I'm hoping he gets his memory back soon...
sullygass95 replied to TurdFetus's topic in Freeman's Mind
I'll admit the memory thing got dull after a little while, but Jesu- I mean Mr. Scott is still making new jokes. I'm not so much disappointed with the reaction, they're great, as I am with the reflections or lack of in some cases. I thinks the episodes are still pretty good, I just really want him to start pumping out more Freeman's Mind now that he is out of this four month DEAD period. (I know he was working on CP and other issues, but that doesn't make the time between episodes go by faster) My point is, I'd mean the world if I could wake up tomorrow and see a progress bar with episode 41 and the filming and maybe part of the editing or dialogue done. -
The problem with machinima is that cannot grasp the magnitude of the FM fanbase and how much we HATE machinima for taking so long to upload one of their better series. They should create a priority system where the videos with the largest amount of views get uploaded before all the damn COD videos.
-
The new episode should be out any day now, Jesu- I mean Mr. Scott just has the final editing left and then uploading it to machinima, who should put it on youtube by this coming weekend. I hope.
-
Who is this lazy sound editing guy? Otto? He certainly isn't as hard working as Jesu- I mean Mr. Scott.
-
Do you think you'll have it done by the end of New Years? When does machinima start accepting video uploads again?
-
Not to add pressure, but how far along are you in episode 40 since two weeks ago?
-
It was sent to Otto about a week and a half ago, he'll be working on the sound editing while I'll be working on Episode 40. Cool, can't wait to see it on youtube. I've never actually beat Half-Life myself so I'm almost as excited to see what situation Freeman is in as I am to see his reactions to them.

Awesome I'd like to see the winner's editing job, and I'm glad you're transitioning to MKV I like higher quality anyway. BTW, has FM Episode 39 been uploaded yet or are you still editing it?

Progress being made on FREEMAN'S MIND: EPISODE 39
sullygass95 replied to scott155's topic in Freeman's Mind
Not that I'm not grateful for any kind of progress, but why is the very beginning of the dialogue still not done? I would have thought Mr. Scott would get that done first. -
Yes, it's been fixed. I spent 4 hours today replying to emails and yesterday I spent the bulk of my time arranging all the files for the sound contest, I work on lots of different things. After going through a lot of the emails I'm thinking I should step up my efforts on getting the t-shirts moving in the nearer future. Sorry, meant no disrespect. I'm definitely looking forward to the T-Shirts, while I can imagine FM ones would be the most popular I think Dave from CP should at least have one of his lines made into a T-Shirt.

Another computer meltdown + lots of updates
sullygass95 replied to Ross Scott's topic in General News
And if you had been screwing around instead of working on the videos, that would have been ok too. All of this (the videos, main site, forums) you do using your personal time, out of your own pocket, and for free. People should say "thank you", and go about their business (and, God forbid, maybe donate a couple of bucks for the cause, you freaking leeches!). I agree that Mr. Scott is under appreciated for how hard he works, but do you really think he doesn't make anything off those videos? Even the ones that were relaesed in the past few months have over a 100,000 views and all the videos have advirtisements so that means Machinima is making money off the videos and if they are than I'm sure Mr. Scott is too. I doubt they expect videos that excellent and popular to be given to them for free. -
This sounds pretty cool, but wait did he fix his computer? How come he hasn't made progress on Freeman's Mind Episode 39?

I'm a Leo and I think Freeman fits that sign in a lot of ways too. Personality: -Confident -Ambitious -Generous -Pretentious -Domineering -Vain -Stubborn Temperment: Very independent but likes being in control of others. Needs people to appreciate his worth. Very vain and proud so one would not take kindly to insults. Very persistent and can continue arduous tasks for long periods of time through one's extrordinary will power. Does well in buisness if in command and control. Can shake off terrifying events that would greatly horrify others. Known to pounce if pushed to far over the edge, (of sanity). Okay, so Freeman isn't exactly generous but other than that Leo fits the bill rather nicely.

