  1. I completely forgot the suit had a stealth mode. Was that even part of the gameplay?
  2. It's called 'video'.
  3. I wish there were other, equally profitable sites where he'd get the same amount of exposure. Machinima.com doesn't own the word machinima, does it?
  4. I'm so proud of you. I'M SO PROUD OF YOU!
  5. Wow. I watched it a bunch of times and I didn't even notice that line. Edit: I think he says "I chase electron orbits"? It does make a bit more sense than the astronomy thing.
  6. Holy crap, that's good!
  7. It was made too fast to be a Civil Protection short.
  8. Of course he does. Well, then by the inclusion of journal entries Shepard should already have more character than Freeman. The point is that as long as there is something or someone that reacts to your presence, even without dialogue there will be some sense of character instilled to the player. The extreme would be Chell, since she has almost nothing of the sort reflecting on her actions aside from GLADOS. And even GLADOS doesn't really start to pay attention to her until she starts trying to escape (and react situationally rather than informatively). It's also why I like Chells Mind so much more than the others. The woman who made it did the most with the least available material.
  9. Well, Shepard's Mind isn't over yet. I definitely want to see how it ends out.
  10. You know, I really should have mentioned in my first post it does get better after he figures out his routine. If only it could stand a little more on its own.
  11. Yeah, I remember hearing about him while watching Trolljegeren. It was a good thing I got to watch that movie with an expert on Norwegian culture on my side. I'm sure 80% of the humour in that movie would have blown straight past me. I'm gonna see if I can get my hands on the Norwegian dubbed Ice Age. Good practice for me.
  12. I just had to check my girlfriend's stacks of dvd's, but she didn't have Ice Age with Norwegian dubs. - Norwegian version of the Ice Age 3 trailer. I have to say, he sounds a lot like the comedian who played the hunter in Trolljegeren. *checks IMDB.. Oh they are the same. Figures.
  13. Yes, I agree. Not by much though. I bet they both could do pretty true imitations of each other.
  14. I thought that was hilarious. He's so out of it from getting kicked in the head that he just laughs because other people are laughing. Great find Ross.
  15. Let's see now. In addition to Freeman's Mind listened to Barney's, Shepard's and Chell's mind. I think I liked Shepard's mind the least because it seemed most out of character. It tries to be Freeman's mind a little bit too much, physics jokes included. But kudos for sticking to that many episodes. Barney's Mind is a little better since it does have try to be Barney a lot more. I think both minds are a little meek on the comedy, sometimes pushing the Freeman's Mind angle a little too hard. But they're good entertainment nonetheless. I watched them both while waiting at airports. Chell's mind is different, first and foremost because Chell has no depth of character, period. That means that literally *any* take would have been plausible. CyhAnide's choice to make her just as mentally unstable as GLADOS was a good one. The only reason why I like it a little bit less than Freeman's Mind is the pacing of the dialogue. It almost turns to stream of conciousness narration at times and gets a little difficult to pay attention to. Yet it's also that same pacing that makes it sounds so lovingly deranged. It can't really be compared to any of the Black Mesa Minds, so I vote it a close second to the original Freeman's Mind.
  16. Ah, so that's where those strange screenshots I sometimes find come from. I had no idea. I'd rather see the series continue with the original visuals (with the exception of what is included through HL:Source, since it's minor). You see, some portion of what makes me love Freeman's Mind has nothing to do with what Ross Scott is doing. It's just pure nostalgia. Like many here I probably spend months, if not years fighting my way through Black Mesa. It's just good to see that old game again. For that purpose alone I couldn't wish for a better walkthrough video. If visual modifications like Black Mesa or this mod were to be included it would only deminish that nostalgic value.
  17. Well, we are seeing this from Freeman's perspective in that he knows less about the game than us and doesn't see situations like that coming. He's probably going to be pretty pissed by the time he wakes up. If you think about it, he has been pretty invincible up until now. Getting beaten up for once will probably not leave him unphased. That's good though, because by then he must realize how he can't save all those goodies for a rainy day. With any luck he'll be more inclined to play around with what he finds.
  18. Really? I live in Oslo. I'm not Norwegian though, I moved here from Holland about a year and a half ago. I seem to spot Norwegians on the Internet all the time these days. Very curious. Anyway, yes let's get back to topic.
  19. Manny! I was thinking of other things where I might have seen Romano, but I couldn't come up with anything. Yeah, I agree with you on the casting there. Not the best, but I suppose they could've done worse. It's strange though that his type of voice is more suited to Gordon Freeman than Manny Mammoth. I mean they both kick ass and stuff but.. well I guess it's the lack spitefulness in Manny. Yes, Raymond can actually freak out quite a bit just like Freeman, whereas Manny is mostly concerned with not having any situation escalate. It just doesn't suit that voice. Everybody Loves Freeman! Oh, maybe that will be the next mystery episode.
  20. The Marco Polo bit, with Freeman not realizing the other guy is dead at the last Polo. Ambassador Pineapple was pretty good too.
  21. Ah, that's great actually. I never saw too much of it at the time (except later, in reruns), so I'm surprised I remember much of the show at all.
  22. So.. I found out about the Freeman's Mind episodes a couple weeks ago and had a lot of fun watching it not just because of Ross Scott's comedy genius, but also because I kept picturing a certain character with a similar voice. The actor, actually, I was thinking of was Raymond from Everybody Loves Raymond. Ha. Did anyone else got that weird feeling of recognition upon first hearing Ross's voice? It might just be my own freakish little mind that somehow ended up associating these two things together.. but, well there you have it. Ross, has anyone ever mentioned you sound a lot like.. whathisname.. 'Ray Romano'?
