  1. Ah, crap the key word is deity and deities. Well what the hell is the term for people believing in no deities
  2. I disagree. Atheism = A = No, Theism = Deity So atheism = Belief in no deity, and agnosticism can be a religious position. Agnosticism is the view that the truth value of certain claims—especially claims about the existence or non-existence of any deity, but also other religious and metaphysical claims—is unknown or unknowable
  3. So, as I understand it noone is voting anymore even as I tried to promote this thread. The results are a minority win in the yes. And a close second at I don't care. 2 people are strictly against it. I see this as enough to follow to the procedure. Can we start?
  4. @Genaux Damn I forgot I said that I was out in this topic Anyway, so far I agree with Danielsango, even more, I say, we are animals too.
  5. A lack of belief is a lack of belief, atheism specifically is a belief, if you lack a belief then you are an agnostic or you just don't position yourself at all. Atheism is a belief that there are no deities. And that is absolute.
  6. That was.... a fast rush
  7. What do you think of this:
  8. Yes, so far I think that there is no ultimate goal in life. You live. But that is a pretty pathetic thought as I am not smart enough to know that and the chances of that being true are just as high as anything else. The betterment of our species seems quite frankly as just another religious type of belief to me. Just something to give you meaning as the atheists say. Great. What's wrong with "meaning"? Goals are something we humans made up, so why can't goals be what we want them to be? I'm not going to be religious for the sake of "not knowing the truth". I'm also not going to "believe in a higher power" simply because it would give me comfort against my complete lack of knowledge. So, I'm going to focus on what I know and CAN know. I'm going to ride that rollercoaster. I'm going to fly on that plane. I'm going to get involved in sociopolitical and religious discussions against idiots on the Internet. I'm going to possibly help subtitle Freeman's Mind episodes! I'm going to watch videos on Accursed Farms! I'm going to play the Black Mesa mod when it comes out! I'm going to get a job in computer animation! When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade. Make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons! What am I supposed to do with these?! Demand to see life's manager! Make life rue the day it thought it could give ME lemons! Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! With the lemons! I'm gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down! .....oh, wait. Sorry. Well, I remember I came to the conclusion that there is no purpose in life a long time ago, and we create it (Even with a deity, there is no purpose in life). But this just proves that evolutionists create their own human made common goal, "the betterment of our species" just as the other religions and aren't any more right in that way. The second part of your post was pretty much use the freedom of life to the fullest. With some rants which I don't care about. Life seems to be a prison cell where you can do very little things compared to what you know, exists, and what can be done if you were outside that prison cell. Enjoy the prison cell then. As for atheism being philosophically redundant, atheism is just as valid a belief as monotheism and polytheism with non religious monotheism being a little more popular along the philosophers. And stop acting ridiculuous, noone tries to convert you to religion so you have some weird issues there constantly pushing it away.
  9. Hey, if we don't say how we really feel we will not get anywhere, I liked your post for that. I encourage everyone to tell their true feelings.
  10. I mean quite frankly for me perfect would be if I was born 2000 years ago in the greek city of Athens. I would enjoy that life very much. Drink wine with Aristotle, discuss the world, help fellow athenians... enjoy clean air, natural sights as well as marvelous artistic structures. Otherwise being a deity would be perfect.
  11. Sounds about right to me, do you have a different opinion? Yes, so far I think that there is no ultimate goal in life. You live. But that is a pretty pathetic thought as I am not smart enough to know that and the chances of that being true are just as high as anything else. The betterment of our species seems quite frankly as just another religious type of belief to me. Just something to give you meaning as the atheists say.
