I think You may have misunderstood, I meant I think the ones i played are worse solely because they concentrate on the physics world, light shaders, pretty much the world is now a code. I really liked 2d Shading and lighting better to be honest.

You know, you sound very old. "Back in my day we didn't have all that 3DS Max Maya graphics. We had to look at hand painted artwork, and it was much better!" You know, people still paint and photograph textures and put a lot of work into 3D games. It's still art, just more hardware-intense than before. And if you look at games like Braid (which is VERY new), it's clear to see that the hand-painted style is still being used, it's not just some kind of dead fashion. And look at games like Dreamfall. Horrible gameplay but the game feels like an art book. All in all, it depends on which games you look at. I think it's unfair to make such a generalization. It's my opinion, not a generalization. If You watch cartoons it's the same thing, I don't like 3d Cartoon graphics compared to traditional cartoons. IMO the older cartoon graphics were much better (Disney stuff) than let's say... eh wth is there nowadays anyway? Anyways, I'm not hating on Maya or 3ds Max, I myself am a Gold Src Modder.. I'm saying that Today's games are actually hybrid, and I'm guessing that's why they look wrong, Make them either fully 3d or fully 2d. Because it looks a bit wrong with textures, but guys don't take this personal, only my opinion on an other wise forgotten topic.

Ever played Alone In The Dark? Myst? Now those were painted by proffesional artists single handedly, nowadays it's mostly Modellers who make the game world that's why often times the game lacks depth or real atmosphere, almost feels like plastic. That's why I say, that sometimes I think a lot of Dos Games beat some modern "Maya, 3ds MAx" Games graphics wise.

*Activating Flame Shield* I disagree, that can hardly be called a review. Things like getting an eargasm and having like the best sex in the world tell me nothing about the game. In fact the whole review told me nothing about the game, you can replace the whole review with: I liked it very much. Because that is basically all it is saying. Yeah, i haven't gotten a chance to play the game yet. So in my jealousy i am hating on people who do have played it I think You just want a spoiler not a review. For a review it's good, said the aproximate amount of gameplay, that there is no loose ends and the game clears up the story, the audio atmosphere is great and that there will be much harder challenges then Portal 1.

Well that's why I love PC's The SNES is the only console I know of actually coming close to PC in gaming but still DOS was more than games.. But then I always get annoyed that You can play for an hour reaching a level, then You die and You have to start over again..... TBH, not my favourite game, but still can be considered a classic. Civilization 1, 2, Alpha Centauri - The Classics of the Classics, Really what started the turn-based strategy games, control almost everything in your own nation or in a scenario and make history through the course of 5000 years with friends. The well known ridiculous AI of civilization 2 is the most talked about AI in the World I think. Mortal Kombat series - I wouldn't consider them classics but some people would, my main argument isn't because of the game, more because of the genre: It's a fighting Game, and i never really got into those. Besides this game really can get You mad when You lose against the cheap AI For Fans of Fighter Games this is recommended.

It just came to mind that some day in the future... The older guys will also remember their own old classic games, that is Halo series, Call Of Duty series, Battlefield series, Runescape, "Maple Story" how fun PS: I don't like any of those games (Ok, I have a soft spot for Battlefield)

