I think it sounds fine either way. Especially the 'YOU OKAY RAINBOW DASH?! ANYTHING I CAN DO TO HELP?!!" which makes me faint every time. Easily my favorite line, and the one I feel is most befitting to her and not as insulting.

My theories: A. They decided to add Derpy last minute, so they didn't give her as much direction. B. They assumed she knew the character, seeing as how everyone else does. C. She started recording lines before they told her she was a she, and they didn't think she was trying to be male, so they just went with it none the wiser. D. They are all horrible at their jobs.

I would honestly not be surprised if you picked the third option. Your name is a girl's name and a guy's name put together, your pic is a little androgynous (sorry, just being honest), and your title talks about being unique.

Its because A) she's pink, which Celestia knows the merchandisers love, B) she's always smiling and happy, C) she's the cartooniest (in voice, appearance, and actions), D) she is the most traditional-looking pony (only one with curly hair, Earth pony, and as mentioned pink), and E) She broke the fourth wall, so I doubt anyone could have stopped her.

Maya is industry standard, every big game dev (apart from Crytek, who want 3DSMax as well) requires knowledge of Maya and Mudbox if you want to be employed. Industry Standard =/= Good. But I suppose if you're going to be working for a team, and you're going into Game Design, then sure, but 3DSMax is good for more technical stuff. Just remember that Lightwave is better for cool stuff.

Work at the front desk of my Dorm, not very many hours and not a very high hourly wage but its incredibly easy and very convenient. Though if I felt like half-truthing it, I'd say that I do some editing and rotoscoping for my Dad, who's a pro 3D animator who recently expanded to After Effects. But honestly I only do that when he's got a lot of jobs and can't do it on his own, or the work is so mind-numbing that he wants to do it half as much. Lightwave is the way to go, man. Only do Maya if you work in large groups or your clients are picky.

I really like Surprise, Spiiike, Spikedadragon, pinkietard, and of course Jappleack. Woonastuck isn't an ask blog, but it is adorable and fun, if extremely long.

I'm listening to Everfree Radio right now, and they bring up some good points about the last episode. They mention how Applebloom should have had a bigger role, considering how excited she was about her sister, and how Applejack would have been crushed about letting her down, and how she had just learned about how important it was to accept family no matter what. They also brought up the idea that Derpy could be in "a very special episode." I'm not quite sure they could pull it off, and I don't know if it'd be a good idea to start with. Oh, and they pointed out that Rainbow Dash was the only one who called her Derpy, and it is entirely possible that Rainbow Dash was calling her Derpy as a mean nickname (like Rainbow Crash), and that her name could still be Ditzy Doo. I choose not to believe that, but I'm sure it'll make some fan-fic writers happy.
