I'll say it again, Freeman's Mind is a satirical look back at Valve Software's classic game, not an eye candy filled Let's Play of a highly derivative fanmade modification, so the idea of switching bugs me.

Is there a way to play Half-Life 2 in its entirety using the 2006 version of the Source engine? I have a lot of pet peeves about some of the changes in the bug filled Orange Box/Mac Update version, and I wish there was at least an option to disable them. Would a simple 2006 Source mod using content from the .gcfs work? It's nothing too major, just a matter of preference.

How would you treat the differing aspect ratios? Episodes 1 to 16 were filmed in 1.33:1, so would you crop and scan the frame, or leave it pillarboxed?

Not The Thing per say, but Half-Life kinda reminds me of the Quatermass TV serials and movies, especially the second one. I've also made a fake timeline: Half-Life (1958) [b/W/1.33:1 Ratio] Half-Life "II" (1964) [Color/CinemaScope] What do you guys think the second Half-Life film would be like? "The sequel to the greatest science fiction shocker the world has ever known! Six years in the making!"

You and me both. There would be some kind of cheesy monologue about "meddling too far into the unknown" set to footage of the New Mexico desert and a foreboding musical score. Then, the title card would zoom into place from the horizon, accompanied by an orchestral scare chord.

This crazy idea has been floating around in my head for some time: What if Half-Life was a 1950s science fiction film or adventure serial? Imagine, stop motion animated Gargantuas, costume Vortigaunts with optically added lightning bolts, and some gorgeous matte paintings of the Surface Tension cliff face. Please share your thoughts and ideas!

I've made much more elaborate efforts. I've recorded the first three seasons of RMA Studios' Stupid Mario Brothers series onto tape, along with a 1980s style blurb on the back of the case.

I have watched FM at least once through my Wii Console, not exactly on a big screen, however. I have two TVs, one of which is a 13 inch CRT, slightly smaller than my widescreen laptop. Through a VGA converter, I have actually recorded a few chapters of Half-Life: Source onto a VHS tape.

Anyone here think a mind series based off of They Hunger would be a good idea? Call it "Arthur's Mind" or something.
