And why server being in EU would necessarily be a bad thing? Ross has many fans here in Europe. And AFAIK he himself is located in Europe ATM. Given these circumstances, it's strange that US always gets priority and is considered first. Server's location shouldn't be an issue if all interested parties can get an ok connection to it. ikr. I have no idea why everyone prefers USA servers, but hey- its his choice after all

Witcher 3. Got that game just over a week ago and i suddenly realise im having 69 hours in it and from looks of it, im not even halfway trough main game, let alone expansions. Got to say, it started off slow, but game really lives up to its hype

You completely misunderstood me- those are STANDALONE mods. Meaning you DO NOT have to have renegade to play them. and mods are FREE. Also, i can play them on my win 10 just fine, nor i have heard anyone having real problems. Link to APB for more info: http://www.moddb.com/games/red-alert-a-path-beyond (both APB & TS reborn use same launcher to download & play mods) Also, it has official hosted servers, with 60 player support. Now, they are small & in EU, but plus side for events like this is that in morning hours it seems to be more or less empty. Anyways it was just meant as suggestion- if it doesnt suit criterias, its ok, but might as well suggest something

if you look for alternate games, what requirements would you like it to have? I can remember accessibility (i.e price) & playercount being few of the factors, as well as it should be able to run on old PC. Hope you dont mind few suggestions: Red alert: A path beyond (standalone modification of c&c renegade, based on c&c: red alert. Basically FPS/3rd person shooter with lot of strategy involved. Free to download & play and since renegade is over a decade old by now, most pc-s should run it. One thing- im not sure how many players you can fit in there) Tiberian sun Reborn (as APB, its standalone mod of c&c renegade (and thus functions similarly), but based on c&c tiberian sun, meaning units are more sci-fi, including walkers) GTA San andreas (via either sa-mp or MTA. now, it isnt free 2 play, but it is relatively cheap, old PC-s can run it with ease and both MTA & sa-mp offer hundreds of servers to choose from, with many supporting well over 100 people, with different styles)

Im in disturbed & weirded out state today. Because of a dream. Not even particularly weird one. I somehow get strong feeling this dream means something (and i dont believe in such stuff), so if any of you are bored enough to take this story apart, feel free to & it would actually be appreciated. So, in my dream, me, my friend (not particularly good one, but ok one) & my former classmate (female, will come into play later) are in nearby city celebrating something. That part is fuzzy, but i remember it being company success or anything like that (business related). All's good, we have fun, talk & whatever. So, im at some point alone and i check my phone or time & next thing in my dream im waking up in what seems to be high-tech hospital. this part is rather weird as im in 3rd person view, so i can see only the bed itself & view from large window (and judging from view its located in very small village near my hometown- which doesnt make any sense as even my hometown is pretty much village in terms of most countries). Anyways, i wake up, my former classmate is talking with me, saying she & my friend hooked up & apparently i was in coma for 2 weeks for unknown reason (but whatever it was seems to have healed). In backround is beautiful sunset or sunrise though. In any case i feel tired in my sleep & fall asleep. So, in my dream within dream i see basically how i fell into coma (just fell over) & them hooking up. I remember being upset about latter part (last stage of the dream- after that, i started to wake up in dream as well, but i was woken by alarm clock irl). Now, i honestly have no idea why though. It didnt make sense that i'd be seeing either of them in dream, especially like that. In fact it'd make more sense of seeing my friend in there as he recently had baby. But she & he have never met irl. Plus i havent seen her in 4 years (since graduation). However there is one other noteworthy thing- that hospital setting isnt new to me (even though i have never seen such anywhere but dream) and not even her being there (though she isnt always there). Now, these dreams dont happen often- maybe once or twice a year, but they havent affected me nearly as strong as this one. Again, not feeling of deja vu- i always make sure to take notes whenever i have dream that sticks with me for hour or two (and this one has stuck for whole frikin day before i wrote it down just now)

