I think unless he is directly talking to someone, or in a situation where he would scream or yell or something like that (eg: falling off the conveyer belt into giant masher teeth) then he is thinking.

Maybe he will completely ignore the G-Man and walk into the portal without realising what he is doing. Or maybe he will trip into the portal, or something like that.

"... Maybe I should lay off the oxycodone..."

If there were a Half-Life film, Anthony Head should play the G-Man. Just look at Series 2 Doctor Who episode "School Reunion" to see what I mean.

The Nihilanth uses electricity as well, much larger blasts which are closer to the kind that he says would blow his head off like a pez container. The fight that he might choose at the end is after this, if he rejects the G-Mans offer, there is a room full of Alien Grunts, the bigger, armoured version of vorts that shoot bees instead of lightning.

Maybe he will get hit by the Nihilanth's lightning, and what he said about electricity back in Episode 22 will come true: "But if that hit me right now, the current would roll around in my body and exit through the top. My head would blow up like a baked potato wrapped in tinfoil. It would pop off like a Pez container." (on a related note, am I the only person who would love a Gordon Freeman Pez container?)

I would be REALLY annoyed, can't stand that sort of "It was all a dream thing." No idea how Freeman would respond.

Even so, it would be hard to miss the second Tau cannon right before the Xen teleport. In case you miss the Gluon Gun, Hive Hand, and Tau Cannon, there are extras in the ammo stash that gets pointed out to you just before the teleport.

I think they have already been taking a noticable toll on his mind. Sane people tend not to decide to kill absolutely everyone they meet just on the off chance that they are an enemy.

I can just imagine the G-Man walking around Black Mesa saying:

Well, he has lost his memory, and he is REALLY close to the Tau Cannon, so he probably will be a bit startled.

No, Machinima is worse then Black Mesa. Black Mesa provides you with dozens of locked doors, but at least you know where they are. Machinima provides you with locked, INVISIBLE doors that you have to wander around bumping into walls to find, and then try to unlock.

I'm thinking when he gets out of the trash compacter, he will have a few things to say about the dumbasses who put him in it.
