2033, in the Metro... It's in Russia. Do'h! missed the Metro reference. 2044

Less likely? you mean somewhere close to 90% less likely?
-
No evidence, huh? I still call Ad hoc. Note: I don't dispute the severity or existence of the corruption. I doubt the significant difference in culture affecting corruption and the use of violence to disperse it.
-
I'm pretty sure this discussion was about how cultural differences doesn't matter to a great extant within this context (peaceful removal of dictatorial/corrupt government structures).
-
Non fatal versions? Yes, the disease spreads in vaccinated crowds, but only non fatally. In anti Vaccination circles, the disease is killing people. The virus is also more likely to infect non vaccinated people, being weaker to the disease.
-
Mayo and hockey? You're using Ad hoc on overdrive now.
-
I'm still a gamer. I don't play as often as I want to, though. Has anyone here beaten Super Mario Bros? The original, NES version?

When was the first time? 2013? 2036

Very different. Seriously, it looks similar on the surface, but it's massively different at it's core. How? Canada doesn't really seem that different. Please use examples/proof.
-
True, viruses mutate. True, many organizations have made viruses into weapons. However, you have no proof that this was an accidental or purposeful release of a modified virus, and the statement that this could be a natural mutation is underscored by two points: first, you would have to put your views for evolution, as the mutation of a disease is verifiable evidence for it (virus X evolved so it wouldn't die off), second, these new virus outbreaks have occurred primarily in the anti-vaxer crowd, not people who got the vaccine. Also, if it was a bio weapon, then wouldn't it be able to "workaround" the vaccinated crowd, considering that most first world countries (and a few third world ones, too) have mandatory vaccines?

Before I can tackle that answer, we must ask, difference in what, exactly? Political, social, and/or economic change? If you claim, that this is all affected by culture, then you would be right, but only to an extent. If you were to argue, that major changes cannot be accomplished peacefully because of culture, and only culture, you're bullshiting. Let's use Canada. How different is the culture there (and I mean English Canada)? They got what needed to be done peacefully. Fucking hell, where to begin? Where is the evidence that everything in this thread has to do with politics? Corruption doesn't care how far left or right you are when it comes, so you're just whistling in the dark. Politics is not just money. Politics is also power, and anyone (and I mean everyone from the Democrats, to the GOP, tea party, Occupy Wall street, fucking anything and everything) no matter what is said, which affiliation, what is done, is easily prone to corruption and greed, and frankly, if you can't see that, you're just another political preacher trying to make his respective ideology seem like it was handed to him by God/aliens/the fourth dimension/the Earth itself/Cthulu.

This was a real post?!?! I thought it was a spam or something! Dude, how long were you looking around the internet for someone to talk about your game?
-
Well, if you can't see anything to debate (even though he basically said your "proof" doesn't work as it is only one data point and unverifiable) then I won't go on about that, but if you do have a faster acting immune system, that would dictate that over time such an immune system would be created to fulfill the need to fight disease. Although we can discuss that more in another thread of your choosing.
-
You confirm to me that you are playing politics. This isn't a political discussion. Make another thread for politics. And you can prove this with 100% certainty? You're just dismissing my argument because you don't like what you hear. You're using an Ad hoc to discredit me now.
-
Your point being that you want me to come up with something to debate? Thus proving you don't want to argue against a point you can't counter. Let me repost what Doom had said: One data point (that at present is unverifiable) has never, and will never constitute evidence. If your education in science progressed beyond the most elementary possible points, you should know that already. Yeah, you might have a super immune system. On the other hand, you could ALSO be super susceptible to the placebo effect. Of course, if you have a super immune system, that means that beneficial mutations exist and you have to throw all your weight behind evolution now.
-
And now you simply dismiss my argument on the basis "it's a different culture" without any evidence to that claim! (to specify: I'm not saying that they're all the same culture, I'm saying that you're invalidating my opinion because of the differences) Also, when you're talking about "political doubletalk", instead of mentioning anything about the corporations (which we've established is the reason for the corruption) it gives off the impression that you're trying to fulfill a political agenda instead of helping solve the problems the country faces.
-
Ah, now you're employing a double standard, where I must prove that my method will work "in this century and country" when yours is still unproven on the same criteria. Now you must attempt to prove your method, while I try to prove mine. The strategy for a peaceful resolution to happen is simple, although admittedly difficult: we (as in, this website and others) raise awareness on the present corruption over time, it doesn't have to be all at once, it can be gradually. Over this period of time, we become a large force that can challenge these corporations. Eventually, we stand up to these corporations once we have enough strength, being as peaceful as we can about it. Also, the breakup of the USSR was only one example. Remember earlier in the thread, where @Doom Shepard mentioned both India and Canada as peaceful examples?
-
Thus proving my point.
-
I said I didn't see any way for this to be done peacefully... Not that it definitely couldn't, and I even asked for ways that it could be done. (I refuted the only ones presented, since they had all been attempted before) I still stand by my allegory of the Soviet Union and the Eastern Bloc, although you're denying it for whatever reason.
-
Which you STILL have not provided. Oh my god who cares about some stupid paperwork that's not the point... where's the emote with the guy smashing his head into a brick wall? Not like he was going to debate Doom Shepard anyway...
-
Fucking hate the flu. Puked up my guts all morning, got a headache. Missed schoolwork. DICKS!!!

Which you STILL have not provided.

I'm not sure we would have a civil war so much as some sort of revolution. If it was a civil war, who would the sides be? The right wing vs. the left wing. I think you guys view him as a warmonger and he probably views many of your opinions as pie-in-the-sky thinking. I think it's just a matter of a logical conclusion based on the assumed truths. Again, what would be the alternative to fix our society in its current state? The problem is that BTG didn't even try to acknowledge the possibility of a peaceful solution, so yeah, he gave off the impression of a warmongering revolutionary. And while I might be considered optimist, I still think with enough cooperation and peaceful demonstrations, we'll solve this.

You are a blatant liar, as I had insisted upon no such thing. All I did was dispute the validity of the disease you had, if you even had it at all.
