  1. I did google it. Not alot of answers that didnt contain: "upgrade to linux" Depending on how you download things, you should be able to limit the speed through the application. The steps to do this vary for each program, so I really can't go into any meaningful detail with it. You could do it on the operating system level, but that's more than I feel like explaining here. Next time, google something like "limit download speed windows 7" this will get you more concise results than if you didn't specify the OS. Getting my laptop back today or tomorrow, Ill search around more specifically. If its too advanced, Ill just buy a 7200 RPM.

  3. So did I, untill I lost most of my friends due to... reasons. You do make a valid point, though.
  4. I shave with a knife. Problem ?
  5. Whatever happened to games? Battlefield has gotten worse, call of duty got bad 4 and forward, ace combat failed with their newest etc. I remember playing tribes as a kid and it was HARD. Because those games actually had some challange. It wasnt: "Shoot enemies to kill them durrrrr" My generation is bad, and I should feel bad. Tribes ascend is still fun though. Also noticing how mass effect 3 is starting to show its lack of interaction....
  6. I did google it. Not alot of answers that didnt contain: "upgrade to linux" Anywho, fixing this seems more complicated than it should be. If Im not mistaken, you can replace the HDD on laptops? An SSD is WAY out of my pricerange. However a 7200rpm HDD could work. From what Ive read (on google, the most reliant search engine in history) it tends to run alot hotter and causes overheat problems. This problem I have happens when Im using like 2 small programs at once. Not as much lag, but certainly more often. If its the HDD reading/writing speed, my laptop most have a REALLY slow HDD. If so I have no other choice but to upgrade. Guess Ill start saving money again.

  8. On my desktop however, I can do like 3 things like this at the same time. Could it just be that the laptop HDD is slower? It's a definite possibility, since a lot of laptops use 5400rpm drives versus the 7200rpm drives users typically have in their desktop. If you want to avoid lag in multi-tasking between downloading and gaming in the future, you could always put an artificial cap on your download speeds to keep write speeds to the HDD at an acceptable level. I should try that. And since Im technically retarded at times, I must ask how this is done?

  10. Dont know.... Where do I check that ?
  11. Yes I know, Im sorry for spamming this part of the forum with new threads... (Pherhaps a tech assistance thread would be something?) but Im having serious issues while multitasking on my dell xps 15. Im downloading WoW, and I decide to kill some time with some Saints row: the third. Now when I start up saints row the computer freezes for like 10 seconds, then it smooths out, and then start to lag again. Its not the RAM, I checked and it was at 3,77. The processor wasnt taking much heat either. So I have NO clue whats causing this... Specs: i7 2670qm (I think) Nvidia gt525m 8 GB of RAM The wow download was still going when I ctrl+alt+del out of it.... Temps were also fine. Similar lag spikes happens while multitasking on other programs (not as bad, though)
  12. Thinking about getting back to WoW.... Anyone here playing ? Is it still fucked up since cata?
  13. I have a samsung with buttons (a new one actually). But it was so slippery I dropped it and broke the display.......... Now Im using my iphone 4s with jailbreak, so its not THAT bad.

  16. Oh no, what now?
  17. It felt like yesterday when I first put the 1942 disk in my first computer! Happy 10th birthday old friend!

  20. Oh please, you can barely hear what they're saying usually. And even at the time when you hear them talking during On A Rail it's not THAT bad. Really, the whole hate with the voices is such an overreaction. I spent more time worrying how I'm gonna survive the next area over how bad the voices were, and they weren't, really. The soldier A.I is good and all. (Muzzleflashes look so damn cool) But I hate how they repeat everything constantly. Otherwise they sound pretty good, reacting to being shot in different limbs is cool, but sounds a little off. Another complaint: WHY IS THE MP5 BURST?! I HATE BURST!! Other than that, this is one of the best things I have ever played.
  21. I actually feel sorry when the guards die when I play BMS, they feel so much more real. And the music, the new additions to "scenery" really makes this feel immersive. I love this to no end. Edit: And the immersion is totally dead now that Ive fought some soldiers....
  22. Now THAT is the kind of laptop cooler Im looking for. My vents are really weird placed. Not many coolers fit for them. I will see if they have this one in any local store. Thanks for showing me that!
  23. If you haven't already purchased the Zalman fan, be sure to check the model # to make sure you either get a fan with no LED color, or one with a color that would match your desired scheme. AFAIK, they have red, blue, and no LED models of the Zalman mentioned above. Havent purchased anything as of yet. I will make sure I get the right one. Cash comes in 27th. Either CPU fan or a laptop cooler. (maybe both if I can afford it).
  24. I have barely played it, just the first minutes (before the hazard suit) was fucking awesome. I love how they've added new dialogue and areas. This mod is simply the best mod ever.
