to create an airborne disease, without having an individual headcrab on a host. His assistant took note of this and tried to stop him. He anonymously contacted the Overwatch and disclosed the lab's location. The entrance to the construction site was blocked so the overwatch team had to breach it with explosives (the hole in the wall). The soldiers came in and hiked through the tunnels and found the elevator where they came down to the lab and took the doctor for questioning. The overwatch intelligence saw this as an opportunity. They didn't have to stuff feral headcrabs into the canisters anymore. They could just gas the rebel bases with the virus inside the shell. After testing the virus on human test subjects, They started to mutate into zombies, only this time they were enhanced in many ways, first having predatory intelligence, making them masters at hiding in the dark and striking at their prey in the most gruesome and effective ways. Also their appearance is altered drastically from regular zombies, giving them enhanced muscle and bone structure making them hard to kill when confronted with a regular body shot. Most of all, they don't need headcrabs. They also have the old zombie infection technique. Biting will infect. They had at least 100 test subjects in the labs. The doctor broke his deal with the combine by releasing the zombies from stasis. The overwatch were overwhelmed and fled to the elevator, which as a fail safe, the shaft was rigged with C4. The doctor also boarded up the entrance so they could not dig down either. He thought the zombies were trapped for good, but being the masters of stealth, several managed to climb up the elevator shaft and escape without anyone noticing. The doctor was killed as the soldiers ran out. (the body we saw in front of the elevator) It was only 5 years later when the diary owner came across the tunnel and found the zombies, he never found the lab though. But he possibly found the doctor's body, hence the scream from inside the tunnels. The slugs though were possibly the FAILED experiments on animals, or even other xen creatures. EDIT: To explain the insanity of dave and the diary guy. Maybe the bites of the zombies create dementia within the brain before the final mutation. To fully infect the host, the virus is going to have to get into the brain, just like the headcrabs did. this can easily and simply be done by biting one of the jugular veins which resides in the neck and the forearm. Almost all veins in your body have to reach the brain to provide it with blood. Not having enough blood inside your brain will lead to a stroke. Biting the jugular veins will quickly infect the host by spreading the virus throughout the body's veins and the heart. Well, that's it, sounds pretty legit. I wish this would actually make it onto the episode, seems like a legit story line. -
If only there was a rule that every 3 years, in celebration of the election, would choose a director for getting the most viewers and subscribers as well as contributions to the machinima channel and genre. If it was real (not saying the loyal viewers can't make their own votes.) ross would probably be nominated if not directly chosen for his contributions to gaming and gaming movies. R.G.D, F.M., C.P., others. as well as creating the MACHINIMA ONLY sight we all know and love called "gorilla gong" if you ask why they call it that, you are just a plain dipstick...oh wait. (i did at some point). Also being connected with his fans on the accursed forums, unlike SOME directors that will either not respond or will call you names. ROSS FOR 2014 But on to a new subject besides screaming ross' praises from space . Let's let everyone else decide, who in the past year or more has been your favorite director or group. Jon graham, Ross Scott, the Janus syndicate (not on happy hour, just a bunch of guys that make use of the word fa**ot in the funniest ways), the idiots from sanity. Anything related to the top machinima directors (notably the ones on happy hour) And then we'll all vote on years past or years to come.

