  1. wut. wut is this? wut is this? Instead of pouring money into the crate-smashing room, Black Mesa will fund Freeman's Mind projects.
  2. If Ross got permission from Valve before he did this, and Gabe Newell knew how much publicity Freeman's Mind has (and could potentially gain from a DVD sale), I'm sure they could strike a deal of some sort just like with GMod...
  3. Actually Ross' Freeman still has a PhD in physics, but in his case it is dubious how he got it. Well, he can (supposedly) recite the quantum chromodynamic Lagrangian in his sleep. He also mentions graduating from MIT and how he detests people with "online degrees". I think he's smart. I also believe that he's an idiot savant in some regards.
  4. How did Gordon learn so many languages? I thought his Ph.D was in Physics. Did he quadruple-major in Spanish, Creole, German, and Hindi while he was in college?
  5. I had to. I'm sorry, I just had to when you said "Valve Time". Machinima is unfortunately a necessary evil. The amount of time and effort (and money) that Ross puts into the episodes dictates the need for a host that provides revenue. The end result is that Machinima, being a business, will push mainstream content that's more likely to make money. I wouldn't be surprised if it had close ties to some big-shot video game publishers.
  6. I would think that, if Ross was working on Civil Protection, that he wouldn't make a secret out of it. And looking at the old progress bar for "The Tunnel", I think a lot more work goes into CP than FM. I'm expecting something based on the FM format.
  7. Somehow I knew that Freeman would try to find a way to bypass the piston section. He might have done some crazy things in his life, but I don't think he's willing to take flying leaps between grinding pistons and risk being grinded into mincemeat a'la Physicist. I'm curious to see how he'll deal with the cold room and the Black Ops.
  8. I have a feeling he might ignore the Gluon Gun entirely. After all, there are a few weapons that he has skipped or not used since the series began (e.g. the revolver, and apart from one occasion, the grenade attachment on the MP5), and it's not necessary to pick up the Gluon Gun in order to finish the game.
  9. Or maybe this is STILL a video game universe and the beggining of ep. 11 is how someone feels after respawning...as if he had just eaten a spoiled bag of Doritos and the fact that he had just eaten one was just a big coincidence. OR maybe eating out of the Doritos bag thrust Gordon through a transdimensional rip into such an alternate universe where he is immortal and can no longer die. It's in keeping with the previous canon in the series so far; Gordon was shot in the ear and was bleeding from it, but now whenever he is shot he does not take any damage. Of course, our protagonist is blissfully unaware of this in his high/inebriated/insane state... ... Yeah, we probably ought to spare Freeman's Mind all the bizarre plot twists for comic books or George Lucas movies.
  10. "I'm on your side, you fucking idiots! How many of you do I have to kill in order before you understand that?" Also, any moment where Freeman flips out tends to make me laugh, especially Episode 8 when he tries to open a door into another part of the office and smashes the glass window in rage. "I WANT TO SMASH THE WHOLE THING DOWN!!!"
  11. That took place in Episode 10.5, which as we know is not "canon" with regards to the events in the video taking place at all. However, I see your point.
  12. First attempt at this. Hope it's up to par.
  13. So far Gordon Freeman, at least in the context of the character given to him in Freeman's Mind, has been acting fairly naturally with regards to his personality and the situation. In the end, he is still concerned about getting home, getting sleep, getting to the clubs, etc., above everything else. He doesn't realize what we already know: the scope of the alien invasion is not limited solely to Black Mesa and will soon come to encompass the entire Earth. Also, from his perspective, the situation and the mission objectives really are not that obstructive to his goal of trying to get out of Black Mesa. I do agree that his reaction to launching the satellite rocket was a bit too low-key, that he should perhaps have been a bit more freaked out over it. I attribute the episode more to the possibility that Ross Scott was rather fatigued at that point in the story. You might find that, when Gordon reaches the Lambda Complex, he'll realize that he is being forced to do the scientists' bidding, and thus will begrudgingly do their dirty work, but in the end he'll still be worried (and possibly overtired) about getting home. He may reiterate this when the scientists are yapping to him about the survey team, Xen, and the long jump module - "yeah sure listen where's my ride home Einstein? I have a date with a mattress and a six-pack" I'm expecting the most dramatic reactions when he reaches the teleporter labs, and further when he finally reaches Xen. In fact, I'm expecting him to be completely silent for the first fifty seconds that he's on Xen (rather uncharacteristic of the series) as his enfeebled, sleep-deprived mind tries to make sense of what the hell is really going on. And, of course, he'll make it very, very clear that the Gonarch is a spider with a giant testicle for a body.
