Not blood (played it too much over the years) or hexen 2 (it had way more firearms and definetly no magic involved) As for second game- yeah, it seems like thats the one. Thanks!

crusade theme.. Well, there is Assassin's Creed original game, though it has slower pace than rest of the series. Its set during 3rd crusade. You can also try Medieval II: Total war and its Kingdoms expansion (has whole crusades campaign in it), in addition to crusades campaign you also have tons of mods at your disposal. Considered one of best RTS-s ever, despite the fact that its starting to show some age by now (still tons of fun though) Let's see... If you arent afraid of mods, there are many crusades mods for Mount & Blade: Warband (RPG) Those are all that i can think of at moment, as its 2 AM here.

Had few of those over the years, although i have rediscovered most of them. Only game i cant remember but i'd like to revisit was FPS either from very early 00-s or late 90-s (as i was rather little). I dont know what part of the game it was, but i remember it having enemies (skeletons or zombies) amongst other enemies that you could only kill with chainsaw or rocket launcher. It was game in style of duke nukem and original shadow warrior, only with better graphics than either (im quite sure it had 3d models instead of sprites, though my brain might be making picture more nice). Most logical guess would be Doom 3, though screens didnt seem quite right. While writing this i also remembered more obscure RTS game that i knew under name of "arsenal", though i havent found game with such name anywhere, at least not this one. What made this game obscure was that it only had vehicles, no infantry. Economy units were basically bulldozer, which you used to build your base and ore truck, which gave you credits. But it also had sea units and air units as well.

im quite sure i've played a few over the years, but cant remember them. worst game i can remember is rather recent actually- Assassin's Creed (original one, though im certain i've played worse games that came from 80-s or 90-s)

Mass Effect franchise, Life is Strange and Red alert 2 (heck, last one is currently still on the house in origin)
-
May i reccommend you to play c&c renegade for RGD? for me thats one of obscure games- i dont know (which doesnt mean there arent any) any other FPS/3rdPS game that is based on RTS (i also reccommend online portion of it)

ROSS'S GAME DUNGEON: FOLLOW-UP EPISODE #1
Meelis13 replied to Ross Scott's topic in Ross's Game Dungeon
uh... as constant TW player (and mod reviewer), i do say that while steam versions arent exactly great for mods, its rather easy to get mods working on that version as well. Also, since most issues stem from just having steam exe, just replace launcher with cracked one. Works like a charm. So, game like Battlefield 2 (not being sold or supported anywhere sides amazon anymore, its still in steam but not sold) is abandonware in eyes of law? -
ROSS'S GAME DUNGEON: FOLLOW-UP EPISODE #1
Meelis13 replied to Ross Scott's topic in Ross's Game Dungeon
Ross, i do reccommend AC: Unity, though not for the story. Story is love story and it doesnt make much sense, with or without assassins/templars tied in it. But it has lot of french revolution stuff to explore, you do meet few historical figures, have lot of weapons, witness beheading of king and such. Most bugs are fixed as well, so it is very playable and i do find it very enjoyable even despite the story. -
If you played original one, then try Ultimate Qix (alternate name: Volfied). After some research i finally found that game again. It was released in 1989 and it has lot more content than original Qix. I even found place you can play it online: http://game-oldies.com/play-online/ultimate-qix-sega-genesis#

now that breakout games are covered, what about one of those games that demanded you to crop picture to certain size without some object touching crop line. These were pretty common games as well and some of them were actually very challenging- i remember one space-themed where you could shoot enemies that was extremely hard. Also they are very obscure by modern standards- i havent heard there has been new such game in last 15 years at least. I hope you get what type games i mean, because i doubt i can explain it better.

What about wobbits? and hobbits?

Definetly try RTCW, its great even today. you get nazis, zombies and big zombies, no nazi zombies though. Extremely fun to play (though voice acting is.. ugh). also multiplayer is rather fun- nice formula thats still fun today, especially beach map. Wolfenstein, however, skip it. It just gets so repetitive and overall boring at some point it just makes you bored of trying to pass it. I played trough it all and its just so damn boring with unrewarding ending. I played it trough because i had nothing better to do, but damn it sucked. Also i noticed there are hacks that make game much more playable and fun. Game shouldnt do that!
-
I agree- whole Wolfenstein game individually is actually quite good, however overall feeling left it one of weakest games i've played. Not nearly as bad as Duke Nukem forever though (it demonstrated clearly how childish duke's humor was). Very nearly killed franchise- good thing that TNO was made by other developer.

i actually dislike this kind of games. Namely old first-person games, even though i love them at same time. For some reason, they are only games that can cause me severe motion sickness (not always, but often enough)- like the kind i'll be in my bed 2 hours trying not to puke after 20 minute game session.