actually here's an idea- as someone (cant remember who) pointed out, that this topic is basically just extreme version of gaming pet peeves, plus it has tendency going off-topic, why not merge it with pet peeves or close this one? -
What are your earliest memories? share them & comment. i start off with 2 of my own: my earliest memory dates back when i was either late 2 year old or early 3 year old (so pretty much exactly 20 years ago). Either way, it was summer and rather near my birthday- thus i think it was late 2 years old, as it was warmer than it usually is around my birthday, more sync with july than august. Anyways, its rather dull memory truth be told. I remember waking up in my mothers bed probably around 10 in the morning, staring at white ceiling & black oven (which is now painted light grey) thats used to heat the room. I got up (i was dressed) and went to kitchen where mother & grandmother were having coffee. Now, they were chatting about something i dont remember, and mother for whatever the reason asks me "what do you say when someone asks you your name", i went: "i dont know". This is probably most interesting thing about this memory- i really didnt know. I remember the fact that i didnt remember a thing. I knew how to speak, how to walk, layout of house, regognised my family members as friendly (but didnt remember any names), but that was it. And i dont think i had any trauma either as everything felt fine. But it honestly felt like i shouldnt be small boy just waking from a nap. To this day, i remember this feeling and it still freaks the heck out of me when i think about it. I figure its something like amnesiac (y'know, person who lost memory) feels i have lot of jumbled memories from childhood that i cant quite exactly place except this one. And i know for fact this is my first memory. Now, first juicier memory i have is me tumbling down stairs when i was 3 & it was in february i guess (so '97). See, all my life, my family has lived in 2-story house that my greatgrandfather bought before ww2. So i guess i wanted to go either sledding or ice skating & i went to call my dad from upstairs. In any case, i called him, got dressed in warm winter clothes & started going down the stairs. Now, one more thing about old houses- those stairs can be extremely steep. And easy to fall from. I slipped on upmost step & slid down, all straight like a plank, feet first down the stairs (in middle. wooden stairs with huge caps between them). Right down the bottom. Dad & mom (who came to see what was it all about) were of course spooked, but i remember it being fun. I remember getting up with smile and "lets do that again" look but yeah, that was close call, as if i hadnt been dressed up as warmly as i had, i might have serious brain damage by now.

NPC-s that you have to follow but are slower than you. Just started with Witcher 3 and im loving it because NPC-s are same speed when you need to follow them -

okay, how about everyone calm down now? I mean we can be civil, right? even if it is the internet. We arent savages, we can debate civil & we know when to walk away. And we definetly know better than to go to name calling to solidify our argument, right? right. -

Regenerating health i disagree- it can be done right, but 2 weapon limit? yes, please kick that out of the frikin window. im so sick of that. Thats why i love GTA V- it went opposite way, as now you can literally have EVERY DAMN WEAPON in the game in inventory & conviniently (sure, it was similar to older GTA-s too, but there were tiers..) but yeah, it did give game so much more when you could randomly whip out a rocket launcher vs weakest opponent in game just for lols. -

Getting Diablo 1 to work on Windows 10

but here is where you are wrong: you ARE NOT forced to play either way, so you can use whatever playstyle you want. Also, you miss the thing, where it wouldnt make sense quest markers being placed near eachother, but quest is there. So you may be forced to walk & waste tons of hours on just that to fill the quest. Thats what fast travel prevents, giving you a CHOICE to play that way. Dont want fast travel option in any way? go play arma. And seriously, fast travel option in map disturbs you when hovering mouse over location? dude, you get disturbed way too easily. Not to mention you conflict your own statements. You first complain how you are FORCED to fast travel (which is NOT the case), but then you go on to complain about game where you have to discover location first, i.e do it open world style (fallout & Skyrim). Heck, in those games even if you DO know where they are, you still have to TRAVEL there normally before you get to fast travel there. And its not just Bethesda's open world games where you have fast travel, but you arent forced to use it. Newsflash, bud: both Mafia 2 & GTA (since 3) have fast travel. Assassin's Creed franchise- again, you arent forced to fast travel, but option is there. MGS V. Tomb Raider. Need i go on? All these games are open-world (ok, tomb raider is most debatable), have fast travel but by no means they force you to use that. And all these games have GOOD open world. And good fast travel. I mean damn, dude, you seriously get annoyed if fast travel is present in game? just, wow. -

