What does that even mean?

No thanks. I'm still holding out Rise of the Machines of the Planet of the Apes.

Twilight is a bunch of crap, but True Blood is pretty okay. I watch it together with the misses a lot. Tend to get inspired afterward.

Norwegian bread with Dutch cheese on it. Older cheese than anything you can get out here.

System Shock 2 (and maybe System Shock 1)
Bugthing replied to Lord Sinister's topic in Gaming in general
I seem to recall that SS2's release was, at the time, overshadowed by some other games. Probably Half Life. I don't remember much about SS1's release, I was like 13 when it was released. But I did got to play it eventually. I much prefered the FPS combat to other FPS's of the time. The mouse wouldn't turn or move the screen, but you could still take aim with it from any angle. Sort of like playing duck hunt. -
It could be a quarter. There's no sense of scale to it.

System Shock 2 (and maybe System Shock 1)

Last few times I tried to run it, it ran too fast in areas with low poly count. Unrelated, but 'A Hacker's Mind' could work. There's lots of weird crap in the System Shock games. Brownie points if it gets to be the first game. -
Heh, that's been around a while. It must be getting quite interesting now though. A year or so ago I read about plans to send this sort of technology to the moon and such to prefabricate structures for us. They were investigating a kind of cement that can be easily made from moon surface soil.

I'll try to think in terms of skills rather than professions. Fun thing is that I am a music producer too. I suck at sports or anything competitive. In fact, I probably won't enjoy anything unless I can take my time for it. I can woodwork and weld a bit, your basic arts and crafts. I'm not terribly good at it, but I do think I am unusually creative when it comes to putting things together. A good spatial/visual thinker or something like that. Finding clever ways to fix problems. I couldn't take an engine apart and piece it together afterward, but I have a good idea of how things work. Give me enough time and I think I can make a 2 piston engine from scratch. Or a chemical water filter. It's all crazy simple to me. I made a few trinkets in my spare time, usually to fix computer hardware problems or everyday something-broke-in-the-kitchen sort of issues. I did have plans to work on an electric engine or dynamo (the latter is cooler, since there are waterfalls and shit out here), but I haven't gotten around to making it from scratch yet. Free power! So.. that's it I think anyway. I'm just a creative little practical quirky dude.

Trying to wake up. Slept about 10 hours last night. Didn't get much sleep the night before.

Or French stuff like Les Triplets de Belville. There more to the western world than Disney. Does puppet animation count? I love the Norwegian one where they race cars.

There is a difference in those comparison screenshot, but I don't really see it all zoomed out.

System Shock 2 (and maybe System Shock 1)

Yup, played them both. SS1 has been a while, but a couple years ago I replayed SS2 because someone made a texture and model replacer. Gotta love Shodan. -
As a verb, right? Of course there is art IN games, but that's not the same thing as gaming. Walking around in a museum isn't art, so hobby works for fine me. But in the same way that some arts are martial, I acknowledge that there must be games out there that require so much experience and precision to handle that the ability alone to play them might be considered an art. I just haven't encountered one yet.

I would actually give it a 4 personally... What themes did it copy exactly? Tomb Raider ring a bell? The girl. In the end, particularly. The hair, the sunglasses, the pouty lips. I was reminded a lot of other, post apocalyptic movies. The way many of them seem to favour punk-ish bands of bandits on motorbikes and such.

It's not dead as long as we keep it alive in our memories! Good point. Kewpie doll for the next person to spot one.
