Yes and not a discussion about how intelligent animals actually are. Such debates are always highly biased by the need to be better then others.

Unfortunately, they are so heavy they always fall off.

Unfortunately I only know the nutcracker kick.

Unfortunately I think I now have to punch you, sorry.

Unfortunately the publisher doesn't care much as long as they can milk us good enough and will continue to develop even more crap of the same crap.

Unfortunately marketing is so effective in suggesting to buy it that everyone still will buy the crap.

I finally found a english version of what I would like to have. There you go: http://falkj.info/FJO_s_cu_b124.htm I think it might be not easy to understand without the whole 'story' of it though. So if you are interested in a possible utopia, you could read the whole book front to back online here: http://falkj.info/FJO_s_cu.htm

The only thing I didn't like was the reaction when he remembered everything again. It kinda sounded like a bad comedy, it was kinda forced humor. Overall it was a good episode though.

Maybe because it doesn't matter where you are born, you will still be only human. -
Utopia? Perpetual mobile? What would you call it?

Fortunately the laws of the universe demand one earth to be present at all times and simply pops a new one out of nothingness.

Evolution vs. Creation being taught in schools
Song replied to BTGBullseye's topic in Serious Topic Discussion
This is exactly why I propose the subject of philosophy (Inspiring people to decide for themselves instead of being inclined) to be tought mandatory and since grade 6. And almost the same as what I suggested. The Evolutionists are the only ones that seem to want to force a belief on us. Sorry, must have missed it. Maybe I should go to bed huh... -
Well there are many theories why greece is broke but the greece people being lazy is by most not accepted and only advertized as such to distract from the real reason which are only half the people and another half the higher ups and one whole a flawed system to begin with. In fact, non of the western countries give or take much on laziness. Well, some possible theories in short: Corruption: Currently the whole country is slaughter into pieces and these chunks are sold to the highest bidder. It looks as if this was meant to happen. Degrading the EUR: The EUR has become a threat to the USD and might have someday replaced it as the worlds reserve currency. What better way to counter this by degrading the EUR overall? Western world bankruptcy: Most western countries are in countless debts which can never repayed anyway and the ones with the lower GDP are just the first to go. Well, just a few of them anyway...

Evolution vs. Creation being taught in schools
Song replied to BTGBullseye's topic in Serious Topic Discussion
Well instead of teaching any of those two, I think it would be better to teach them to be open for possibilities and to ask questions and/or be critical and/or to learn about both sides of a 'story' (there are always at least two) and not to accept anything blindly nor to defend anything ignorantly as it is so often done in nearly all areas of science, religions and idelogies. I think that would greatly increase the overall education, but alas... some would not like the people to think instead of swallowing it all whole, wouldn't they? -
What does it mean? Seriously though, what did he mean? I hope I didn't miss it as a reference to something. I think the eye patch was a reference to the pirrrate episode number... 27? Don't know about the midged though...

Unfortunately the nanites already consumed all the weapons because we took to long to decide which one to use.

I mostly like fantasy, some science fiction and a few romance stories. Most in german though, so I don't know the english titles for them. Some I remember though: 'The Dwarfes' quadrilogy by Markus Heitz (I think only the first book was translated into english?) 'The Black Magician' trilogy and 'Age of the Five' trilogy by Trudi Canavan 'Wheel of Time' series by Robert Jordan (?) 'A Song for Arbonne' by Guy Gavriel Kay 'The Han Solo Adventures' by Brian Daley Well, that are the ones I can remember english titles for anyway, probably forgot some though. The one series I 'read' most so far is Harry Potter. As audiobook though. Everytime I can't sleep or am out walking and not wanting to listen to cars or music (or other audiobooks) I continue where I left of. I think I must have listen to the complete series four times so far... I also liked Metro 2033 (the book and the game) because of the unusual scenario. But the book was horribly written in my opinion. Ah thank god, I didn't wanted to out myself, but I enjoyed the twilight series. It wasn't well written and in my opinion had a poor plot but it was readable nontheless.

What if the zombies managed to break it? How could they break into a stasi chamber five miles below ground with several thick steel entries lined throughout a whole mountain? Even if it is not like that, I doubt they can smell BRAAAIIIINNNZ through walls. Btw, did someone here read the comic 'Crossed'? Oh yeah, my zombie plan in different scenarios. I thought about it at lot after dreaming about a zombie apocalypse for a few times, which quite frighten me since I always died or woke up from all the WTF?!-adrenalin. 1. If I am stuck in the four story apartment building I live in: Rally all the occupants, divide them into teams. On team will get everything usuable from the cellar, especially bikes and everthing from the first floor, especially water, clothes and at last all the food. Another team will afterwards break down the second floor stairs, the first floor ones can't be destroyed. The rubble will thenn be used to block the main entrance (which is the only one). Another team will collect water into all of the apartments bathtubes and buckets. Then everything else usable too will be brought into the fourth floor apartments only or the huge collective attic we have. Another team will prepare rooms on the remaining floors for sleeping of at least three people a room. The attic will be used as common room. Well, entrances are through the attic since we can get from the ceiling windows there to the other buildings connected to ours and either forage them or if anyone still lives there, try to unite with them. 2. If I'm out hiking: Try to stay away from cities (obviously) and create spears and if I manage and have the time, bow and arrow. I know the theory for bows but never done it though. Well, then I will go on searching for a nice empty place or a haven, whatever will come first. Shelter I already have with me and water and food I will find on the way without a problem. If it is a fast zombie apocalypse I will just kill myself, there would be no point if you are alone with stuff on your back. 3. If it hits me while out in cities or working or whereever I am: Suicide, I hate running or being unprepared.

Well, if that is an honest answer then congratulations, you are a better person then me and ain't a hypocrite like the rest of us (give or take a few). -
I would be a nice suprise though. He could do it as a larger project like with the tunnel.

For me it is a bad thing. For once it can be used to opress oppositional opinions, ideas or believes (which it is done so far in all the current countries of this world, at least to my knowledge it is) and on another matter, throwing children into the world without any knowledge of what possible cruelty awaits them is very dangerous (not just for them). For example, someone who has never seen how utterly painful and appalling death can be, will hardly be of any help in whatever dangerous situation could arise. On the other hand, if for example you would let children watch porn, then we would also need to educate them about what happens there and not just let them watch it. So censoring it entirely towards children and educating them sometime later or letting them find out on their own is kinda the easier way out of this particular problem. I think I forgot something... I'm open for discussion though.

Out of curiosity, if someone would post evidence for intelligent design or some against the big bang and/or evolution, would you believe it anyway? Or wouldn't it be more likely that you might try to find errors in it no matter what because, like all of us, you would not want your own opinions, ideas or believes to wrong nor the opinions, ideas or believes of the 'other side' to be right? -

I can see what you mean, but for myself, I doubt that any of the commercialized sports like football, soccer, basketball, car races or whatever can still be considered art. On the other hand, noone should claim to know what art really is as it is a very subjective thing and everyone might see it differently.
