Twas back when Ponychan was still relevant (and before it got flooded with attention whores), I came in right after EQD became a thing, I even remember being able to look at every post made in less than an hour.

It's natural for fans to experience a cool-down time if they're not SUPER HARDCORE into the fandom, it's a good way to mentally refresh yourself in preparation for the enjoyment of future seasons. Heck, back between Seasons 1 and 2 people thought that cool-down was going to be the death of the fandom, but we just had too many HARDCORE people joined at the time making neat stuff, it seems.

That still shouldn't give him the boss the right to fire the guy, especially since the times when he mentioned MLP were few and far between. It's not like he shoved it in anyone's face, or (as mentioned earlier) touched the little girl or anything like that, he made a couple of passing remarks when it was conversationally appropriate and put a completely SFW picture on his OWN desktop, where he had the right to make it what he wanted. There's also the fact that he (according to the vibe I get from this rant) was never able to defend himself in any way.

It's actually fairly clever, seeing as how the only reason Twi from the MLP world moved to Ponyville is due to Celestia's decree. In the human world there's nothing forcing the Twilight there to have moved to whatever county Equestria High is located in.

While I find CR!'s opinions towards later parts of FiM to be overly dramatic and overly critical, his review of Mare Do Well does well at showing what I (and many others) dislike about the episode: uigGGgSBpYU

If you think that Season 2 was anything but a step up from Season 1 then I really have to ask what your basis for a "good" episode is. If you look at a play-by-play of each season, 2 has way more hits and fan favorites than 1 does, even with Mare Do Well being in 2. Heck, it starts off with Discord and then immediately follows it up with Lesson Zero, one of the most lauded episodes of the show.

I am. I was expecting Rarity or Rainbow Dash. Fluttershy seemed like second-tier of the Mane Six. Owell. Rarity's among the least popular of the mane 6... but Rainbow Dash? She should've taken the lead hands town. Pfft, are you kidding? Apple Horse beats White Horse in terms of sheer unpopularity. Sure that's gotten slightly better what with the rise of Brony Analysts defending her, but it's not been enough.

The Fluttershy air combos were pretty much the only part of the video I did like. That and the part where you see Pinkie crying after she thinks she finished killing everyone.

Fright has little to do with it when it comes to things like gore, at least for me anyways. Personally it starts at plain old "uncomfortable" territory, then escalating into a sense of disturbed-ness and then finally plain ol' disgust at the images being presented, assuming an escalation of events.

I don't plan on rewatching the video to see the part you're talking about, but it's possible that AJ was just in shock or something.