Freeman's Mind Episode 38 getting it's ass kicked by Windows
sullygass95 replied to Pinkie Pie's topic in Freeman's Mind
Not quite. I had Vista for a year before upgrading to 7 and it wasn't terrible, but I'm much happier with 7 over Vista, which didn't let some of my programs run as efficiently. -
Freeman's Mind Episode 38 getting it's ass kicked by Windows
sullygass95 replied to Pinkie Pie's topic in Freeman's Mind
Unfortunately I don't have that many programs on my computer and the ones I do have, had updated versions that I got easily once I installed 7 which was also a fairly quick process. I was also upgrading from XP, but since my laptop doesn't have as much software, I never came across many obstacles so I'm afraid I'm not experienced with the kind of problems you're dealing with Ross to give you any advice on fixing them, hopefully others can, but if you could let us know how long they might take to get resolved at their current rate I'd greatly appreciate it. -
If you want to see a more current vid of what he looks like, check out the interview he did with some guy he posted on the sight a while back.
-
There is something there, you have a good eye to spot that by yourself, but I'm not sure that was a bat. We should probably ask Ross whether it was or not, since he's the one that said that before he went to sleep, he'd at least tell us why he said that.

Ross, please don't neglect Civil Protection...
sullygass95 replied to Michael Archer's topic in Civil Protection
I do think CP needs a new episode eventually, but I disagree with The Tunnel being worth the three years it took to make. The Tunnel was good but it was not worth three years of work by a long shot. Most of Ross's CP episode don't take a fraction as long as The Tunnel, and while The Tunnel was a very good CP episode, they don't need to be that complex if they're going to take three years to make. Now Ross had some problems with the animation and etc, so I know making an episode of similar caliber would not take nearly as long, but seeing as he has already begun brainstorming for the next episode, I'm hoping it won't take more than 9 months at the longest to make, because Freman's Mind can't be neglected either. -
This was a great episode, the last few weren't terrible, but there is only so much you can do with wandering around opening doors and what not, but this one was funnier and more exciting. I especially loved when he remembered how the aliens got there, though he hasn't mentioned the military at all, so I don't think he has remembered everything. Go ahead and slow down the pace Ross, I'll be sad cause I enjoy them so much, but I can wait for one every month or so, and I guess CP does need a little progress.
-
Yeah that's true, but the fact that he can still remember vague things like, "I seem to remember alot of gunfire yesterday", or, "I feel like this isn't the first time I've handled a gun", makes it frustrating that he can't remember anything else. Ok, maybe it's not completely realistic, but neither is Half Life, and remembering it all at once would allow Freeman to have a stronger (and probably funnier) reaction, which I haven't really seen since he got the amnesia.
-
I agree that it would have been pretty funny for him to say something about how was scientist had been really worried about a Resonate's Cascade and that he was paranoid to think that something so absurd could happen but Ross would probably see that as breaking the fourth wall or something. Though I personally think the amnesia is already starting to get old, having been in the past two episodes. I don't really like how slow and gradual Freeman is remembering what happened. Usually when people get amnesia something they do or see will remind them of what they forgot and trigger an instant recall of all of it. That would be better just because it could give Freeman a chance to react more strongly to something which I haven't really seen in the past two episodes. Freeman is lucky he's remembering at all. I think it'd be pretty hard to permanetly forget a Resonates Cascade, Giant Tentacle Alien, Giant Flamethrower Alien, Giant Shark Alien, Launching A Missile, and Being Wanted By Military!!! That's not the kind of thing one can forget easily, even with temporary amnesia.
-
That would be great but at the rate he's remembering things, I'm worried that Ross will just decide to have Freeman gradually remember all of it over the next three or four episodes, which will prevent him from having a huge freak out reaction to it all coming back at once. Freeman should just say in the next episode something like: "Yeah, I should probably get back to the lab and ask some of the guys if they know what's going on- Wait a sec, the lab? Oh F***, that experiment went wrong!!! All the aliens are coming in cause of that stupid experiment. And the military were the ones that put me in that compacter, those BASTARDS stole all my guns!!!", you get the idea, but instead of that Ross will probably just have Freeman slowly remember all of it, and not in one big recall, you know the way most people recover from amnesia in REAL LIFE.

The Tunnels Pt. 2 "Was It just a Dream?"
sullygass95 replied to devilk870's topic in Civil Protection
I really hope it wasn't a dream. I agree that there is a chance that is what happened, but I'd hope for something better in the sequel. And YES, there should be a sequel, I don't really mind the fact that Dave and Mike seemed like they were about to die in the last scene since that happens alot. I think there must be a sequel because Ross simply left too many things open ended at the end of that episode, and we need an explanation. Also since it will continue the story, Ross should think of some way for Dave and Mike to survive that attack from the weird crabs. -
While it's safe to say the idea of Freeman getting amnesia is clever and makes for an intersting plot device, I hope he recalls everything that happened soon, just because I think it caused him to be a little to mellow in this episode. What are your thoughts about Gordon forgetting everytihng that happened to him in the past 24 - 36 hours?
