I definitely want in on this. I recently reinstalled the game on my new pc. Can whoever sets this up post the info on this thread? I'm not a member of the steam group.

I'm looking at the YouTube comments and the comments on Valve Time. lol People saying they are going to pirate this because of X are either horrendously stupid or terrible trolls.

Switching it to front speaker mode from headphone mode reduced the effect, but didn't totally eliminate it. Turns out that THX TruStudio Pro was the problem. I turned it off, and bam, the problem is gone. Thanks for the help. I'm fairly certain it's a Realtek chip since it shows up as a Realtek High Definition Audio device in the device manager and system information. The codec is also Realtek, ALC898, as well as the driver and software that pops up when you plug in an audio device. However, the software that goes with the motherboard is Creative Sound Blaster, X-Fi 2, EAX, and ALchemy. All on an ASUS board with on-board audio. I'm not sure what to think. Is it worth having all that extra software installed? Or is it doing something that I don't notice right now that's needed?

So I recently built myself a new gaming rig. It is a huge upgrade from the Dell laptop I was on for the past 4 1/2 years. First PC I built myself, and It has been worth every penny. The only problem seems to be the audio. The motherboard is a Maximus V Gene from ASUS, which is supposed to have great on-board audio. I figured it would be a big step up from my laptop, and while it definitely has less hiss, the audio quality seems worse now. All sounds seem to lack the punch that they used to have. I first noticed it with gunshots in Half-Life 2, especially the 9mm pistol. It almost sounds muffled/distant now. I noticed it in some music I listen to as well (I mainly listen to classical). The same thing happens whenever a bass drum hit occurs or a lot of instruments start playing. It should be noted that all sounds are like this now, but it is especially noticeable when the things that I talked about above occur. Messing with the equalizer doesn't really help, and neither has plugging in the headphones to the back to the computer rather than the front panel header. I am using the same headphones I was before, so the only change is the internal computer hardware. The motherboard is working fine otherwise. Can anybody help me out?

Personally, the pledge has no effect on me. I've been saying it for 13 years now in school, and it hasn't made me any more loyal to the United States than if I had not said it. This is one of those things where the enforcement depends entirely on the teacher. Some could not care less if you didn't say it. Some don't even have the class do it at all. Kind of like flag codes. If I drag the American flag on the ground or use it as an oil rag, the cops aren't going to come after me. Actually, flag burning is considered a protected form of free speech, despite what the media might want you to believe. What was stranger to me was that in elementary school, we said not only the pledge, but part of the Declaration of Independence. Specifically this part: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed." I didn't even know what it meant at the time. I actually think that it would be much better to say this than the pledge. Just take out the part about a creator, and replace men with people. It also doesn't carry any sort of national loyalty pledge, even though it was written by Thomas Jefferson. Just be sure to teach what it means. -
This episode really shows off what counts, the content and the voice acting. It doesn't have to be brilliantly animated for it to be good. Even still, we do appreciate the extra effort you put in to make each episode shine. It sets you apart from the rest. Anyway, I hope you can find a real solution in the future that will work for you Ross. I would offer advice if I could.

I choose website fixes as well. Although fixing the downloads page and putting up x264 copies of videos should kind of be one objective in my opinion. The biggest problem is that Halloween Safety and Oil's Well are not available for download at all, none of the links work and there's an error message on the Halloween Safety video page. I was actually planning on making a post in the Misc. AF Stuff area listing all of the problems I have found with the movies section and problems with the downloaded videos themselves. This wouldn't be an attempt to nag you, but I thought it would be nice to provide you with a nice reference list with all of the problems from an end user perspective. This is so that if you get the chance to work on it, all of the problems can be seen in one place, rather than relying on scattered information you may have received over a long period of time. This would provide a chance for other people to chime in as well, and point out stuff I may have missed. Would this be helpful to you, Ross, or a waste of effort?

An analysis has been done of over eighty studies of the link between party and either liberalism or conservatism among state and federal judges in cases involving civil liberties, criminal justice, and economic regulation. It shows that judges who are Democrats are more likely to make liberal decisions and Republican judges are more likely to make conservative ones."

You can actually take out the Vorts with one revolver shot if you hit them square in the eye. I got progressively better at it as my play-through went on. If you get good enough, you can take out quite a few of them on Interloper this way. It helped a lot.
