  2. i'm always doomed to failure. not sure why i even try.
  3. To be fair, it's pretty similar - you get motion sick when your eyes tell you you're moving, but your body isn't, so your inner ear and brain sort of get mixed up. Look up "simulator sickness" if you want to read more about motion sickness in video games and such.
  4. Thank you for not moving to 60fps. On account of my fiddly brain, videos with that high of a framerate are difficult for me to watch.
  5. There's only so much you can do for a person who has a mental illness, unfortunately. If she chooses not to take her medications, that's on her. The only thing you can do is be there. It really does mean a lot even if you can't help otherwise.
  6. Quick one here: "commit grammar mistakes" is technically correct, but a simpler way to say that is "make grammar mistakes." But don't worry about it. Seeing with my own habit of mangling sentences, I'd be something a hypocrite to yell at people for messing up theirs.
  7. Anything in the Gearbox expansions is canon unless otherwise contradicted, so the HECU is canon.
  8. On another note, this just happened:
  9. Hey, I did a quick search and came up with this: http://forum.videohelp.com/threads/321024-YouTube-HowTo-Lossless-unchanged-color Don't know if that might be something you already have covered. Edit: Also lookit this: http://forum.videohelp.com/threads/330410-Youtube-changed-my-colors!-What-to-do?p=2046743&viewfull=1#post2046743
  10. I use Virtualdub a lot, but it's not really a fully functoning editor (although the first episode of Civil Protection was made entirely using it!) Yeah, it's more of a linear editor. Still with the right filters and etc (there's a lot of third-party ones) you can surprisingly do a lot. I've got a folder in my bookmarks with a bunch of links to filters if you want it.
  11. I liked the game dungeon video.
  12. 1. As far as I'm aware, VirtualDub can handle it so long as you have the codec. 2. VirtualDub has a "convert format" filter that has a lot of settings. Anyways I'm only really half-coherent at the moment so maybe I'm completely off the mark here. Have to go run some errands with my mother so I'll watch the video when I get home
  13. Vent: my amazing ability to be able to pass out pretty much any time, even if I'm in the middle of doing things!
  14. I have a bunch of records in different conditions. My record player broke a few years ago though (or did we sell it? I forgot) so I just keep them up on the shelf in my closet. I should take them down to note down all I've got so I can find digital copies of them.
  15. Autism maybe? I have a tendency to be very literal-minded, so maybe that's got something to do with it.
  16. Yeah, hop back a bit to where timelines diverge and go to an alternate universe where HL3 has been released, grab a copy, then hop back. Also I'm not sure how he could jump out of my closet seeing as it hasn't got a door.
  17. Time travel?
  18. Vent: I made a really really bad decision and I'm really feeling the consequences of that one right now....
  19. I can't quite remember that. I'm pretty sure I came up with it myself but then found that someone had gotten to it before me. With this memory of mine though maybe I heard it, then forgot about it. So anyways. First thing is in one of the testchambers you can find a radio that just plays a lot of gibbery stuff. Turns out that's an SSTV image of this: A companion cube on the moon. Clue one. Second is where you find the portal gun. And then you look up: So yeah, that's about it really.
  20. About the Rattmann issue: There's enough clues in the game that actually could imply he suicided by portaling the moon. I'll explain more later, I'm not quite my most coherent at the moment.
  21. Yeah I'm not a huge fan of gross out horror like that, I prefer scary situations by far. As for why, I think in my mind it's kind of the same sense you get of exploration of the unknown, except that in horror, you know that what you're "exploring" via a game or movie is more hardcore and there's something with some teeth out there, heightening the experience. I suppose that makes some amount of sense. As for me, my brain just doesn't really comprehend horror too good - what experience I did have with it tends to leave me more confused as hell rather than scared. Not sure why that'd be.
  22. i wanted cookies but they all burned up so i cant have cookies
  23. I dont know much about horror really and sort of dont understand why people like to scare themselves (maybe someone can explain the concept to me). I do remember my friend got me to watch this really damn weird "experimental horror" called Begotten though which was just this guy disemboweling himself. It wasnt scary really, just nauseating.
  24. Vent: I found some stuff that reminds me of what an ass I used to be. I don't like to remember that.
  25. This one. It was on the classic rock music channel on the TV. I listen to a lot of classic rock and such but I try not to be a snot about it like some people I've seen.