I will try to describe each game a little, but try these excellent games: Alone in the dark 1, 2, 3. - Excellent Graphics Theme, (Because it's actual artists painting it not some Engine) Incredible Storyline, Horror-themed single player quest. My favourite horror game of all. . . Supaplex - Simply said, 110 (?) Levels of Fun with a Pacman look-alike, going through some incredible levels, both beautiful and challenging at times. Only the really determined ones can finish all levels. Usually people never beat 2-3.. Duke Nukem - If You never heard of it and You like Dos Games, shooting games or want to get into them, get it! Blood - Same as to Duke but this one has the funnest, coolest weapons and Character I've ever seen including A Trapped Soul and. . . A Voodoo Doll.. I know Goblins 1, 2, 3 - This, with AITD series was the other Great french Quest game made during the French Quest game era (Late 1980's to 2000), It's concentrated more on adults with the humour (Something for Ross Scott maybe). Think Your way through some funny adventures with three goblins. Blake Stone series - This one always get forgotten due to the company's apparently more known game Wolfenstein. Personally I prefer Blake Stone to Wolfenstein but oh well... If You played Wolfenstein You should enjoy this. By the way, who knew the classic company Apogee later changed their name to 3d Realms Dangerous Dave - Another classic...ehmm Quest? 2d Style Action? Just a game filled with horror-Humour? I'm not really sure, but it's similar to Duke 1, 2 if anyone played. Dave fights things in his way with a rifle. Actually very fun game, individually the series are a little short I prefer this one to Duke 2d series. Especially the deaths scenes and the jetpack cracks me up every time. Archon Ultra - Best Chess style Game You will ever play (Hint, it's not really chess, just play it!) There is tons more, I will ad more Dos games with time, and what about You, Dos people there?

Sadly, This one isn't sold in North America I believe but it is the 2nd most popular Strategy game after Starcraft (Based on Wikipedia). It used to be a great game, now it's a classic to play it over LAn with some people.. Features: 20 Nations, Up to 8000 Units, Huge battles, Lots of untis from the 17th to 18th century, great mods improving game and AI. One mod called Imperia adds the 19th century! Hmmm, I can see what You mean, I'm guessing the difference between let's say 100% Democracy-Capitalism and 100 % Democracy-Statism would be that in the first You would do it Yourself (Investing in Cure of Cancer), while in the second You would have to be a democratic majority (whatever law on voting everyone agrees to in the country) , for the government to invest in the Cure of Cancer. But, yes You are right, the economic theories can in fact, affect social life, my main point was that some of the guys here really took it to far with how much the word capitalism and statism means. The topic of economics is actually much more complex than just Capitalism and Statism though. In fact it really is too complex I believe, for a bunch of amateurs to debate it over. I am not a certified Economist, so my opinion mostly comes from seeing what the different types of governments achieved with both economic systems. My point is, discussing Economics on a forum is like discussing surgery on forums, it takes years of university education to get a job in the field and it is wrong trying to debate it unprofessionally.

But to challenge Your thinking, I believe it is as we are herbivores so technically we could also survive and live with nature by eating meat only once, twice a month... no need to eat a lot of meat :/ If memory serves, historical evidence suggests we and our ancestors have been omnivores for a pretty long time. However I cannot comment on the frequency of meat eating. This is where good research really is needed to further this point of discussion. We should probably all do some reading. Well, I could put it this way, why would you play Garry's Mod? Minecraft is very simply sandbox game world, where your purpose is simply to mine and build things. It's only limited as far as your imagination is concerned. As for using Valve's Hammer editor instead of Minecraft...they're not the same thing, I wouldn't compare them. Music creation for Minecraft is hardly a main part of the game, it's a side thing you can do where you have to build blocks that make notes. Again, you cannot really compare this to flstudio. Finally, Sim City is a top-down management game. Whilst you can shape the world around you, it's nothing like how things work in Minecraft. I cannot comment on Runescape as I have not played it, I only know it to be a top-down browser-based MMORPG. Does this help? Sorry, I reformed my question indeed.