Loom? same loom that was referenced in first Monkey island game? yes! the exAct same one! He was my professor a few terms ago and he was crazy scary, in a good way. He would just casually mention in lectures about 'that time i worked with spielberg' or 'that time i met george lucas', and in a surprisingly humble way. very very talented man, and one of the best professors at this school. Thats great! never played the game myself as i cannot find it anywhere these days, but from what i heard its good

i didnt care to read you guys entire argument about combine invasion and possibility to defeat them, but i saw few points that i think are wrong already first while its true G-man has never been called G-man in half-life, he WAS called so in Opposing force. second: reason why Combine were able to take over world in HL universe within 7 hours was because of portal storm- most military forces on earth are developed for conventional warfare, where you have fronts. War, where enemy can surround you within seconds due to use of portal technology is something only guerilla warfare can offer some defense about and i do think that conventional military fell within first half hour, only guerilla groups resisted longer. I mean seriously, what defense can you get against portal storm, where enemy can simply teleport behind you (think about teleportations in Half-life, only multiply it millionfold or even thousandfold), snap your neck and move on to next target? or teleport into lockdowned high alert, well defended military base? Or the fact you can just teleport defenders to space.. However, Combine combat technology (excluding portals) doesnt seem too advanced by modern standards- they are mostly still using gunpowder(or very high air-pressure)-based weaponry, with lot less range and accuracy than most modern weapons. Even their heavy weapons dont seem to be very advanced- striders are well-armoured yes, but they are less armoured than a modern tank and this is where their height proves big undoing- while it gives tremendous range advantage, it does give same for enemy. Also it has too many legs- it would be very easy to immobilise them with sticky bombs to legs. From combine weaponry, i'd say most dangerous would be hunters, but they dont seem to have lot of them for military use. Of course, the flying maggots seem to be more dangerous, but as evidenced, they too have their limits and they arent military anyways. So in conventional warfare, humans would have definite chance of beating combine- at least enough for fighting chance Which makes me think that to defeat combine, rebels would create some technology that wont allow teleporting anywhere on earth unless they allow to. Maybe its what Borealis contains...

That was simply brilliant- enjoy end of 2014 and happy new year for later! post credits scene was simply great- did NOT see that coming. But i take that means season 2 confirmed or maybe confirmed?
-
if i dont mix up my timezones, Ross got 12,5 hours left to win a bet. I hope thats enough time for him to actually enjoy year swapping
-
Oh boy, so this is it, huh? Actually that was probably most realistic reaction by Freeman ever for final boss- first the big "what the fuck? is it real or am i seeing things" moment of terror and awe... and then.. go to the happy place, Gordon, go to the happy place. But question, Ross (4 am question)- just out of curiousity not because i want to partake in bet (for 2 reasons i wont- 1)im flat broke after buying materials for final project and christmas gifts and 2)couldnt donate anyways due to lack of internationally accepted paying method (cant use paypal either...)). As i can be quite a nitpick, i began to wonder- presuming you release final episode (or preferrably final season of Freeman's mind season 1) in 31st, what hour would you consider the bet be lost? Let me explain it further- Poland (you still live there with your girlfriend, right? apologies if wrong and/or im being too curious) is quite in middle of timezones, which means in New Zealand, for example, it would already be morning by the time 2015 arrives in Poland, but at same time it would be hours until western USA for example would reach 2015. so, would you consider bet lost when new year clocks in whereever you are or when entire world has reached 2015?

tbh for some reason i was quite suprised to see xp as os...

Merry christmas ya filthy animal and a happy new year! (come on, you have all seen this movie)
-
ooh, special stuff? Freeman's life 3... uh, Half mind 3... damnit, half life 3 confirmed? or .5 episode? or bit of season 2? excellent job as always! close, but not a record- record was between 64 and 65 with only a hour difference with current cap
-
so, finally we get Gordon to discuss how he stays alive there (well, more therally anyways) tasting air sound was nice touch
-
whoa! how fast are you moving?! at least take christmas off- you have more than deserved a relaxing day off and im sure fans wont mind delay because of it *starts watching episode*
