ROSS'S GAME DUNGEON: ARCADE AMERICA
ROFLOLBBQ111 replied to Ross Scott's topic in Ross's Game Dungeon
This is my favorite episode yet and it signifies a bright future for this series. I hope we get more wacky political stories, even if there's nothing in your reviews that would naturally lead into one. -
Freeman has figured out that the teleportation isn't random. Soon, he'll know a great deal more than any one man is supposed to.

Funding Freeman's Mind through Subbable?
ROFLOLBBQ111 replied to Nicereddy's topic in Freeman's Mind
Sounds a lot like Patreon. http://www.patreon.com/ Just like the "rivalry" between Indiegogo and Kickstarter. Edit: Speaking of Patreon, the Amazing Atheist is apparently using it so he doesn't have to put commercials before his videos. http://www.patreon.com/TheAmazingAtheist -
I can't believe I hadn't seen this before now. If this was originally posted in December, I should've seen the blog post. Regardless, I absolutely loved this. My one issue is that the big twist comes after the credits. When the credits started, I moved straight to the comments section and had the scene spoiled before I even knew it existed. I'm sure there are plenty of people who will close the window and never end find out about the final scene. Orrrr I could just be nitpicking. I still really loved this thing. I love anything that successfully combines dark comedy and psychological horror. Edit: So you did post about it. Where the hell was I?

I'd gladly vote for and buy this. I never got around to trying DOTA 2, but I'll definitely play any game that has your Freeman in it. At the very least, I'd buy it in order to support you, even if I never used it. Edit: Woah, I shoulda scrolled up. Yes, I will gladly vote for it so long as I have at least one hand to vote with.

It might make me sound egotistical, but I feel like I was a part of saving Freeman's Mind. I don't know if I was the first person to suggest TGWTG, or one of the first, but I was definitely something. And after months of whining to my friends that I've never contributed anything, this is just what I needed. And the hilarious new episode is the icing on the cake.

As one of the first people to suggest TGWTG to Ross, if not the first: Ermagerd I contributed something!

The whole idea is very noble. However, VALVe is like a holy man comparing to most corporations. And Ross explained before that he has to solve legal stuff with Machinima first in order to publish more Freeman's Mind without weird consequences on Machinima's side. This show is "the easiest" do make so it's not about funding the show itself it's about getting money for PUBLISHING it. I just realized I made a mistake in that I forgot to quote the post I was replying to. I was talking to the guy who suggested selling Freeman's Mind on DVD. That's the part that Valve could so for, not posting the clips online. In fact, has any other playthrough series been released on DVD in the past? (I should probably put some variation on "my mistake" here.) My understanding is that people tend to only want to buy things once. People might not be so willing to pay 10 dollars for Half-Life when they've already spent 20 on the Freeman's Mind box set, which contains footage of nearly everything in Half-Life.

Sorry, guys, but enough gameplay is shown in Freeman's Mind that it would pose a threat to Valve's sales of Half-Life. They could easily sue. What if we start a "Pay Ross's Rent (so he can make Freeman's Mind)" Kickstarter?

Mike Michaud is listed as That Guy With the Glasses' "media contact". Try him. http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/site-news/contact/12-contacts/4-mike-michaud I'm having trouble deciding if I should continue discussing this in the "communication achieved sort of" topic or the "april news" topic. Perhaps we should have a general Contractgate 2013 thread.

I believe Blip is the best place for Freeman's Mind to be hosted. However, Ross has stated in the past that his videos aren't popular enough for to support him unless he's also receiving payment from another group, such as Machinima. This is why I think, rather than just using the service the Nostalgia Critic uses, he needs to actually join the Nostalgia Critic's company. That Guy With The Glasses has a gaming branch called "Blistered Thumbs". A bunch of people who work for TGWTG are able to support themselves despite, as I believe (I have no sources on this), not making anything as popular as Freeman's Mind. Edit: Holy crap, I just remembered I already mentioned this on another thread and viewtopic.php?f=22&t=5294&start=100 Ross has apparently tried contacting them, but there's been no response...yet. I better go do some research on how we could sell TGWTG on Freeman's Mind.

There has to be an alternative to Machinima. I'm not sure how Blistered Thumbs (the video game branch of That Guy With the Glasses) pays, but I'm sure they'd be willing to pick up Freeman's Mind.