If you really want to know why the HECU were devastated at Black Mesa, read my thread called "The Incompetence of the HECU". It is quite detailed. Your comment on how xenians can "teleport out of nowhere" is flawed.
-
The strangest thing is that freeman was mocking the aliens for their military strategy I have a few choice words for him 1) wildlife: In world war 2 the Germans would send out German Shepards as attack dogs. Also these creatures are not like ordinary earth wildlife, these animals can be used for great purposes rather than dogs and badgers. headcrabs can control the brains of their host bodies, houndeyes (in numbers) have a devastating shock wave that can kill anything in a few blasts, and bullsquids have a ranged acid spit attack along with a devastating tail swipe. (which we all know the tip of the tail is barbed, except in black mesa for some reason.) 2) alien invasions: "I guess humans are much more efficient at invading than aliens are." WRONG, freeman might not have noticed it since he is underground all the time, but the HECU were caught in the middle of a massacre, I mean the xenizens can teleport out of friggin' nowhere, plus the fact that the HECU were expecting a HUMAN attack instead of fighting aliens. Also how he said he thought aliens would be much more advanced than humans. Whatever he is smoking I am pretty sure everyone else wants some. Every species has a starting point for civilizations. The xenizens do not have that good of technology, yet they still managed to kill more than a hundred united states marines. Another thing is that he will be eating his words once he finds out the combine came and took earth in a matter of seven hours, than we'll be judging the invasion quality of the xenizens. Let's face it, freeman is a lot dumber when he is high, which I think we can all agree is why he is acting so "ecstatic" either that or the radiation seeped into his head and is getting brain cancer as we speak. I would mark both of these as a possibility since after I heard him talking about how "aliens are either monsters or way more advanced." I actually can hear him slurring his voice, as if he was either drunk, high, or getting brain cancer from radiation poisoning. (or maybe ross was sick or very tired at some point)

I wouldn't mind if machinima is still up, it's a place where we remember all of our favorites and classics such as; arby n the chief, sonic for hire, freeman's mind, sanity not included, etc. I don't want them to burn in hell, I just want them to either fire the assholes who thought of this, or change business tactics so BOTH the machinimakers and machinima.com are all getting an equal amount of money, it's just the right way to go about it. Peace around machinima, as they say. Oh, wait ALL of Machinima does this? than fuck them and let's start a mutiny where the machinimakers rule, let this be a machinima democracy instead of a dictatorship, Since we don't have the energy or resources to actually start a mutiny "legally" I say we should contact all machinimakers and tell them we've had enough of their shady shit. Let's sue them for all they got, let's boot their asses out and start running Machinima.com the old fashioned way. Where the publishers WERE'NT assholes. How about we stage a protest against Machinima.com and tell them we've had enough. It's also unfair to the viewers that want to see the videos when the machinimakers are too busy being bombarded by unfair and "near slavery" binding contracts. POWER TO THE PEOPLE MUTHAFU- By the way this is not a joke nor am I trolling, it is unfair to the viewers and directors, let's start a protest and tell Machinima this is just too much. I don't want to make my own Machinima channel if it means binding me into legal slavery. Me and my friends had plans to make a gameplay channel supported by Machinima, but apparently it isn't happening with these outrageous contracts.

The only thing I hope EA doesn't make shit out of is mass effect and dead space. They would be PROVEN evil if they cancelled either one of them. If EA is so evil then why have I not seen any marketing flaws with dead space? I thought that dead space and mass effect were both works of genius. If they are so evil than why is dead space and mass effect so good? OR maybe.... update: I just read through the list and honestly... What...the...fuck. The thing that got me most peeved is that they shut down pandemic. what right do these assholes have to shut down multiple hard working companies, and even after many lawsuits involving different problems, EA always wins, even after trials that make it seem completely obvious that they were underpaying their employees. Oh, did you like all of your childhood favorites as a kid? WELL TOO FUCKING BAD BECAUSE EA HAS RUINED YOUR CHILDHOOD AND YOUR CAREER IN GAMING. What's next, halo? Are they going to turn the greatest sci-fi game into a piece of shit just by buying 343 and instantly dropping their ass? What about call of duty? Well too fucking bad because if somebody doesn't expose EA for a corrupt company intending to be the OWNERS of all video games. If EA keeps this up, there will be no more call of duty, halo, killzone , star wars, The walking dead, half-life (please no), ETC. I am actually convinced that EA is in fact EVIL. Let's just hope that the EA games we DO love grow some balls and decide to leave them. If it sounds like I'm mean, I'm sorry. But I just hope that none of the video games we know and love will be destroyed by the hands of someone who doesn't know what the fuck they're doing.
