  1. The start of a beautiful life-long friendship. Before it consumes you for food. As Stargate fan, this popped into my mind: only- imagine larva tok'ra symbiote hanging over his shoulder (well, yeah, they cant live in sunlight, but just for laughs you can imagine they do) I loled a bit, so good job! Oh man... if I could ever forget everything I saw and know about a series and could experience it like I did the first time, it would definetly be SG-1. But this time with weed instead of pizza. I gained like 10kg in that 6 weeks holidays consisting of nothing but Stargate and pizza.
  2. This thread is honorable. You guys think we are going a bit too fanatic about FM? Naaah just kidding. We're totally normal human beings, I know that.
  3. Alright. Tell me if you ever need someone to back you up or something. I can do english and german subtitles, although I feel like I'm the only german soul out there regulary watching FM.
  4. I think the progress bar was just put up their by Ross to fuck with the people who were stuck between 44 and 45. Every week I went on AF and saw the progress bar and thought OMG FINALLY PROGRESS ON 45 and then I clicked and basically died a slow and painfull death every time. Is there any proof that it was there before? I DON'T THINK SO!
  5. Why don't just upload the "raw" edited recordings and the "with sound" edited recordings? Anyways, if there is only one choice, why don't you replace the sounds within the game. Should save some time and would render the sound-editing unnessecary.
  6. The sounds are ok but I would still prefer the original ones. Probably the 10th time someone used this phrase but to hell.. why change something that isn't broken? I'm ok with some sound editing here and there (tank) or some additional sound effects like when he's climbing something or so but other than that, I just don't see why new sounds are necessary, especially in the middle of the series. And lol to that guy listening to FM while driving.. you're absolutely and definetely my role-model now. Ross should produce and sell it as a real and serious audiobook.
  7. You. Are. An. IDIOT!!!!!!! Would you go near an alien larva-creature! I don't think so! Wow I'm an idiot for expressing my opinion. You. Are. Rude. Again, this is not me, this is not you, this is Gordon Freeman, a guy running around in a suit killing batallions of aliens and soldiers. I'm just disappointed that he just shot it a few times and walked away. He didn't walk away from the rocket launcher which, according to your logic, he should have. People in real life don't stumble accross a modern rocket launcher and instantly know how to use it with perfection and decide to use it when they just could walk away from the threat. Go on, tell me how badass you are and totally would have picked up a rocket launcher, knew how to load it, and shoot it at a helicopter firing high-velocity machine guns at you ~~ This "what would you do"-argumentation is pure BS.
  8. Honestly, if any of us found ourselves in such a situation... Would you even touch an alien object, even if you noticed it's a pretty good gun? Scientists are usually EXTREMELY careful with such stuff. (Unless they are guys from the "Prometheus" movie ) You don't know what it could do to you. Mix your DNA, drag alien bacteria or viruses into your system or god knows what. And you don't know oif HEV can protect you. No, thank you. Again, in my eyes this argumentation is BS. This is not "us in that situation" or "how we would behave" and it never was. It's Freeman's Mind and I always understood Freeman's Mind as a real guy finding himself trapped in a crappy, illogical and totally fucked up scenario giving half-realistic commentary about virtual-life/fantasy stuff that happens there. If you want to look at FM in such a hardcore-realistic manner, then why didn't he ever get a shot or ricochet to the head, wasn't infected by alien blood or headcrab-enzymes splattered across his face and eventually entering the body through ears/mouth/nose etc. The thing is, Ross has given us always a good explanation (for example why he is physically able to do all this [hazard course]) and stuff but this time the reaction was not satisfying enough to me. I mean, one could argue about why he didn't pick up the Gauss Cannon (instability) and so on, thats fine momentarily but I am the opinion that he eventually has to use each and every weapon available or the revisit of olden days with now Gordons thoughts available isn't complete somehow. Maybe I'm just overreacting BUT IT GODDAMN HURT!! YOU HEAR THAT ROSS? IT HURTS!! But again, I'm pretty sure he will use all guns later on but just wasn't ready yet.
  9. I don't get this "he not picking up the hornet gun was logical"-bullshit argument. Of course, a certain amount of "reasoning" has to be there to not break the immersion but just to a certain degree. I mean Ross/Gordon comments on the illogical "architecture" of Black Mesa all the time, like that room with the hanging crates and stuff and thats what hooked me up to Freeman's Mind initially. Not picking up the gun was, at least for me, the illogical decision. It was the first thing that was just lying there without trying to kill Gordon, so as a curious scientist he "logically" would get near it and have a closer look, especially if he saw it used by Alien Grunts (which he also didn't comment on) to shoot stingy things at him. Don't get me wrong, still loved this episode as I love all episodes and I don't know what Ross has planned so far, but not picking up the Gauss Cannon and now not picking up the hornet gun hurt me a little bit. I hope you either won't go on like this or have other plans with this weapons for later use.
