  1. How the hell did a discussion on whether givecurrentammo is used in the video turn into a political thread? I think this thread's long past its best-before date.
  2. More likely is that I clawed myself up in my sleep again. I probably would have noticed if I'd scraped myself while I was awake. Anyways there's an issue with the Steam servers that means only 50 addons are showing up in Garry's Mod and....well, I'm not exactly fond of the Garry's Mod userbase, to put it lightly: I thought 'skimming the page for a discussion before posting your own thread' was an accepted practice everywhere. I guess I overestimated them. Edit: Also so much misinformation in some of those threads, it's highly irritating.
  3. No alcoholic drinks for me. I once managed to get drunk on Nyquil, no exaggeration.
  4. Robots! Also very good the fundraiser. Wow oh wow.
  5. I'm almost out of my thyroid medication. I hate medication. I hate having to get blood jabs every three months because my thyroid gland decided to take an early retirement and quit on me. I hate all of my stupid health issues. Also I have a big gash in my arm and have no idea how it got there.
  6. Also it's apparently not a good idea to microwave water.
  7. I once put a CD (a failed burn) in the microwave to see what would happen. Nice light show but it stunk for a week or so afterwards. Lets not get into the time I thought that putting grapes in the microwave would result in raisins.
  8. Whoops.
  9. The bullsquid snot thing....well, i once splattered some cleaning stuff in my face and aside from my eye and getting an awful red rash thing i was fine. I guess its something like that. Maybe i was lucky though. As for the game being implausible: in the original version its possible for the big fish to destroy a helicopter.
  10. The human body can be surprisingly resilient.
  11. ArcThemAll! - Extract or compress multiple archives at once. DOSname - Gives you the 8.3 filename from any path or file. PStart - System tray application launcher. Also has a notepad. TreeCopy - Copies directory structures without all of the files. VirusTotal Uploader - adds item to your sendto menu to quickly check files with VirusTotal Windows System Control Center - Sticks all of the NirSoft and Sysinternals utilities into one place and also updates them for you.
  12. Wait that wasn't editing? Im surprised honestly.
  13. If it's anything like Madagascar in Pandemic 2, i feel your pain.
  14. Speaking of compression, I found NTFS compression pretty good, especially on lots of small text/html files. Those sorts of files can take up more space than they need to because of the....I forgot the name. The 4KB block thing.
  15. Yeah compressed files don't re-compress too good. Sometimes they can get bigger.
  16. I'm not surprised really. I think its a general rule of thumb that compressed shit is slower than uncompressed shit. That reminds me of the time I had a bunch of bitmap scans. I first compressed them to 7z, and then because I wanted to see what would happen I converted them to PNG and then compressed the PNG files to 7z. The original files not only compressed faster but the resulting 7z file was smaller. (I think the settings were Ultra, LZMA2, and Solid Block. Solid Block is good for compression but bad for speed.)
  17. Trying to convince my friend who I had sign up here to actually post something...
  18. Garry's Mod. I was using the Half-Life Renaissance mod which includes a bunch of HL1 and expansion NPCs and weapons. (Including chumtoads!)
  19. This is one of those subjects that can really make me angry. People refusing to get their children vaccinated because of the 'it causes autism' crap study that was refuted. And yet the stupid idea still a lot of people go for it. Not only is it putting the un-vaccinated children (who really have no choice over the matter) at risk, but also the herd immunity thing. People who actually legit can't get the vaccine because of allergies or whatever are being put at risk because of those who choose not to get it. Diseases are coming back and that is not a good thing. Let's not also get into the implication that dying of an easily-prevented illness is preferable to autism, but I want to bring attention to something else: Congenital rubella syndrome. It's when a pregnant woman contracts rubella in the first trimester, and it's actually associated with autism spectrum disorders. And it can be prevented by the very thing the anti-vaccine people are against. Bleh....if it were up to me I'd make vaccinations mandatory except for people who are allergic or can't for some valid medical reason.
  20. AI pathfinding at its greatest. Sometimes I swear I break every game I touch.
  21. Here's a vent: Garry's Mod screwed up again (anything new?) and only 10% of my subscribed addons will actually load. It isn't just me, either. Bleh. Also im always been a poor sleeper, but sometimes it can get a little ridiculous. Three hours of sleep and completely filled with nightmares is not something you ever want to go through.
  22. CubicExplorer - my favourite file manager TabbyFile - dual-pane file manager, pretty lightweight and very stable Snowbird - another file manager, almost no features but extremely extremely fast KeyTweak - remap specific keyboard keys Pale Moon Browser - optimized version of Firefox without annoying UI changes Unix Timestamp Calculator - converts Unix timestamps
  23. Huh, that's odd--my depth perception is pretty bad, but that might be my screwy brain. I tend to use all of the weapons too depending on what situation I'm in. I became something pretty good at sneak-shooting and stealth though, to the point where I snuck up on a black ops assassin. I think that was cool. On the other hand it can seem pretty weird when you use the pistol to shoot an HECU grunt in the arm repeatedly and he doesn't react at all (except for pain sounds) and then flops over dead.
  24. I'd rather not talk about it. I really don't like my mother.
  25. JPEG is lossy while PNG is lossless. I think TGA is uncompressed but I don't remember. The problem with JPEG is even if you save it at high quality, it still loses a tiny bit every time you re-save or re-code it and it can get pretty ugly. I never bothered with conversion -- after I got the video compiled and such I just delete all of the frames. I wonder if it affects the time when encoding it to h264.
