It's one of those 'so random it's funny' type vids imo. But I can see where you're coming from.
-
It really depends on the type of machinima you want to make and what resources you already have. If you're going for a mind series, then all you literally need is a screen capture software e.g. fraps, a decent mic and audio software and a decent video editing software.

EPISODE 10 IS OUT!! (SEASON 1 FINALE) The Courier is forced into combat yet again. It's not the first time he killed someone since coming to the Mojave, and little does he know, it certainly won't be the last.
-
It was only funny the first time I saw it tbh.
-
Not only that but even if you use the same writers from the games, it won't necessarily be any good. Bare in mind that writing for a game and writing for film are two different things, just like how you can't easily translate a TV series script directly to film: the pacing alone would be problematic.

I don't think I've seen another MMO that have photorealistic graphics before tbh. Plus, Old Republic is apparently one of the most expensive games ever made in terms of budget, they're not going to blow every penny on graphics.
-
Yeah but you got to remember it's a MMO, you're not going to get photo realistic graphics. I think one of the devs for that game actually said in an interview that they chose the art style deliberately.
-
Is anyone here going to get the Old Republic?

well too late now, the sale's over I think XD Still, there'll be a christmas sale and a spring sale and a summer sale etc. By this stage, I think we all know the Steam patterns.
-
I'm thinking of buying Deus Ex HR from Steam (it's on sale) along with all its DLC packs so far. Is it worth it and will there be more dlc for this game?
-
Welcome Thadeus! You'll like it here

Yeah I used to think that he's really speaking the whole time but there are occasions where things are little bit ambiguous. So for example, he blatantly insults some of the scientists and guards, often to their face. I suppose you could say that the npcs aren't programmed with any 'responses' as such, so the only explanation would be that they know Gordon so well that this sort of thing happens all the time and everyone just ignores him. But then there's that time where he ponders on using the scientist as a human shield and realises he said that out loud, which implies that some of his lines were actual thoughts. And what about the times when he's trying to sneak past soldiers but is still speaking out lines; it seems completely stupid to say things out loud when you're trying to be stealthy.
-
This is probably already answered somewhere else, but I was wondering: how much of the lines in FM are Gordon's thoughts and how much of it are him actually talking out loud?

How would you do a Half-Life film?

The problem with portraying the 7 hour war is that the audience might be left without much closure. We know that it ends with humanity's surrender, the Combine's dominion over Earth and Breen's ascension to power, but the film would need to be much more than just a prequel to HL2. -
Yeah, the only real difference I can see is that 2fort classic didn't have a covered bridge and the capture flag points are different.
-
A mind series set in a horror game would require a VERY good voice actor to both pull off a convincing reaction to any scares AND make sure it doesn't get grating on the ears after a while.
-
I only ever play with friends while using Mumble or some sort of chat program, it's damn near impossible to coordinate a team without speaking to them directly.
-
up to this point, I think Freeman have only seen the G man up close i.e. close enough to see his face twice. Once on the tram ride and once through the exit door (which he thought was a one way mirror). The rest of them were always too far away to tell if it's the same guy. So it might be a while yet before Freeman even realises that he's being stalked.

EPISODE 9 IS OUT!!! The Courier enters the Powder Ganger's HQ, meeting some weird and not so wonderful people. But how long can his disguise last?
-
Last time I tried Dolphin, it was still in its early stages so I don't know whether it's better optimised now. But at the time I remember trying Smash Bros Melee, and it was simply unplayable. In regards to my specs, I have an Aspire 5739G with Intel Core 2 duo 2.0Ghz processor with 4 gb ram (but apparently Vista limits to 3 gb).

'Visualboy'? The one I used was called 'Virtualboy' and it rarely lagged. The DS emulators lagged like s*** though, that's another reason why I gave up on it. And speaking of lag, anyone ever tried to get a gamecube/wii emulator running? It's like watching a powerpoint slideshow -_-
-
Actually, now that I listen to it again, you're right, that's not Niko. I thought it sounded like him when he said "F$%^ you punk!"
-
True, but the few games I have played on it (e.g. driving games and platformers) were all fine. It's the shooters that get the worst end of the deal since none of the emulators I tried at the time support mouse movement. So trying to play Goldeneye on a keyboard was impossible. It was better with a gamepad though. Oh and I used to emulate GBA a lot; I had so much fun with Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission
-
I used to emulate N64 and DS, but last time I checked (which was a while ago), DS emulation was still quite bad. And even if the framerates etc gets better, it still doesn't change the fact that you're replacing a stylus with a mouse.

lol even after the Combine take over the Earth, Eddie is still up to his old tricks
