Yeah it just creates a lot more work for the DM, since he would have to keep track of the enemies AND his own NPC.
-
The DM usually doesn't have a character though, Jek =P

I was originally planning to make a half-elf cleric, but since the DM said no more magic users I guess I'll do a different class XD

--- Ok, if I'd be a master ten I'd recommand: 1. No special setting. As long as the improvised world is good, I'd use the most common Dungeon&Dragons fantasy world. I can make a small map (you guys can make it as well during the game) of the area we will play on. 2. Only the classic races: http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/SRD3e:Races (I migh agree on races with level modification +1 but only if you have the monster's handbook). 3. Start at 1st level, or 2nd of the class. I wont agree on multiple classes like rouge1/cleric1 et cetera, only one class per character 4. Not at the begining. 5. Any usefull items +basic weapons and armor. 6. I'd probably start it in a classic way, don't worry, you all wont just woke up with amnesia. 7. Start with all atributes at 8, having 28 points for adding them to every atribute. About number 7, will we have the normal 18 points as max in a stat or would be able to pool all 28 into one stat?

Alrighty, so we have who the DM is settled, i would suggest that we do this in a order, for instance: First the DM says what he needs, then the players move in a set order, that way everyone will get to do things fairly and such, does that sound good? And should we paste a link to our character sheet here, for instance a link to a scan on DA or a dropboxed PDF?
-
Now, heres a big question: should we use open source content for races/classes?
-
And I see nothing wrong with using non-basic races as long as they aren't broken

I don't think theres too many differences between 3rd and 3.5th other then 3.5 made some improvement, for instance in 3rd they forgot to give the ranger ANY class abilities, this was of course rectified in 3.5
-
Well, it seems everyone who have poted here are interested in playing, I would suggest that we maybe do a very simple adventure to get everyone aquainted with the rules and such, when we have a DM, that is XD
-
Sadly I'm not a very good DM, I'm far too inexperienced, not to mention english isn't my first language.
-
That's what I was thinking, this will be a experimental process of course, since I dont think anyone have much experience playing in this way. XD
-
I agree, though are there any that are against using pathfinder? After all we need to come to an agreement and such do everyone can have fun.
-
3rd edition is pretty good, theres also pathfinder, which is commonly called 3.75 since its virtually the same just improved and simplified a bit.
-
And of course I forgot to ask which edition you guys want to play =P

About dice I was thinking that we trust eachother and either use our own dice or a app that does die rolls.

So, I was wondering if anyone here are interested in playing here in the forums? If you are interested please tell me what you would be most interested in, for example if you are interested in DM'ing or playing, what kind of adventure you are interested in and other such information. Hope to get at least some feedback on if anyone are interested, I'll post links to some tools if anyone are interested. --Thad out. EDIT: Here are some tools to help everyone out: 3RD Edition Wiki. http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/SRD3e:System_Reference_Document Character Sheet: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/dnd/charactersheets/ (3rd ed is at the bottom) Die Throw App (in browser): http://www.wizards.com/dnd/dice/dice.htm

Those two games are made by the same company actually, That Game Company. Yeah, the ending is one of the most moving experiences I have ever been through, and yet it's the most imposible to describe for me personally.

Journey The reason why I love this game is very difficult to explain, but I will give it my best. You start out in a desert with a mountain in the distance, it is clear that this mountain is your destination, why? That is up to you as there is no story per say in the game. As you travel you see many different places, including a gigantic expansive desert, old ruins and ancient catacombs, all of which have their own feel. You may also find other people as you travel, others who like yourself are on a journey, for you see this game has 100% smoothly integrated multiplayer, in other words, you won't get a large flashy message saying "XXX HAS JOINED YOUR GAME!" or any loading screens, you simply see someone else in your world (or are you in their world? No body knows). Now then, let's get into the more technical parts of this review. Graphics Wow, just... wow... I'm usually not too fond of the realism of most modern games, but the graphics of Journey still has me awestruck. When you travel you will see the grains of sand as you walk, and the general look of this world is amazingly beautiful in my eyes. The way every new area looks different and varied is also a good thing. Sound The soundtrack to Journey is, simply, amazing in my opinion, the music is emotional, mood setting and very nice to listen to in itself. BgASRvG1pws ceVqDMLD4Ek Gameplay The gameplay is simple, all your controls are moving with the thumbstick, jump with X and using your call with square (or was it circle? I never remember the layout of the playstation controller). As i said before, the multiplayer aspect of the game is completely seamless, and you don’t have any way to directly communicate with the one you're traveling with, though for some reason that adds to the experience in my opinion. That about sums it up, I realize that on paper it sounds boring, but for some reason this game really stands out to me, the feeling of traveling alone actually makes the world feel big and scary, and seeing someone else in the world feels... indescribable, you feel... safe... knowing someone else is there with you. The game doesn't take long to play through, maybe an hour or two tops, but that hour feels more fulfilling to me then the 100 hours I've played of Skyrim. I HIGHLY recommend checking this game out if you have a PS3. --Thad out

Granted, now you're addicted to WoW instead I wish D&D books weren't so expensive
-
Granted, but it's NTCS so you can't use it I wish I didn't have to go on a 7 hour train ride in about an hour