  12. Wow I didn't know someone was already writing a response... If I gave you slow poison as a gift, would you be able to enjoy it? Anyways IMO the betterment of our species is a pretty ptimitive belief (key word IMO) You were born whether you wanted or not, a human, but there is no "better" there is only evolution. Judging smarter as better than stupid is not thinking deep enough. There is only smart and stupid there is no "better". Better can be used as a term in sports but not in life as we do not know what the ultimate perfect for our species is there cannot be better. And perfect life can be different along our own species. Some want money, some talent, some just want the opportunity to learn. I already observed many years ago that one human can be almost entirely different in opinions then another human. Just look at how many subcultures there is: Goths, Geeks, Hypsters, Philosophers... all very different, all with a different perfect. Is that what you think is the ultimate goal of life? The betterment of our species? Also, making me an agnostic made me feel pretty shitty, now I can accept anything as i already know that things aren't as good as they are told and live at almost the same level but for some the truth can kill.
  13. They're probably ignoring them. Or they have an anti-social personality and do not feel guilt to begin with. This means morality isn't real how? I wish to have debated this but as I said, I'm out, I will further read posts here though.
  14. All I have to say is, I was the 301st Viewer. Youtube failed because too many of us watched it at the same time !!!
  15. I know people who steal things and feel absolutely nothing. Do you think they are ignoring those values or do they simply don't have them anymore???? I should leave......
  16. Damn, it was great but.....short. It's like a miligram of sugar Need moar suga!!!!!
  17. Aside from that being baseless to begin with: We come to the conclusions that these things were wrong because we do think about this type of topic so much. It's how we come to better percieve morality and the way we should and should not treat others. Your notion of "killing morality" is brought about by not thinking about these types of things. Right, so my years of thinking and attending Sociology about this must've been a waste. I've learned in Sociology that moral values change every year and the countries' laws reflect it. EDIT: Also, may anyone here be smart enough to make a valid formula with intelligence and moral values, I don't understand how those are connected but I know they are. I will then test it, if it works. Also I've heard that once someone does something morally bad, he doesn't feel anything or less for the second time. Then ultimately he will have no feelings about the actions. How come? I really should leave this topic as I'm afraid I'm just making myself sound crazy to you and promoting no-morality, which I don't want. When I understand the connection better then I'm out of this topic. Also, if you're now afraid of me for what unethical stuff I have wrote here, don't be, I want no harm to civilization and in fact my philosophy includes to help humans when I can and that goes for enemies too. All I want is to understand the world better and harming people will get me nowhere. Although I used to fight with my own age group over stupidity that they have done that harmed me but here in Ukraine fighting is completely normal for a teen.
  18. You guys know that thinking about this type of topic too much will completely kill your morality. (I went far with logical reasoning and kept going and going untill I had no more morality and care, then I reversed everything and said, ah fuck it, I'll live like an animal again.) I might be pretty crazy now.... Or could I be???? I've always seen some crazy people (who live with no influence of society) are the completely free people in the world, man I'm really in trouble. So, anyways I'm out because I learned about 2 years ago that freethought will kill your morality. Before that though, I want anyone to answer here to answer what is ultimate right and what is ultimate wrong and why it is so. I know for an instance that our view of the world changes, during history we have seen many, now considered evil things happen, but crusaders, torture, slavery was all done without any feelings whatsoever, or even with positive moral feelings so I made a crazy hypothesis that there is no ultimate right and ultimate wrong.
  19. yeah, they've gotta release more Cowadoody machinimas and INSIDE GAMINGLOLOLOLOL. Do I smell a Trololol
  20. Other than the simple freedom and rights answer which should be used here, I guess I can add a reminder. We do kill billions of lives every day without even noticing it by spraying pesticides, slaughtering cattle... We have a fucked up morality system, where humans are the only things we shouldn't kill unless it's war... All this aside, we make a big deal out of one person dying but a statistic out of a million people dying. What's your problem, morality? Could it be very primitive? Could it be, it shouldn't exist. Ha, I know this is crazy talk to you but that's because your morality tells you so. Does intelligence conflict with morality? Another question. Could it be, without morality humans would be much better as the smart thing is not to kill each other anyway.
