I believe so yes. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0746125/ Indeed. Another fun fact, he was Miri's crush from high school in Zack and Miri Make a Porno.

I don't know of any tagging software off of the top of my head, but as far as hashing goes, HashMyFiles is probably the best software I've used for the purpose. It can do MD5s, SHA1, SHA2, CRCs, and more. Where it really becomes handy though is the ability to add an entire folder with or without adding subfolders. Another handy feature is that if it finds duplicate files. When it does, it assigned the two (or more) files a number and highlights them, and then you can just click the "duplicate" column to sort by the numbers it assigned to quickly find all of your duplicate files.

An entire thread about just one artist? I know he's prolific and all but maybe it could be a thread about IDM in general? Anyway my favorites by him are , , and ( which contains an incredibly vulgar 4 minutes of talking, just watch the shorter version if you want to hear the song). It was an IDM thread in another forum that got me into electronic music in general, and I'm always changing my tastes and listening to different bands. It started with bands like Aphex Twin and Venetian Snares (pretty much polar opposites) and moved towards the more relaxing end with bands like Boards of Canada ( and are both just sublime). Lately I've been listening to whatever comes up on my Kodomo station on pandora (ckeck out and/or ).

You must. I can already imagine Maynard slamming his keyboard "DAMNIT I WAS ONLY 3 SECONDS SHORT!!!"

I'm not actually sure of it's a TAS, but it was done by a team of people. Either way it's still an impressive piece of work. Here's a .

I think using tools to assist in a speedrun is a bit like cheating, but that's just my personal opinion. I mean, if you can fundamentally alter the way a game plays, why not just give yourself the best weapon/armor/whatever and instantly teleport to the final level? Rant aside, there's a run of HL2 in an hour and a half (1:36:57) that completely blew my mind. Also just about any speed-run of Goldeneye for the N64 is a masterpiece, the times are already so fast how they get beat is a mystery to me. A prime example is this 0:57 run of the Facility on 00 Agent. Also a favorite of mine is the first level run of Perfect Dark:

But if the goal is to derail the current topic, how will it ever get to one topic long enough to be "derailable"? And now for something completely different...

Look on the bright side. At least you know now that the source engine may not be suitable for your needs. "No venture, no capital" I wish I could help you, I hope you find what you are looking for so you can continue to do what you really enjoy (with fewer headaches).

I just had a thought about his son. While it's true he was raised by one pretty much completely insane man, I would think there is a decent likelihood that he won't follow in that man's footsteps. I know he was his father, but something similar happened in Spain before Franco died. When he was nearing the end of his dictatorship he choose the current (would-be) king's son, and brought him up the way he wanted to and sent him to some military academies. After Franco died, he had a thorough understanding of the dictatorship, and it provided him with the knowledge of the loopholes needed to bring about a Democracy.

Wow, I just heard about this on the news. I'm not really sure what to discuss though, lets just hope his son (who I think will be taking over) isn't as bad as him. Also the level of world insanity just went up a LOT.

OP would enjoy that because he is a -edit-. EDIT: No offense intended, but since this is /b/ everyone is some sort of -edit-, especially OPs.

Well back then there was only CP and no FM.

Stupid Ways the Government is Trying to Screw the Internet
BDown replied to Pinkie Pie's topic in Serious Topic Discussion
Because it's mostly targeted at websites hosted outside the US, who provide content to Americans that is illegal here. It will affect the world the same way the American economy collapse affected the entire world. From what I've read, SOPA would also require changing root level DNS servers, which is a world issue. On a more general note, when a major country decides it's OK to censor the internet, other countries might follow suit. Granted this is a mostly American problem, as you said it's the WORLD WIDE web, and any attack on it should be considered an attack on the entire system. -

I mostly read technical books. I read all of my text books cover to cover this semester: The Cultural Landscape The New Spaniards (actually read it twice) EnCase Certified Examiner Computer Networking: A Top Down Approach EDIT: I also read a book on Mobile Forensics, although it wasn't required. More typically, this summer I read some of Stephen King (mostly writing as Richard Bachman). I read The Long Walk, The Running Man, Thinner. I also read about half of the A+ Certification book. My reading plans for the winder includes mostly technical books, but I also want to read Blaze, The Dark Half, and The Dead Zone (All 3 by King), as well as start Don Quixote. I'll check back in a few weeks to see how much I haven't done because of my general apathy...

Woke up this morning to this awesome wintry desktop for all you people in the northern hemisphere. Possibly for southern hemispherians as well if they want to try to forget that it's summer.

You are lucky. I also must agree with you there, it is a shithole. However, I think it serves a vital purpose. It makes Pennsylvania and New York look vastly better by comparison, because "At least they aren't Jersey!" I'm not sure how this woks in Delaware, though. Is it similar?

Oy! Eau ae aa ai. I guess it would be roughly "Hey! Water one lava sloth." EDIT: Forgot to put a rule. Next post must use at least 2 Q without a U words.

Does that say "BEWARE HIGH SCHOOL"? That's pretty extreme, I like it. No, silly. It says NEWARK. Now you guys can stalk me. YAY! And JC, you dick. You've been to Antarctica?! How did you manage that? Do you shit gold bricks or something. I'm jelly. Although one of the main things you have to do in Newark is beware.

Hey! What's going on here. Damn all you crazy kids with your internets, and the googling, and the we should all fear Lord sinister. The next post can only contain words 4 letters or less.

Oh God THIS game! WHY ARE THERE SO MANY RULES!! THIS IS TOO HARD! Even with my Doctorate degree from MIT, I never had to jump through this many hoops! Except for that one time when we tried to turn my dorm hallway into a wormhole by arranging hula-hoops in line down the hallway. Then I had to jump through a lot of hoops. That was fun... The next post must be a palindrome.

That 2nd one is amazing! I also like the first one a lot too.
