  1. Seeing an eyeless version of yourself probably isn't a good sign of mental health. I have no idea why you'd worry about "him" when you should be worried about you. Get help. Right fucking now. I'm dead serious, get off the forums, and go get psychological help, because you are not in a good state of mind at all.
  2. It's windy outside.
  3. News roundup. http://m.ceip.org/syriaincrisis/?fa=56917 http://syriadirect.org/main/37-videos/1603-suwayda-residents-speak-out-against-military-service Assad's grip is weakening.
  4. News roundup. http://www.aysor.am/en/news/2014/10/17/iraq-is/ http://news.yahoo.com/baghdad-shootout-points-growing-militia-threat-115144527.html http://www.rferl.mobi/a/under-black-flag-islamic-state-anbar-excalation/26646953.html http://uk.reuters.com/article/2014/10/21/uk-mideast-crisis-iraq-sinjar-idUKKCN0IA1YW20141021 http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Peace/2014/10/22/Islamic-State-Affiliated-Twitter-Claims-Ottawa-Shooter-As-Its-Own http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/middle_east/islamic-state-militants-allegedly-used-chlorine-gas-against-iraqi-security-forces/2014/10/23/c865c943-1c93-4ac0-a7ed-033218f15cbb_story.html Notice how the original rationale for bombing ISIS (the extermination of the Yazidis) is promptly getting disregarded. At least there's some good news out of Tikrit.
  5. Okay this goes back to the "multiple breakthroughs" line again. I considered that maybe it only detects motion on a certain level, but what level? At the cellular level, who knows fast your cells are moving? Hell I think sneezes are at 100mph. Nerve connections and the brain in general must move pretty damn fast as well. I guess the thing is I don't see how you would cancel one type of momentum, but not the other; additionally I don't see how there would be technology to DISTINGUISH the two or even DETECT the difference in the first place. I really tried to think this one out and I couldn't come up with any scenario where momentum is cancelled AND you come out alive on the other end short of having some positional tracking and computational system way, way beyond anything we could dream about. Let us not forget, Black Mesa still uses giant tape reels on their computers. Its got something to do with Xen crystals.
  6. Strep throat. An apple or cherry pie?
  7. There wouldn't be much of a use for it, then. If you could go into the future? (and when I said "negative national stereotype", I meant the negative stereotype of ANY nation)
  8. Something that has to be explained. (for the record, look up the SCP Foundation on the internet) A potato, or tomato?
  9. There isn't a 055 though.
  10. Banned for stating my statement.
  11. I know that, I just didn't get it.
  12. I suggest you read what Ross has to say about them saying "you're going to the alien world", but in any case, he has no other options. He doesn't have any other choice but to hope like hell that they send him to Massachusetts. Freeman doesn't know that they're going to nuke the place (the only way to be sure ) and presumably assumes that something will be done about this, and that people better equipped than him will deal with it.
  13. If it's in 2000/2001, the "crappy armor" theory holds less weight, as the War on Terror began in late 2001. 2005/2006* MIGHT work, depending on the armor quality of US troops at the time. *2006 could be a year for the "HK53" theory, though. I of confused.
  14. You're forgetting something crucial here: Freeman has nowhere else to turn to. No exit, car, chopper, or food/water to keep him up on his trek through a desert. He literally has zero options except to trust the idiots he berates at every turn. What the hell is that supposed to mean? And for the record, I imagine that he would expect that kind of commitment being made by Navy Seals or Black Ops. A physicist who lucked out of death dozens of times isn't exactly on par with more elite US forces.
  15. Well, I'd work on honing Doctor Who cosplay/roleplaying skills instead. (I assume Star Trek is US Football, Star Wars is Soccer, and Doctor Who is Hockey). If you could choose a (negative) national stereotype to be, what would it be?
  16. Laser! Caution. Laser! Caution. Laser! What could it mean?
  17. Computer.
  18. Mouse+keyboard. Moving around by rolling, or by standing on your hands?
  19. Banned for making me expect.
  20. Did that, now the "decals.wad" file is acting up again, and verifying the game files didn't help this time. Going to uninstall-reinstall, and if that doesn't work, I'll defrag it. If that doesn't work, do you have any other suggestions? EDIT: Uninstalling and reinstalling didn;t work, and now my parents won't let me on the computer (Steam runs on a separate computer). Fuck....
  21. I love dark comedy. It's the depressing version of other forms of comedy.
  22. *Cue the sounds of me hitting my head against a wall for missing something in plain sight for the upteenth time.* Alright, it worked, but now it won't let me play until HL updates. Problem is, when it tries to update, it says an error occurred (and tells me it's due to no internet connection, even when my computer tells me I have an internet connection).
  23. Very true. I dub these changes in favorites "phases", right now I'm in a Half Life "phase".
  24. If Half Life takes place 2002-2004, then I'll take the "not sufficient armor" theory, if it's 2007-2009, then the "HK53" theory is enough for me.
