I hope the Black Mesa mod doesn't screw up that part. Black Mesa is arguably as insane as Aperture Science. If they don't acknowledge that, then where's the comic relief?

The thing that I love so much about Portal 1 is that the test chambers, at least the early ones, were fairly unambitious and boring, making it that much more disturbing when something deadly was introduced. With Portal 2, you’re quite literally put in an unrealistic amount of danger from the get-go, thinning out that feeling of “oh-my-God-what-is-wrong-with-this-place?” that was instinctively there in Portal 1. Play the Portal: Alive & Kicking demo. It gets it spot-on.

...while Black Mesa spares EVERY expense. Aperture’s decades old, rusted over catwalks still hold up extremely well, while Black Mesa’s catwalks folded like cardboard on THE DAY OF THE INCIDENT.
