I'm really starting to like cyberpower. It's alot easier to tell how you computer will run. Just made another one for a better $770. Just one question: Is it good to have a power supply ABOVE the recommended power supply? Or can you keep it right with the recommended supply
-
Did a basic run through cyberpower's configurator, came out at $852. The cases... Are maybe a bit too fancy. Wouldn't they have a basic one? I'll give it another shot tomorrow.
-
Okay I've done more research, and it's came down to AMD radeon or Nvidea geforce. Which graphics card is better? I found a website ( www.ibuypower.com) where you can create your own computer, and it is assembled for you, (I bleaked away from the build-your-own-on-your own, and wait until I'm more advanced in the art of technology.

That link didn't work. And could you get a student discount for operating systems on newegg? That would be nice.
-
Thanks! One more quick question... Would Windows 7 come with it?
-
Um, ordinary games would be civilization, red alert, half life's... Um, graphical wonders would be, well, um, I can't think of any examples. Games that have subscription costs and people spend every waking minute of every day playing them. I've given the build-your-own more thought. I know that I won't be able to do this on my own. But I think I'll give it a shot, maybe get some more help, find a guide....
-
Well, It's a bit much to understand, but I will look into this build your own - computer more. Thanks, I'll consider this as an one of my options. And as in gaming, I mean ordinary, games, and not graphical wonders. I didn't know if that's what you meant by 'gaming'. So, have you personally built your own computers? Do all the parts need to be specifically fit into the case?
-
You misunderstood me. I meant buy a new computer, then upgrade the graphics card instead of building a new one. There's NO way a graphics card would help my computer now,it's just too old.
-
Um, I'm from the U.S., but I'm a little bit shaky on the build your own computer. Perhaps I will just upgrade the graphics/video card. Maybe I should wait another couple months and then see.

Well, I figure that as long as I've decided to step into the world of computer gaming, and for the fact that I'm taking VR next year and have been fooling around with blender for quite sometime, I need to get a better computer. I won't be able to help much, seeing that I don't know much about computers, but what better way to learn. The one I have now runs on windows xp, and has a, uh, AMD Athlon processor xp. It can't even handle civilization 3. We can get Macs out of the way right now, I don't want to go near one. I have about 600 dollars to give un-reluctantly with a roughly 200 dollar buffer zone before we get to my savings. I have high doubts that this couldn't get me anything real good to handle all the things I want, but there is always hope. -I need to handle pretty much every game by valve, especially gmod. -I would also need to handle designing software, including blender, scrypting software, and everything in that area. I'm looking at best buy, and wondering: Which processor is better, Intel, or amd? And which base brand would be good, HP, Gateway, Dell, acer... I imagine that Lynix is the best operating platform, but would windows 7 work just fine? Give me crap, give me critism, give me tips, give me what I want, give me whatever I need to be a better geek.

Heat advisory across the entire midwest, and if your outside for more then twenty minutes you face turns gray because of all the dust. Joy.

What is Your Favourite Freeman's Mind Quote/Episode/Moment
SmokeGnome replied to Trickiert's topic in Freeman's Mind
I have a couple favorite ones, one of course, is, "SUCKER!" The other, is right when he gets the mp5 from dead soldier early in the series, something like: "Yes, the sub machine gun! Solving up to 800 problems per minute!" And lately, the newest one, something like: "Orange gas... That's gotta be dangerous. We could get away with this if we were making cheetos, but... I don't think this is the case." -
Hiya, I'm SmokeGnome. Sorry I didn't introduce myself here first, I'm used to seeing a 'new members bboard' and not a sub-forum. You can read my transition into the world of Freemans mind, and in short, I can say that I was hooked after, "SUCKEEEEEEEEEEER!". Since then, I've seen most of the Civil protection episodes, and have gone through Freemans mind twice. One marathon, and the, whenever-one-comes-out. On any other forum, or gaming network, my username is ALWAYS 'Black Mesa' or 'Mesa'. Seeing as it's important factor in this forum, I decided to not get cocky and leave it out. Anyway, I HATE putting random numbers and stuff all over the place in my usernames.

May be a bit nerdy, but it is Zelda 2. Honestly, I never beat the first level.

During the time, I was searching a lot of videos lately, and Freemans mind ALWAYS showed up in my search. For weeks, even months, I avoided it, thinking it was another amateur, non-professional video with bad sound and video quality. One day, I was with a friend, and clicked on it. Right when it got to, "SUCKEEEEEEEER!" I was hooked. Since then, I have checked back every week to see if a new one has come out, and only recently have been coming to Accursed farm, and just now to make an account. In fact, we are buying a projector to replace an old tv. First thing I'm going to do, is get some friends, hook up the laptop and marathon through the series. Again.
