Truth be told, it wasn't that hard to spot. I would have never seen it on the Youtube version though, that one is much darker than the original.

Going back to Oslo today. I think we might just make the candlelight vigil around nine, provided we can stash our suitcase somewhere.

Particle Bat is a particle.

I noticed certain subforums are a lot quieter.

Particle Bat gets 284 hits on Google and is therefore real.

I have never actually looked up a play-through on youtube. Might be interesting?

Games that got much better playing them?

Lemmings. I found out that I am getting much further with it at the age of 30 than I ever did at when I was 12. http://www.elizium.nu/scripts/lemmings/ -
Particle Bat is wholly quantum entangled with another Particle Bat in an attic somewhere in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

I don't think he had a name. -
Yes, I heard that too. I didn't hear it though until a second re-play.

Old games to play with a shitty video card (GeForce 7200GS)

People forget how well Half Life 2 runs on lower systems. It's part of the reason why it was such an attractive game back in 2004 or so. Everything from Episode 2 and onward might chug a bit though. I am actually running this and other things on an even older, less powerful laptop than yours. I have customized the laptop and the copy of windows that runs it. It's really nothing like it was when I first got it. You'll be surprised how much you can pull out of it without even resorting to overclocking. Find yourself some guides on the internet. Don't be afraid of tweaking thingss in the Windows Registry or services.msc in particular, you can always create backups. As for the games I have installed: Halflife 1 & 2 Deus Ex Morrowind (if you liked Oblivion) Battlezone 2 Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2 Guild Wars Neverwinter Nights Diamond Edition. The Longest Journey & Dreamfall Vampire the masquerade: Redemption (I reason to believe its spiritual successor VtM:Bloodlines will run less than HL2 despite it having the same game engine, due to its poorly constructed Python shell that is supposed to handle scripting. If HL2 has no framerate issues on your (hopefully tweaked) system, give it a go.) Jade Empire I disabled Specular and HDR Lightening, and enabled simple shadows where I could. I can recommend the Baldur's Gate series as well. It's not really a 3d game at all, but the artwork and sprites it used were still the best / end of an age. If you're into (much) slower gameplay, good story telling and a lot of deathly themes, I can recommend Planescape: Torment as well. There are probably more interesting things out there still. I'm just a bit limited by my HD space. -
It really depends on the program you're using. I remember Cakewalk Studio (5, I think) tended to re-encode everything every time you exported something containing one or more original tracks that were already encoded, resulting in minor quality loss every time you saved the entire project into a single file. But it wasn't much of an issue for me, since I only had to deal with 10-12 tracks of raw wav and professional midi output. Only used it for video a couple of times, wedding footage and such. It wasn't a problem. The right answer is probably 'no preference', but if you aren't sure about your software I'd go for a raw, unencoded format. Processing speed or file volume aren't really an issue anymore in this day and age anyhow. No quality loss, that's what you'll want. You can always encode properly afterward.

Crikey, it could be one of them particle bats.

First dive, Gordon thinks he's going to die. Then he looks around, complains and jumps in the water again to go with the flow. He dives and comes up again in the following room. Before he gets out of the water, he looks to the left and there is something.. flying (for the lack of a better word) above the other edge of the basin he is in. I saw it around 2:07, in the downloaded version. The bat he thinks he hears later? Would be a cool easter egg if the bat was real. I don't recall seeing anything flying like that before in Half Life.

Listening to . And now I am getting up to put in Mogwai's Mr Beast instead.

Seemed a little too dark in places. Did Machinima stop brightening them?

I still remember my reaction to the Gonarch. Something along the lines of "if that's a head crab, I want to see the zombie that goes with it." I was expecting something huge. I wasn't entirely disappointed.

The pathetic situation in Vancouver

Police brutality was an issue a while back in Vancouver. I remember reading about it maybe 2-3 years ago. -
I would sit and stay where I am, because I moved to Norway. What would you do if you heard a good gossip about me?
