hy doses freeman mind take forever to come out on youtube?
Song replied to Maxbun's topic in Freeman's Mind
Your are right that views count. But Freeman's Mind isn't that bad. It isn't one of the best of machinimas, but it has far more views then most videos they upload. Still, maybe Ross could rearrange his contract with machinima to include something like: 'If a new FM episode is in machinimas care, it will be uploaded every [your preferred weekday].' That wouldn't put pressure on Ross and we could get it on a regular basis if he is fast enough. -
And there is also evidence against it. But that doesn't matter to us. Noone of us will ever change their mind. We all think only we know the truth and everyone else who are not on the same 'side' as we are either idiots or simply wrong and have to be convinced of our truth. I hate those discussion, they are always the same: 'I see it like this.' 'But you are wrong, it is like this.' 'No it is like this, idiot.' 'No it is like this, double idiot.' 'No it is like this, triple idiot.' And it always goes on and on and on until a moderator closes the thread because we long forgot to add arguments to our comments and instead gone on throwing around indirect insults as a defensive attack because we feel threatened by someone who just seems too different from us... In the end, the truth is probably somewhere in between, but accepting that both 'sides' could be equally right as they could be wrong, that is sadly near impossible...

I don't believe in global warming, that is all I can do. I don't know if it is true or not, there are so many pro and contra arguments, so many lies, halftruths and truths, that in the end, you can only believe what you think is right. And well, for me global climate change (as it is called nowdays because global warming isn't really happening) is a convenient mean to control people and transfer wealth from the already poor to the already rich. Kinda like the sale of indulgences (don't really know what it is called in english) which the catholic church did some while ago. And if you didn't do to it, you will burn in hell for all eternity, today your children will burn on earth, kinda the same in the end. The same applied to the global cooling before the global warming, so it is not really a new thing.

I would like him to stay with HL:S. I think Black Mesa is far to different from the 'normal' Half Life and a change mid-series would be too strange for my taste. A new series with Black Mesa would be awesome though, maybe with a different Gordon then?

Well, in black mesa you don't need an earthquake, as we know from the level design, the whole facility is more of a hazard course in itself. Ladders that are only reachable through the broken elevator. Pits full of green 'I-don't-even-want-to-know-what-that-is'-Stuff. Plastic catwalks all over the place. Or thousands of big red buttons which help you get on with your destined path but also could easily kill you one way or another if you're not fast enough. And don't forget the mounted turretguns, those were useful too. I guess Black Mesa and Aperture Science learnt it both from the same book huh.

Out of pure boredom I just tried to watch a few machinima videos. Now I feel tainted and somehow more stupid then I already am... Still bored though, maybe I should play some CoD. -
I subscribed to Machinimas Channel for something totally different, some show about a zombie apocalypse and nerds or something. That was some months ago, I unsubscribed a few days later because Machinima was uploading too many videos outside of my taste and I didn't want my feed spamed by them. Found FM in their playlists though and totally forgot about the other show until now.

So far I watched Shepard's, Barney's, Felix's and Chell's Mind. I enjoyed all, they all have their very own charm and humour with good and bad episodes here and there. But none of them gets close to the brilliance of the original Freeman's Mind. I don't know why that is, they all had good ideas and sometimes even gone further then the game itself allowed, but still.. something was always missing... Maybe because Freeman's Mind was the first of its kind, I don't know.

Double posting is only a dream. It doesn't exist! The world is far to cruel to ever produce such wonders. Don't ever endulge in such imaginations, stay realistic and hopeful, the enemy will only use it against you, confusing you to open your mind even further for their creeping darkness, so evil that none should speak about. But behold! As the green prophecies of the open man told us so long ago, someday a beautiful and just episode will come forth from the heavens, will pass through hells channel to clean it from it sins, will wander with mercy over the fields of the fallen and lost souls to give them a new meaning and finally... will reach our last, small outpost of humanity... Soon it will arrive... just a little.. little longer... Ahh... I think I should go to bed. -
Well, as I see it, in short Ross pictures Freeman as a mad 'evil' (a too strong word though) scientist. His complete care-free, idiotic/mad behaviour is what gives this series its humour & charm. And the selfish and lazy (he is only forced to do all this work) attitude towards pretty much everything fits into the 'WTF, I just want to get out of here!'. He also doesn't stop to think what he is actually doing, like with the rocket lunch or the killing of the tentacle thing. He just pushes unlabeled, red shiny buttons (who wouldn't hit these?), which he just stumbles upon while searching for a way out, but in the end nearly always do something useful. So far he doesn't know that the resonance cascade would have such tragic consequences outside of black mesa. If he would, he might get serious... or ditch them all at first chance hoping that the stripclub might still be open before it gets destroyed in the war. Of course the exit door is locked as usual and the only way out for him would be through the teleporter because he prefers to move forward and which he doesn't know leads to xen because he wasn't listening while subtly trying to find a way out. So yeah, I hope he will still be the same despicable hilarious scientist in HL2. Of course only if Ross does it.

Thank you for still working on it after all this time! I found it a more then year ago and just love it. Always wanted to replay Half Life, but why do it yourself if someone does it in a funnier way? Nevertheless, the only thing I don't like about this episode is, that it is just too short! Still, the whole 'F*CK YOU, FISH!' scene made it one of the best so far.

You could give donator the chance to voice something. An scientists/guard or a an alien Freeman is talking to after finally finding some usable drugs (which are labeled wrong though), something like that.