This Topic is all about the schools of thought about Pop Culture So far mine is basically: "Pop culture and the mainstream has mostly harmed civilization in the way that commercializing products took over the world through commercials and capital promotion and not quality and that people are getting more and more dependent on these commercials, brands through the fact that they are dominating the places where we look for products such as the internet, TV, News...and block the products with less finances, in the process the ultimate result is that 1.good quality things which couldn't afford to get promoted get forgotten and lost, 2. companies which would've made quality now think of promotion and not quality 3. People being dependent on Commercials and tools to search for these commercials" I just formed that up and might change my view but this is nowadays definetly the hot topic of philosophy. So.... Type any problems, reasons or controversies of the topic that ever came to your mind or from personal experience. The topic ranges all the way from popularizing drugs through the music scene in the 1960's to the popular slogan nowadays in western countries of being to cool to go to school. The main questions in the school of thought are: Are people sheep in today's society? Did people stop thinking at some point because they want to live like everybody else? How much propaganda is there really out there? Are we aware of propaganda? If not, is there ways to resist it? Are the talented and fine arts suffering from commercialized and privatized arts? What is the future Pop Culture? Who is behind Pop Culture? My aim is really to get everyone here to share and gain knowledge to understand this topic better and to get people learn something by visiting this topic. I have to agree with Albert's main idea that the topic is f***** up. But even Albert is wrong because: Capitalism isn't a social theory, just an economic one, so it has nothing to do with the way people should live and apparently half the people here think that capitalism stands for Democracy and Statism for Dictatorship. Well I hate to break it to You but it's more like choosing between aluminium and steel if anything. Moving on to Social theories: Obama's policies are barely socialist, even I know that and I'm a Ukrainian. A Socialist government means You are protected by the state which is representing the people in certain situations. For example in Germany, You can't be fired untill You get 3 legit Warnings, approven by the government during a time span of 3 months I believe, and You will still have to be paid by the state for the time You are looknig for another job. In USA You can get fired on Your birthday for no reason... Basically the Socialist theory means that You are supported professionally by the people/state when You are in need and that You have to provide other people with help when in need. Anyway, why this topic fails: You people ever considered that while a small country might benefit from one economic theory, an empire might work worst with that same economic theory???? It should be pretty obvious...common, think a little, and then ask more specific questions, like what would be a better economic system in the USA for example. If I don't get a progressive smarter response I won't even post anything more here.

That depends on your philosophy. The question You posted is pretty self-explanatory but just for laughs and conversation Here's the four main ideas: 1. If You are monotheist/polytheist then the answer is in the books... 2. If You are humanist then You would look past the emotions and think for the benefit of humans, You would get as much food as there is demand by distributing it throughout the world with companies. You wouldn't care how. 3. If You believe in the equality of animals and humans then You would be a vegetarian and treat animals as humans. 4. Lastly, similar but not identical to Humanists, there is "natural people", who believe in mother nature and that we should eat just like any other herbivore out there by hunting individually when needed.

Counter Strike IMO, is a game that is average for just fooling around, great for competitive playing (Except the hackers), Even Greater when played with friends. Pod-Bot days were the best. Here's the Top 10 Reasons 1.6 sucks for those who never played the earlier versions: 1. The first version of cs that got flooded by hackers 2. Lame and Unbalanced Shield 3. Z-Bot is shit compared to Pod Bot. 4. cs_arabstreets, De_Vegas, de_vertigo, cs_Backalley, es maps...etc Due to removal of these nostalgic atmospheric and classic maps for some unknown reason servers forgot about them and everybody mainly plays dust 2 or aztec: 5. Scout fans are dissapointed as the weapon is now slower and mostly useless. 6. Skins of the players and weapons are arguably more prefered from cs 1.5. 7. No Training course (It's sort of fun to shoot those targets, especially when they shoot back, right guys XDDDD) 8. Jumping feels like You are too heavy. 9. Steam 10. In Cs_Assault the secret window in the skyscraper with the aliens is removed (Duke Nukem Style)

I'm a Ukrainian who knows Russian, Ukrainian, German, French as well as english and I can tell You it wasn't any of these languages... or anything close to them in dialect. It sounds like a real language though, reminds me of Klingon... hehe Anyway You can cross those I mentioned of the list

One thing that all of them have, they are not reflected on enough and it seems to me like the authors rushed the episodes, like their motto was to upload the episodes before someone else does.... 2.