uh, what? What game forces you to use fast travel (well, at least excluding going to DLC/off-map in general)? And how it is counter-intuitive to one another? I mean lets take 2 open-world staples here: fallout & elder scrolls. Both have large open worlds, with lots to see & do in. Like seriously- if you want, there are mods that make it even more full (still, remember that devs make games so that widest possible audience can enjoy it. Speaking hardware-wise, plus in some cases software used to create sets its limits). And yet, neither forces you to fast travel. Heck, first time i played skyrim i didnt even realise i CAN fast travel until few hours in (used the map, more for seeing possible paths). And i know of people that didnt discover it UNTIL they had already finished it first time around. In fallout games its notified by one-time(!!!) popup. So if you dont want to use it, just dont- you dont have to. So i really find it odd seeing anyone complain about this -

original. Blood dragon was more ok, as it had that tongue-in-cheek attitude about it (like, seriously, i cracked up with movement tutorial) -

unskippable cutscenes are bad, but unskippable cutscenes RIGHT after savepoint? those need to burn. Especially if boss is tough to beat- even 2 second scene is annoying in that case. crafting for crafting sakes. Now, crafting itself isnt bad thing if done properly, but most of the time it is just ridicolously bad. Whats worse is that in too many games you just have to craft to get anything useful (im looking at you, far cry). And so many games have crafting shoved into them because people like crafting, but devs dont know how it would fit the game. Lengthy tutorials. Ok, i get that you may need some info, but there are better ways than acting like player is idiot (FC3, looking at you again). And really, REALLY annoying when you start game again. -
geesh, my health issues keep getting better and better. Been sick for a week, and my toe does still not want pressure on it after incident described few days ago. Nothing i havent said so far. Well, thing is, last 3 nights (this one included- 2 am atm), i've been having trouble falling asleep (and even then sleeping) due to dry cough. Cough medicine doesnt help squat, so i might have to go to doctor today. I can only hope its nothing serious
-
been sick a week and as cherry on a cake, my big toe happened to have plaster panel fall on it sideways. Hurts like hell & at best, i will lose my toenail. But judging by how it hurts, it might very well have fracture in it
-
bloody hell- you dont deserve any of that. I hope things get better soon.

Legend of Korra Thats title i picked up because i recently started watching actual show (which i love btw). Played only a little, but game seems.. interesting. Its definetly not 10/10 game, but pretty decent nonethless and its fun to smack enemies. If you plan to get it, watch show first.

Valve has monopoly? Its bad? buhahahaha. please continue, thats amusing stuff right there. Sure, Valve has BIGGEST marketplace on PC, but by no means its only one, meaning its NOT monopoly (read definition of monopoly). We also have GOG, Origin, Uplay (not good, but its there), MS storefront (worst one of major players, but again, its there)- and these are main ones. We also have sites like humblebundle or non-charity keyshops like infamous kinguin or g2a, that help keep price down- and these are just 2 out of dozens. Do note that im STILL talking about ONLY PC shopping options. Doesnt look like monopoly to me. And besides, Valve just provides storefront, developers still place their own pricetags. Not to mention Steam offers very good way for new & indie devs to enter the market. And overall as well- you have your games in one place

to be fair, cheating AI isnt always bad if you can neutralise it somehow. But thats mostly case in older RTS

thats good to hear, but be on guard still just in case. Another test you can try is stand on your toes and then slam your heels on ground. if it hurts there, its appendix.
